went from 200 pics a week to a steady decline too about 25 or 30 still getting some bucks on cam. but not as many as when the bachelors were using the property, but it happens every year and then i start seeing bucks i didnt have on cam,

Its getting closer you should start seeing buck activity soon, Your property might not have anything to offer them, Or somthing is forcing the deer to go nocturnal, but then again most pics i get this time of year are night shots. Very rarely do i get day time pics except back in deep cover, Until closer to the end of October beginning of November,

As a former public land hunter i will tell you this, the state will not accept responsabitlity for your stand if it comes up missing, And the lock means nothing if they want to take your set they will, Then you have to replace the set plus a lock, ive seen people actually cut down the tree the stand was in to get at one, carry it in or be prepared to lose it from a thief, Ive had them stolen only to find them later set up in a different place, lol but i never hung a stand on public land that i wasnt ready to sacrifice for a good spot, And i just stopped locking them wrote my name, address and phone number on them with permanent marker and i never had one stolen after that. good luck

i hunt multiple stands and have 1 umbrella i take it out every night and bring it every day

Still dont understand the point behind it, You can bowhunt at 14 why do you need a special gun season ? But hey if it gets more kids hunting go for it, ill be in my tree waiting for the deer to come running, And they will be running,

Ive got it bad, i never stop thinking about hunting its always there taunting me, like the bully in school, in the back ground but never gone, always there. It wont leave me alone, But then i dont want it too stop i kinda like it,

The top spot marked "t" . Then along the creek near the funnel, I would save the funnel untiil the rut, In the open hardwoods by where you have the "o" drawn. That spot should be a kick ass gun spot, If you stay in the woods a little ways and let the funnels go until the rut hits you should do great, Im not a fan of hunting right on the edges of fields, If you get inside the woods 20-30yds i find where i hunt there is much better action and the deer are a little calmer in the woods , Heavy trails are good, find a intersection with alot of trails hang a stand 20yds on the downwind side and leave it until the you see bucks trailing does, when that starts hunt that stand with the right wind and utilize the funnels, but not before so as you dont spook the deer, Im also a fan of ground blinds and seeing the season starts 2 weeks earlier this year i might just take a ground blind and put it on the edge of the corn and hay and use it for an observation point to see where the deer are moving. good luck and use cameras, i normally hang cameras in spots i dont plan on hunting, camera spots, There are a few but stay away from the funnels with them, Inside corners and field edges are great for trail cams, you should get alot of pics but im gonna guess most your decent bucks will show up at night and you will get alot of doe and fawn pics during daylight hours, The bigger bucks tend to hang back in the woods until dark, one reason why i never put a set on a field edge,

Its not even the look of the woods, Just somthing about the place, Im happy knowing im not the only one though, A couple of my buddies say the same thing.

One set of woods, I cant go in that place even in the daylight without the hair standing up on my neck. I dont know why but that place just plain creeps me out, I stopped hunting it a few years back because of it, Still dont know why and i am not ready to find out why this place spooks me but it does and i hunted it for 10 years, It didnt matter what i was packing gun,bow,muzzloader, It just weirded me out, Damn shame too i have sheds out of it that score from 150 to 170 just monster bucks, But dont care im good where i am now.

Last Bow season i got to my lease a little early, The stand i planned on hunting that morning was about 500yds across this fresh cut hayfield and there was a full moon, So as im walking i get a text from my brother and saw how early it was so i decided to really take my time, Thats when i saw it, the cutest black cat, now ive seen this cat everyday and im thinking im going to see if i can pet this kitty, So i started saying hey kitty, kitty and walking toward it, When i got about 5 feet away mister kitty decided that he was gonna show me that he really wasnt a cat at all, So now im standing there 5ft from one pissed off skunk he lifted his tail and started stomping his feet, Thats when i decided that i should get out of there and should do it as fast as i could, So now im running and i think im doing a decent job at it, when i look back this skunk is chasing my big rear end across, this hay field in the middle of the night under a full moon and he is gaining ground, I cant tell you he was going to do when he caught me but i really didnt want to find out, so i kept running, I eventually get away from him and made it too my stand, where i get phone call from my brother, Laughing his a$$ off because he watched the entire thing go down, So now its one of his favorite stories to tell people, and everytime he even smells a skunk around i will get a text from him and all it says is "rihlmao" and that means rolling in hayfield laughing my a$$ off,

I couldnt find a goose to save my life right now, just drove 40 miles over 2hrs and saw 2 ducks thats it and its not even duck season,

My dog came back from Peak performance where she was force fetched couple months ago, When the weather is hot i havent worked her. But now that its cooling down we are at it everyday, Ive never really hunted waterfowl but with the blood lines my lab has. I couldnt not hunt over her it would be an insult to her heritage. So i started gathering waterfowl gear, My brother is huge into waterfowl and him and his buddies are gonna show me the ropes. My first season with my best friend and family i cant wait. good luck to all those who venture out,

saw a buck last year that was hit by a car its jaw hanging walking into trees falling down couldnt even use one of his legs, I thought long and hard knowing this buck was gonna die, only probly was when the buck i harvested ran threw the woods and crashed, This guy came stumbling by from the direction my bowshot buck went down a few minutes after my buck expired, I ended up letting him go the next day he was half eaten on the edge of the hay field, It keeps me wondering if i made the right decision, But i dont know, Nobody knows how that buck spent the last few hours of is life,

Its because of the ,45 ammo unless you show a valid pistol permit they wont sell that to you, the .223 was denied because you tried purchasing both at the same time, Been there done that, went in the next day and bought the rifle ammo i was after in the first place.

ive got this guy a hundred times and every time he walks by he walks up and sticks his face in the cam.

The real big bucks seem to skirt my cams as soon as they realize they are up, But the doe,fawns and smaller bucks seem to enjoy their pic being taken, Until this year the big 8pnt a 10 and another real nice 8 ive got multiple pics of all of them, The nice 8 and the big 8 are always late at night and in the same place, Then 10 is all day long on 4 or 5 different cams in the woodlot of about 120 acres
