I have a guy I worked with who's son in law (really pi$$es him off) is a 3rd gen. on gov't. programs. He only works part time & knows to the dollar how much he can make before it screws up his gov't. aid & will not work anymore than needed. Real BS.

It seems they always find/have $$$ for the free bees but yet they keep telling us that social security is going broke & they don't know where the $$ will come from to keep it working? Something wrong here!
  4. I am with Doc. 100%.! Also as far as social security we have paid thousands of $$$$ into it for over 50 yrs. This is our money & not a favor to us as some political A-holes have said. I would be willing to bet that we will not get out of it what we paid into it for over 50 yrs.!
  5. I had a J.C.Higgins & a Mossberg one in 16 ga. & the other in 12ga. both had poly chokes and both shot slugs pretty well. The 16 ga. was a great rabbit gun. I actually thought they looked cool with the poly chokes. I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder! Mine weren't welded on .
  6. I grew up on a farm. We raised, killed, butchered & ate our hogs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, what ever. I guess I have a different out look at animals. We loved our dogs & cats(did not eat) also but they are all still animals. Now days people talk about them like they are people & they have more rights than people. Now we have "pet parents" WTH!
  7. Same here, Sign of old age moving in ! It only gets worse! I put more miles on walking back & forth trying to remember what I am looking/came here for! lol
  8. Add respect, trust, & best friends. I also went rabbit hunting the morning I got married, hunted til noon, got married at 5 PM.
  9. My wife was sort of eased in into hunting. The 2 yrs. we went together she was helping to butcher up the deer. Her & my mother would wrap & label the cuts while the men did the cutting. Then we planed our wedding around my deer season. We got married Nov. 7th, went on our honeymoon for a week to Wash. D.C., came home & I packed up & went to deer camp for the next week. I have always gone hunting,& fishing pretty much when ever also out of state hunts & fishing to Canada trips. My buddies wife would say something about it & my wife would say are you kidding, First its archery season/ fall turkey, then deer shot gun, then spring turkey, then fishing/boating season & then it starts all over again. The snowmobiling could have caused a problem but got rid of that. We do many things together to balance it all out on her side also. I guess something is working we will be married 45 yrs come this Nov. plus the 2 yrs we went together! All is good. I keep telling her it will never work/last!
  10. Great buck, nice mount.
  11. We plan on doing some hinge cutting this summer.
  12. Nice pics. Are those trees hinge cut for a reason? Just wondering.
  13. Also Case lake is good. But it was in the paper Sunday that both these lakes are still ice covered & the DEC will not stock them until the ice is gone. Also , don't assist the kids unless you have a fish license ecos. watch for that & will ticket you. I believe both these lakes have special regs. about live & artificial baits also best to check. Have fun & good luck!
  14. I shoot 1 pin dead on at 20 yrds & good to 35yrds. works for me.
  15. Again, nice work & a great looking rifle.
  16. I use to have to kill a bird, but now I get just as much enjoyment seeing, watching & hearing them. I like to see how close I can get them to come in. Only once I took a shot pass 40 yrds. Now days if I do all this the kill is secondary. Enjoy the hunt. When they come to my bird feeder I will crack the window open & sit & listen to them talk until they leave.
  17. Robby, I have a friend like you, always said he was born 150 yrs. to late too! lol nice stuff!
  18. Use mostly Quaker boy mouth calls. Dick Kirby himself taught me & my brother how to call sitting in his barber shop when he first started making calls many yrs. ago. I also use one of the first Lynch box calls ever made. But have tried many others thru the yrs.
  19. Beautiful rifle & great shooting!
  20. Very nice, did you make the calls & put the gun together yourself? Nice job.
  21. Their are some super prices on ammo from the catalogs & supply houses & we can't have them sent here. The problem ordering from the LGS is they nick you with the jacked up price because they know they have us by the short hairs!
  22. All kinds of ammo on line we just can't have any sent into our "safe" state! This really s^(ks!
  23. Had 16 at the bird feeder this AM. 3 fanned out, strutting toms.
  24. My mother would eat them once after that they were gone. My youngest daughter & hubby won't eat any. My oldest daughter will eat them for a month, eek! (We joke if we find old things , give it to T.J. she'll eat it!) I will eat them many times over. I love left over potatoes of any kind.
