  1. over 1,000 pics on a camera i checked yesterday, no signs of horns and i have a hard time believing every pic was just fawns and does.
  2. Never had a problem with deer eating brassicas they hit from late summer into winter when they completely wipe it out. I was just wondering about the milo because i know it does have some feed value and cover which is what im more concerned about.
  3. Anyone ever try planting Milo in NY? if so, what time of the year did you plant it? was it worth it?
  4. Anyone finding sheds in 8G? mostly fields or woods?
  5. Im a short guy (5'8- 5'9) i would sure as hell try to shoulder it lol it would be obvisously more accurate.
  6. Hmmm makes sense. Only in NYS lol...thanks for the input.
  7. FYI....fox season is over in most of the state i beleive.
  8. Rife is considered a 16inch barrel or longer. Im going out on a limb that this would still be consider a pistol. Unless theres a restriction about overall length of a gun.
  9. 14inch barrel, i live in 8G a non rifle county. i was just wondering if it would still be considered a pistol with that custom stock.
  10. http://www.gunsamerica.com/986414948/Thompson_Contender_44Ma.htm# Would this be legal in NYS in a non rifle county? idk the restrictions as far as pistols.
  11. Ok thats what i thought i just wanted to make sure. that is pretty sad even if it is a feral dog.
  12. Yes the sst's i shoot them out of a mossberg 500, like previously stated every gun is going to be different. Dependinng how much of a hardcore hunter you are it will be worth it to try a few different brands of slugs.
  13. If your grandfathered in before April 14th cant you just load a 10 round clip with 7 rounds?
  14. The lead sled is also a great tool, you will easily be able to sight in your gun from 100-200 yrds just depends on your preference.
  15. Hornadays! great FPS and never had to track one when using them
  16. Are you guys usually using hand-loads or factory? I've read alot of reviews that factory loads seem be too much for the short pistol barrels causing alot of gases releaseing upon firing.
  17. What length barrel is that? and what kind of ammo were you using?
  18. Alright so Encore is the top favorite as of now lol. What is the 260 comparable too? 270?
  19. Looking for some ideas for my future first deer hunting pistol, thanks guys!
  20. Just an idea, use a air horn to locate gobblers? i've heard them gobble to trains and 18-wheeler horns so i think it would work. And it would probably really confuse the other guys in the woods lol.
  21. i would say tree-stands accidents is probably a main concern nowadays. Shouldn't be because the hunter safety system is so simple and affordable, but than again there should be no price tag that stops you from keeping yourself alive anyways.
  22. Those bucks needed about 4 years to grow and you need to seriously cut down the length of any future videos.
  23. Speed and accuracy of the crossbow makes them more successful and the obvious fact that you can mount a scope on it, a crossbow can tolerate wayy more human error than a regular bow. Crossbows the way they are built nowadays are more and more like holding your favorite gun so of course people are going to be more comfortable with them which will increase accuracy and success rate. As far as recruiting kids i'm actually surprised especially since i would think that kids could be more successful with a crossbow at a earlier age simply because they don't have to actually draw the weight back like on a vertical bow. 49% of the replies indicated that they agree or strongly agree that they could not hunt deer during the archery season without the crossbow....who is going to verify that these people aren't physically able to hunt with a regular bow and don't just want the advantages of the crossbow? i'm assuming this percentage is supposed to be people with disablilities or previous injuries. And if that's the case that you cant physically hunt with a vertical bow and you really love hunting you'll be able to holdout till gun season when you don't need to draw back any sort of weight.
