trad is only 25yds? I might not even miss any targets .... might
-
I know this has been discussed before, but where are you folks buying ammo online. I picked some up yesterday from Target Sports and have ordered from Buds and Palmetto Armory. Any place that I am missing that tends to have good stock and reasonable prices that will ship direct to NY?

Those look real nice Steve and this is the first I heard of them.
-
I may or may not have heard 150 from my spotter.
-
I don’t think you can read one in the da k. At least that is my experience.
-
Andrew shot a nice red. I shaved a Fox at 240 thinking he was 150. Tough to judge yardage on eyes at night in a field. We paced it off from the hair. Fun night. My new tripod was a pleasure.

Biz identifies as a man also.

Thanks. Sounds like you got it down. I debated also. Just didn’t want to have to buy a third component (ball head) so the reaper grip had its own mechanisms. It really grabs the gun nice. A bit to heavy to mount on the trigger sticks however. Works but not like on the slik tripod. It will be fun for target shooting too

Just got it. High quality. Bit heavy. Very sturdy and smooth pan and elevation. If I am hiking a ways I will likely take the primos trigger but close set ups or blinds or kids shooting, this thing will be sweet.

Key is proximity to main power lines to sell power to grid. Municipality receives pilot payments far in excess of what farmer was paying for ag tax rates. And farm owner is paid by operator of solar farm who sells to grid and leases land from owner. It’s a win all the way around except the loss of the pretty green space. If you own the right parcel, it’s very profitable.

Nice. Enjoy the day guys! -
You said Howard Hill would disagree that recurves are more forgiving. It’s wonderful that he was a good shot with his longbow. Don’t change the fact that scores are always higher in recurve division. Explain that under your theory. And citing one legend doesn’t cut it. I disagree that form is any less important for a longbow.
-
my bad - I don't have a lot of experience with hoyt - should have kept my mouth shut. All the bows I have worked on it was a piece of cake.
-
Thanks for the clarification.
-
Most bows its not a major deal. Same strings and cables used. I can't speak to this bow but I have changed a lot of cams and never needed different strings. Cost of new cams and whatever someone will charge to swap them if you don't have a press.

Doesn’t look like it. The 54r has a rim.

Special game? We want an auction! -
He wont be the only one. And others will disagree with Howard Hill. All that said, you see Olympic archers shooting recurves not longbows. Recurve division scores are almost always higher than longbow division scores in target tourneys also. Take it for what its worth.
-
Honestly, I find my recurves to be more forgiving but I also know that is a debated matter. In general I find bows cut past center to be more forgiving which most longbows are not, even the hybrids.

Just so you folks know, Biz uses a bit of an outdated photo for this site and his "dating" sites from what I am told. So that you recognize him, he gained a few hundred pounds but please be polite about it.

Perfect time to break out and finally kill a dozen or so. Just realized this is national. I better shoot for the loser bracket. A dozen won’t get me anywhere.
