I like it. Thruway will funnel Deer through those woods. Morning hunts you might blow Deer from field but that would not deter me. Stick close to downwind hedgerow and set up early. Good luck. -

This is true but I don’t play the lottery so my personal odds of killing a WR are probably better than winning powerball. Although not much better.

I would rather win the powerball if I am aiming for a lucky money maker. But the big buck that makes an extra 7 figures ain’t bad. I suspect odds are similar. Lol

What does that have to to with whether a 170 buck is a big buck in the real Deer world as you put it. Your livestock ain’t the the real deer world - anything but.

Pretty sure NY is a real state and there are real deer here and both are part of the real world (those are real facts). And I can assure you, 170 is a big buck in Iowa, WI, OH and the other big buck states too. So much for your "facts." So were the sub 170 bucks you shot this year real deer or big deer?

ahh - so only news worthy deer are part of the real world of deer - hate to say it FSW, but that is a messed up view point. But you are entitled to it.

LOL - OK what real world of deer are you referencing where 170 is not a big whitetail. I get its not a world record, but its a big buck by any standard - except maybe the not so real world of farmed deer.

I am not saying he won't make money, but I don't quite get it either. Guys like Dan Infalt kill big buck after big buck on public land and don't seem to be getting rich from it. But you kill one really big buck and its 7 figures? I guess people and companies pay more to see one really big set of antlers than I would but I certainly don't blame the guy for cashing in if he can.

One certainly requires a lot less practice. I may get to a point that I don't shoot enough and want to hunt with a compound or crossbow, but I still love shooting and find hunting with a single string bow to be more of a challenge. Making the shot never really crosses my mind with a compound but it sure can with the trad bows.

Yep. That’s what made me jump. I don’t like the flat grip of many longbows. A hybrid like this I can use the sane repeatable grip. Called hybrids and pretty common now.

It’s a Schafer Silvertip. About 54-55lbs at my DL. So far I am commiting blasphemy by shooting carbon arrows. Lol. But they seem to land wherever I point. Just have to be careful to keep the limb tip between joists when I shoot this one.
