  1. I use whatever patterns good. I limit my shots to under 30 yards so theres alot out there that fits the bill. At the same time im not gonna spend an arm and a leg to get that pattern
  2. I hunt right til noon. Shot a good gobbler a few years back at around 1150 lol i was packing up and not sure if my rustling around made him gobble but he let loose at 40 yards. I never knew he was there oops
  3. Can still do the same here. I have a few spots on public land that most people wont walk to. Like i said though most guys i see pullin out of the woods around 9 which is fine by me. Good luck!
  4. Public land can be good hunting. Ive killed more on public land than private. I notice alot of hunters are done by say 9am....which leaves those gobblers lonely until noon! Scout scout scout is my best advice
  5. Mine is my lucky primos hat. Had it for years and seems as though everytime i wear it i at least have an encounter with turkeys.
  6. Try it. Sounds like an interesting plan
  7. Dont ya hate when that happens!
  8. Ive got the cherokee sports inflatables. Love em but many a turkey have fallen to the old foam!
  9. Normally ill set up a single hen, hen and jake, or pair of hens. I have a thunderchicken strutter decoy...but have since turned it into a nice mount lol. There are also certain places i have the best luck with no decoys. Ive read that some folks like to use just hens early in the season and adding jakes later in the season.
  10. Im gonna head out this weekend and scout. Got a new property of 50 acres to hunt and supposedly its full of turkeys. Lets hope so!
  11. Im ready...just gotta pattern some new shells and scout a few new areas. Calls are ready and so am i!
  12. Totally agree. Last year was horrible! At least for me it was
  13. I hope it does. I have literally seen squat for turkeys while driving to work and back. Last time it was like that....i took 2 birds in 2 days...great season!
  14. If they are a nuisance i can help ya! nice view nonetheless!
  15. Its an 870. 18" barrel with cylinder choke. Ive got some shells pygmy had and just waiting to test them out. Ive decided that a new barrel is probably my best bet. Might happen this turkey season or over the summer. Now that my fiances friends want geese a new barrel is pretty much a must. The flite control is my next option for now. Ive seen some videos and reviews of an cylinder bore with flitrcontrol and its almost got me sold. I can keep my range under 25 yards so im ok there.
  16. Getting close boys an girls! Man i cant wait for may 1!
  17. I think ny needs that twist too
  18. Its actually in the middle of the woods lol. Used to be a nice stretch of land until nyseg pushed up a huge mound. Now its a watering hole for deer turkeys geese you name it
  19. help solve an argument...are these geese or turkey tracks?
  20. Deep frying doesnt work? Seems to have worked for us in the past. Not sure if supposed to taste different but man does it taste good!
  21. Same here. Only time i do anything different is when i know someone has a turkey fryer waiting for a full bird!
  22. From what ive read it seems that a less constrictive choke works best with the flitecontrols. Bu ive also seen full chokes shoot it well. Guess it all depends on your setup.
  23. Ive only seen a few and that was weeks ago. Im always checking fields hoping to catch a flock!
