  1. That first one is very cool imo. Love to see him one year older.
  2. Live from the kitchen. Just finished making and vacuum sealing 10lbs of venison/bacon burgers, and 30lbs of sausage split between breakfast and Italian. Good luck to everyone hunting. Hoping to get out tomorrow but not liking the rain.
  3. Subtract any asymmetry and you will get net but assuming your measurement are accurate, he should make it.
  4. I bet he nets pope and young if he grossed 136.
  5. I am going to guess 130ish gross. It doesn't take long to measure and confirm.
  6. Good luck to you two. I will never be invited back because of a coffee break so be careful on your movement. lol
  7. Good plan. Nothing to lose really. Taking my 8 year old daughter on Thanksgiving morning and she wants me to use the bow. OK by me.
  8. Nose to wind would mean you are following from behind or downwind of the deer, but I recognize that deer go where they want regardless of wind direction so it would seem at times that you could be upwind of them. From what I read, most trackers hope to catch up with the deer being tracked whether its bedded or still moving and get a shot. Sam Potter (a member here for former member) knocked down a few big boys using this method, but I believe he had huge tracts of land to hunt in the ADK. Where we hunt, it would be a quick track to the neighbors property line. lol
  9. So you use a stick to push it through to cavity? My buddies do that occasionally too. Just never used the string trick. Interesting.
  10. I don't even tie it. Just a good once around with a longer sharp blade and pull out with intestines. Never had any issues.
  11. Listen to Buckmaster. I don't hunt the ADKs
  12. I would avoid all scents. Hunt the wind. Good luck!
  13. BTW - plow guy for my neighbor wanted $350 for the year. Seemed like robbery to me. That ended that idea.
  14. Thanks all. Larry hooked me up with his guy who pretty much explained the 3 possible reasons why it isn't connecting. Bringing it to him weds.
  15. That last one is definitely juicing SMK. LOL Nice bucks.
  16. Didn't have any starter fluid grampy so no but good idea. I am lazy when it comes to snow blowing and just wanted to push the starter button. The big debate is whether I just pay a plow guy for this season and fix it myself over the summer. Snow isn't too bad and supposed to warm up so no immediate rush I guess.
  17. Can anyone recommend an honest shop near Rochester/Webster? Tried the snowblower this morning and forgot that last year, the starter electric stopped engaging the flywheel. Can't get it to pull start. I am sure I could fix it if I had the time, but would rather just get it fixed without being robbed. Should have kept the 30yr old arans. That thing always started even if it looked like a pile of junk. Thanks
  18. The storm has hit here in 8h. Heading to my nephews bday party and happy not to be in a tree.
  19. I use 120g BY VOLUME of 209 but that is on the high side. Most use less. My gun is accurate with that charge. With pellets you can use 2 or 3. Check which is more accurate from your ML.
  20. Saw 3 small bucks today and my son wanted to call it quits around 9:30. Walked a doe bedding area on way out and pushed 2 to phade. He is really good at killing multiple deer with a single shot. 2 doe down.
