Anybody ever done it? Had a real big one tonite at about 12 yards for a good half hour. Wanted to shoot but wasnt sure the season was open. Now that i know....

Oct 13. Hunted in the morning at a spot not too far from my house. Had a big spike come in. This spike has been around two years and he never gets antler longer than about 2 1/2 inches. Big body probably a 130+ pound deer. Missed him twice. Once was a freak of archery, the other he jumped the string. Kinda ruined my weekend lol. Oct 14. I need to read the small game regs more! Had a big fat rabbit tonite at ten to 15 yards for a good half hour. Booted two does on the way out. Only hunted for about 2 hours.

When i got my bow it had carbons with it. I shot them for awhile but ive always used aluminums before. Thats why i said i switched to aluminums. As for aiming high or low...i do shoot one pin. I keep my shots at 25 and under. Never really had to aim high before, but low yes. I dont always think the deer is going to duck but if i can tell from body language that they may be a little skittish, yes ill aim low. Ive only ever wounded one doe that i never found. That was shotgun though.

Thats my only saving grace is i havent wounded any. Had i wounded any i wouldnt be hunting. Im confident in myself....but im honestly wondering about my arrow setup. Sorry too for going off topic

Four. Been a bad start to the season. One i hit a limb, one was a freak of archery, one was sunday am when he ducked and the other i still cant find my arrow. Ive taken myself out of the woods for a few days. My equipment is fine and im fine just not happening like its supposed to. Im not a hack job, i have taken deer. Have one on the wall to prove it. I practice and i dont get target panic. I used to but i overcame it. Just not connecting all the dots.

Exactly what i was saying.

For me shooting a bow that isnt brand new, i went with heavier aluminum arrows, string silencers and i put some limbsavers on the limbs. Seems to be pretty quiet. As stated shooting at an alert deer is tough. Does the deer always win? No. But i like to aim low if they are alert. Either way if i do hit em its still in the sweet spot. That being said i had one duck lower than ive ever seen sunday. Complete miss. It happens, and best to just accept it and move on! Better luck next time!

Its real. Happened to me sunday morning on a big spike we have been trying to whack. Ive had em jump the string before but never duck so far down. Looked like someone pulled his legs out from under him. Can reduce some noise with string silencers.

Nice. Ive been looking for some new camo. Been doing alot of ground hunting and my camo probably looks like the blob effect

Welcome aboard! No idea on how to register the name of the club. We have a small club of guys but its more of a friendly group...deers an beers!

Oh i plan on it. Shot the bow and everything is dead on. Arrows are straight and everything seems fine. I throw the misses in a barrel and i dont let it get me down. Everybody misses!

Pretty sure we have a guy or guys making meth on one spot we hunt. Tons of water bottle thrown everywhere and hundreds of those 1# propane tanks. Asked someone and they said sounds like someone cooking meth. Ive never seen anyone in there, but ive cleaned up the mess only to have another mess a month later. If i do catch anyone in there im gonna have some choice words. Actually i do remember a guy walking up to my turkey decoys and talking to them a few years back. My son an i were like wtf? You cant see my blind 15 yards away? Thought maybe a nut got loose from the crazy house

Nope i had my sight centered and the pin buried just behind the shoulder. It was a freak occurence. Either that or a really stiff crosswind blew thru haha!

And yeah im glad i didnt wound him. That wouldve been far worse than completely missing him. The second shot i knew he would duck...and he literally layed down lol
