  1. I thought I was going to hear about a new gun or bow. But hey, being able to see good has to be just as good lol.
  2. Mouth wash works wonders in getting the smell off you're dog. I had to use a few bottles on my dog twice now for her getting sprayed by a skunk.
  3. Very nice brother. I love shooting and hunting with a bow. Good luck on some bullseyes.
  4. Maybe throw up a cheap gate somewere along the the way in if possible. Its hard to deal with stuff like that when your not always around. If they really wanna keep it up go to gander mountain and get some traps lol. Your land right.. If they wanna play, they gotta pay !!!
  5. Thanks for all the advice guys, i'm going to give it another few weeks before I put my stand up and couple more weeks of seeing were the deer are coming in from. And ill hopefully end up having some pictures of deer to post and get some of the surrounding area. After reading threw all the post my main concern is getting to my stand without making much noise and working with wind.
  6. Run a trail camera on video all year round. And id put a camera on the trail leading into the camp and see if people are driving in. Good luck I hate scums like that.
  7. Access would be my main concern because boarding the edges of the food plot is tall thick grass. And unless it gets colder and dies off it will make some noise walking threw it, but at the same time I was wondering if trying to hunt them on their way there would be the way to go.
  8. My best guess on the wind would be that it follows the path of the trail but that could change on any given day right? Now if you could imagine your average logging road. Just pretty much a straight path a few miles threw the woods that leads to the cabin. We cleared the area with chain saws and what not and grew the plot out that was a few years ago. So its pretty much just that plot in that general. The water source is a few smaller ponds within 80 yards of the plot. There are deer sign all around and a smaller buck was taken from that area last year. Bigger trees are all around hence it being the woods. So finding a tree for a stand wouldn't be a problem. Its sort of hard to explain but I want to do what I can to make the best out of the spot. Im going to get the trail camera from that area this weekend I hope a few pictures will give a better look of the set up.
  9. If you end up using anything just dont soak the hole arrow as it will clog in your arrow rest after shooting a few times. I would just do the first 4 or 5 inches.
  10. Alright well I work for a guy who owns a lot of hunting land with a bunch of stands and food plots. He gave me permission to pick out a spot to hang a stand at and I chose an older, smaller food plot. Now what i'm trying to figure out is were to hang a stand and how to hunt this plot. And I know pictures would help but I dont have any so ill do the sbest I can to describe it. Its pretty much an old logging road that leads us threw the woods. Now right off the road to the right is the food plot you can see it if your driving up the pathway. The plot is clover and covers maybe 25 yards in by about 40 yards wide. All around the plot is thicker tall stuff, some I hope dies off before the season but beyond the grass leads right into the woods. Now... Would you hunt the egde right off the plot or would you walk threw the grass near were they funnel in and hunt in the woods to shoot them on their way to the plot. Im looking to make it a nice set up and have never had the chance to be the only person hunting a food plot. I figure I have had a trail camera there for a few weeks so if I get some deer pictures ill share them and maybe they will give a better look at the area. Any input on how to hunt these smaller plots??
  11. That doesn't sound too bad. I like the idea of more real life practice. Does the foam organs come out to be replaced ??
  12. The soap idea sounds like a good one. I would like to buy a 3-D target but im cant fins myself spending over a 100 dollars on one !!
  13. Looks like the action from a model 64. I have one as well and they take a beatin before needing to be cleaned up !!
  14. I still have to hang one of my stands im waiting for it to get cooler so some of the green leaves die off. And I have a another ladder stand I need to move. Im just waiting for some trail camera results to see were the deer are coming in from. Good luck all.
  15. Veryyyy nice. Good luck, keep us updated !!
  16. Nice looking deer. I have yet to see a nice buck on my trail cam but for now I dont worry cause I have plenty of doe and thats were the bucks will be come rut season !! Good luck !!
  17. I like to pull or swap cards 2 maybe 3 times a month.. For now. I keep my cameras in all year round. Come closer to hunting season ill try my hardest to stay out of the woods. But sometimes me not knowing if I have a monster on that camera kills me and I check them too often lol.
  18. Some nice looking bear. Show some more of them harvest pictures and not so many drums full of food, its a better look in my opinion. But nice bear if I had the money i'd love to hunt your land !!
  19. 243. can and will drop a deer. With a good shot there should be zero problems. And when buying a Savage unless you like a heavy trigger pull get the Accutrigger.
  20. Cleaning rifles and tuning bows.. Almost time to hunt.

  21. Savage makes a nice rifle. The accutrigger is nice if you like a light trigger pull.
  22. Best guess.. 2 and a half. And the velvet plays wonders in making the antlers look bigger but right around 95-105.
