  1. When we hang the capitalists they will sell us the rope we use. Joseph Stalin
  2. Hanson has made a bundle of money on the current world record deer. If I was King I would get a lawyer and force the issue if possible. Were not talking piddly few thousand dollars were talking a life changing amount of change!!! Whether you agree with it or not record bucks mean record money. And by not even scoring it, he is missing out on state record and world record money. He is stupid if he doesnt sue.
  3. My wife got this T-shirt for me today, thought ya'll would get a kick out of it.
  4. Great, no apples this yr, Tick infestation and crop fields ruined. Now all we need is the acorn crop to fail, an out break of CWD, a drought, and an out break of hemmoragic feaver and the 7 plauges on deer season will be complete!!!
  5. When its 50 below and there is no insulation im suprised that would be enough.
  6. Vipers are nice just dont like the wrap around bar. Hard to shoot deer up close. I missed an opportunity on a wide 8 point ( probably a 23 in spread, no lie ) back 3 yrs ago because of it. Deer came in, inline with the tree from behind and stood directly under me and then left the same way after I called him in. Sold it the next day. Had a bear climb up and totaly demolish the seat on one of my hangons last yr. I took one of the cheapstuffed heater pad hunting seats and pulled all the stuffing out. Re stuffed it with synthetic stuffing and sewed the straps on it off the demolished pad and straped it on the seat. Worked out pretty good.
  7. Have never gone into the woods drunk, but have come out of the woods and gone and gotten smack faced before.
  8. When men are pure, laws are useless; when men are corrupt, laws are broken. Benjamin Disraeli Tell the truth and then run. Proverb Just in case anyone who is deciding to use mineral licks to " grow bigger racks" There have been several studies done that have proven that supplemental mineral feeding in captive and wild deer does not make their racks any bigger than what they would have been anyhow. It is nothing more than, like most things in hunting, an advertising ploy to sell you something for management that you dont need. And now you know and knowing is half the battle Go Joe!! And now back to your regularly scheduled arguement about whether or not ignorance of the law is an excuse.
  9. People need to wake up this stuff is scary!!! http://www.yolohub.c...onizing-america #1 It was recently announced that China’s Dalian Wanda Group has bought U.S. movie theater chain AMC Entertainment for a whopping2.6 billion dollars. This deal represents China’s biggest corporate takeover of a U.S. firm ever. #2 Earlier this month, the Federal Reserve announced that it has given approval for banks owned by the Chinese government to buy stakes in U.S.-owned banks. #3 A few days ago Reuters reported that China is now able to completely bypass Wall Street and purchase U.S. debt directly from the U.S. Treasury Department. #4 A recent investigation by the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services found more than one million counterfeit Chinese parts in the Department of Defense supply chain. How in the world could we be so stupid? #5 After being bailed out by U.S. taxpayers, General Motors is currently involved in with companies owned by the Chinese government. The price for entering into many of these “joint ventures” was a transfer of “ ” from General Motors to the communist Chinese.#6 A Chinese company known as “Sino-Michigan Properties LLC” has purchased 200 acres of land near the town of Milan, Michigan. The goal is to build a “China City” with artificial lakes, a Chinese cultural center and hundreds of housing units for Chinese citizens. #7 As I reported on recently, corporations controlled by the Chinese government have been rapidly buying up U.S. oil and gas deposits worth billions of dollars. #8 Chinese investors have been gobbling up real estate all over New York City. The following is from a recent Forbes article…. According to a recent report in the New York Times, investors from China are “snapping up luxury apartments” and are planning to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on commercial and residential projects like Atlantic Yards in Brooklyn. Chinese companies also have signed major leases at the Empire State Building and at 1 World Trade Center, the report said. #9 The Chinese are also doing huge real estate deals in cities in the middle part of the country. The following example is from an article in the Toledo Blade…. Dashing Pacific Group Ltd., which has already purchased the nearby Docks restaurant complex for $2.15 million, put its $3.8 million offer to buy the southern 69 acres at the Marina District in East Toledo back on the table for approval by Toledo City Council. Additionally, Dashing Pacific Chairman Yuan Xiaohong, in a letter signed in Hangzhou, said the firm wants a two-year option to buy the decommissioned Toledo Edison power plant property on the site. #10 According to ABC News, major road and bridge projects all over the United States are being built by Chinese companies. Meanwhile, there are millions upon millions of blue collar American workers that cannot find jobs. The following is a brief excerpt from a recent ABC News article…. In New York there is a $400 million renovation project on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge. In California, there is a $7.2 billion project to rebuild the Bay Bridge connecting San Francisco and Oakland. In Alaska, there is a proposal for a $190 million bridge project. These projects sound like steps in the right direction, but much of the work is going to Chinese government-owned firms. “When we subsidize jobs in China, we’re not creating any wealth in the United States,” said Scott Paul, executive director for the Alliance for American Manufacturing. #11 The new World Trade Center tower is going to include glass that has been imported from China. #12 The new Martin Luther King memorial on the National Mall was made in China. #13 Check out this incredible photo which contrasts the decline of Detroit over the years with the amazing rise of Shanghai, China. #14 A couple of years ago, a large Chinese company was considering building “a 10,000- to 30,000-acre technology zone for industry, retail centers and homes” just south of Boise, Idaho. #15 Our trade deficit with China in 2011 was $295.5 billion. Today, China’s high-tech exports are more than twice the size of U.S. high-tech exports. #18 America has lost more than a quarter of all of its high-tech manufacturing jobs over the past ten years. #19 According to the Economic Policy Institute, America is losing half a million jobs to China every single year. #20 The U.S. spends about 4 dollars on goods and services from China for every one dollar that China spends on goods and services from the United States. Does that sound like “fair trade” to you? #21 While we allow Chinese goods to freely flood our shores, China just keeps slapping new tariffs on American-made goods. According to the New York Times, a Jeep Grand Cherokee that costs $27,490 in the United States costs about $85,000 in China thanks to all the tariffs. #22 According to U.S. Representative Betty Sutton, an average of 23 manufacturing facilities a day closed down in the United States during 2010. #23 The United States has lost an average of approximately 50,000 manufacturing jobs a month and more than 56,000manufacturing facilities in the United States have been shut down since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001. #24 The United States has lost a staggering 32 percent of its manufacturing jobs since the year 2000. #25 Between December 2000 and December 2010, 38 percent of the manufacturing jobs in Ohio were lost, 42 percent of the manufacturing jobs in North Carolina were lost and 48 percent of the manufacturing jobs in Michigan were lost. #26 In 2010, China produced more than twice as many automobiles as the United States did. #27 In 2010, China produced 627 million metric tons of steel. If you were alive back when Jesus was born and you had spent a million dollars every single day since then, you still would not have spent that much money by now.
  10. Nice fish!! Thats a good spot. I like to fish there and then go to the dinner up the road in Walton and eat! Good crappie fishing at the 268 bridge and the Nyce road bridge also.
  11. Probably one of the most overlooked aspects of stand hanging WDS!! Also how are you going to access the stand without spooking the deer is another good one to.
  12. Unfortunately most of my spots are open woods. If the oaks have no corns on them then Im pretty much at the mercy of the deer when it comes to when they will be traveling through. I try to pick the best pinch points or funnels with the most sign on them and with the most doe on my trail cam and hope a good buck is cruising along looking for doe while im there.
  13. Looks like someone had some extra money and time to kill, to me. Not at all practical from a combat point of view. There are far more effective weapons systems out there than this. For personal protection i dont get it either. Nothing better than a 12 gauge short barrel with extended magazine tube. Everyone knows the universal sound of a shell being jacked into a 12 gauge means that if you dont belong here you need to get the F out of here in a hurry!!!
  14. "I forsee alot of them hitting the archery woods the first season or two and then giving it up when they realize a crossbow is no good for shooting at a running deer 50+ yards away." Though Im sure they will try anyhow
  15. I havent had a buck on trail cam since Dec 2010.

  17. The most common excuse that ive heard is, "You bow hunters shoot all the deer before gun season starts. We did a 30 man drive 1st day and only killed 2 doe"? Enough said My personal fav one is, " Last yr we shot 20 deer off this hill then those bowhunters started hunting this yr and we havent seen a thing" Seriously 20 deer, true story,. I just kind of smiled and shook my head! Anyhow, Im an avid deer hunter. Im in the woods from first day of bow to last day of muzzle. Weapon of choice is just an means to an end, the real test of a good hunter is getting the deer close enough to kill whether it be the chess match of bowhunting or the grand theft auto of deer driving. Each is a skill that is learned through trial and error. If your not going to put in the time to learn the game dont blame me for your lack of hunting prowess.
  18. Tie him to a tree and when the deer walk by he'll grab one and hold it there for you.
  19. Past three yrs I have seen very little of the honey bees while mowing the lawn. This yr the clover in my lawn has been covered with them. Hopefully this is a good sign of a come back! Though it takes me longer to mow the lawn now because I cant bring myself to run them over.
  20. QDMA has some good articles on this on their web page. Alot of people over do it. First thing you need to do is find out how many deer are actually in your area. I dont have the equation but you have to estimate how many deer you have and how many lbs of food they will consume a day for it to be successfull and not over done.If you have 30 deer per acre your going to need to do some serious killin or plant some serious plots to feed all those deer. But if the herd is 3 deer per acre a 20 acre bean field will be a waste of money. Same could be said for under doin it to, If you have 15 deer per acre and you plant an acre bean field your probably wasting your time to because they will mow it down before it gets established unless you can keep them out of it. It would be better to plant something that will survive heavy browsing like chikory or oats or a good clover plot.
