  1. I would think either will draw a buck in. Perhaps one benefit to shooting the lone doe is that the mom with fawns is teaching the fawns that this is the home area and they will stick around and teach the next generation. The lone doe might not have that influence any longer. Then again, the does may stick around anyway. And further as part of my stream of consciousness, mom may push a bb out anyways so maybe its best to kill a mom with a bb and the bb becomes a Big Buck one day and stays around. lol That's my non-scientifically backed thought. In sum - kill moms with a single bb, then lone does, then moms with doe fawns. One more caveat - if you hunt the same area as Wolc, a single bb has no chance so go straight to option 2.
  2. You are retired - I would go chase elk with him if I were you!
  3. Oh and someone can assign you up to 2 more DMPs I think.
  4. No Problem - I typically get all that I qualify for but rarely use all 7. BOW/ML - antlerless and either sex Open season - buck DMP - 4 antlerless used in any season The DMPs are WMU specific while others are statewide. So I will typically use a DMP on does before the bow/ML antlerless as I can use that anywhere during bow and ML.
  5. Unless you purchase a bow/ML privilege, your only option for a regular season doe tag is a DMP - costs 10 bucks and you can get 0 to 4 depending on the WMU. Check the DEC website for probability of obtaining one in your hunting WMU. Just realized you got the have bow/ML, so I assume you used the anterless on your doe. That leaves an either/or for those seasons and a buck tag for regular season. You can still apply for DMPs.
  6. And - get out and hunt Belo!
  7. I usually take an early doe just because I am trigger happy at this point. Then I wait on a buck. Won't shoot a doe once the real pre-rut starts in late October until a buck is down. If I hunted an area with low numbers, I would probably not shoot a doe early however.
  8. At least it was a clean miss. I will take that over a bad hit any day.
  9. I would and then I would go rummage through his truck assuming it wAs parked on public. I mean that’s ok as long as I don’t steal it, right?
  10. Would need a lot of cams but I suppose it’s possible.
  11. I must be doing it wrong. My cams send pics 2x a day - 8am and 8pm. Not much help for the scenario you describe. I like them mostly because I am too lazy to swap cards.
  12. Some of us are just an enigma. Sometimes I hunt with a stickbow and other times I use a thermal scanner and scope (not deer). I like cell cams but have never killed a deer I could attribute to cam pics directly other than knowing a deer is in the area. All in all, who really cares.
  13. For those unaware, we are not supposed to comment in the harvest thread. Just post harvest pics and “likes” if you want. Not that I care and I am currently violating the rule by posting this. lol
  14. Is my helicopter aircraft by the definitions? Geeze how am I supposed to kill a deer
  15. Lol. Not sure what that means either but doesn’t sound objectively enforceable.
  16. Well I jumped two fawns and the piebald waking in. She stood up 12 yds away, smiled and bounded off. She better stop with the attitude.
  17. Not following GMan. Exactly what is prohibited? The use of trail cameras completely? See one on a trail cam and shooting it? Can you explain further?
  18. Thank you Zeek. I was afraid I would actually have to hunt today. Phew.
  19. How is it possible no one shot a deer by now. You may force me to hunt this PM to get it going.
