eitherway the intentions of a food plot are equal to that of baiting and by intentions i mean most guys make food plots with the intentions of hanging a stand off the fringe and hunting that food plot come deer season in hopes to bag game and or se more deer activity. the difference i dont see is that there are plenty of hunters constructing food plots in sizes no bigger then a 1/4 acre or less or even strip plots... now when you have smaller FP's and a high concentraition of deer in that paticualr area, please tell me how that differes from bait piles and the exchange of salivas or any other transmitions the DEC speaks of??? small food plots and high activity, i personally see no difference, im sorry and you wont change my mind. if you have an acre plus food plot, ok maybe there is a difference in that of which the DEC has concerns for. i have not heard one person on here state they made a food plot souly for the deer herd and have no intentions of hunting that plot. im not knocking the guys who make food plots to hunt becasue i do and i would be a hipocrite. Its the ones who are stating theres a difference between baiting and small food plots that i think is quite comical. the motives and intentions are there and the the same as that of baiting. you can not tell me a small strip plot has the up most concern for the deer heard and it has NOTING to do with drawing deer in closer. C'Mon... im not supporting any theory on bait piles i just think its funny that some are actually trying to defend the difference. Admit it and move on.

yeah they get out of control, i was going to get down from my stand when i heard them and tell them the get the f**k out of here, but then again i didnt wnat to totally ruin my hunt... i told a guy with his 2 little boys on dirst bike they were not aloowed to be on the property due to hunting season and also private proprty, they failed to listen and went in after i got out of eye shot. i dont know about you but if i was told it was hunting season i would not have my little kids go in the woods with hunters and weapons.

I have to admit that the motivation is likely the same for both, isn't it? At least that's how it seems to me. The methods may differ, and the results may differ, but the motivation behind each activity probably is essentially the same. Yes I know the food plots carry the cover story that they are good for the benefit of all other kinds of wildlife, but I seriously question whether very many would put in the money and effort if the plots had no attraction to draw and hold deer for hunting purposes just like baiting. I know that thought probably is not going to be the most popular with those here that are involved in food plotting, but I wouldn't be very honest if I said it looked any other way to me. I definitely could be wrong, but I have never seen nor read anything yet that would make me think so. Doc it is the same... just some wont admit to that. hard work or hard earned money spent or not, same motive / intentions... i can see if they are destination food plots and not being hunted but almost ALL plots are intended to be hunted. And also, in my eyes it still is considered "feeding"...

i always shower down before my morning hunt with scent blocker... and when i get out of the shower they have a body deoderent lotion type for hair and skin, i use that. that stuff works awesome! and you can use that when you dont want to shower... or before going back out on your afternoon hunt..

im not knocking it... to each is own, perhaps that would be nice to see. however ive seen high fence hunts at hunting and fishing expos that are in other states or even in NY and the price tag is absolutly retarted... what is it for the rich yuppies who dont do things themselves, like scout and hang stands and are too good for doing there own leg work? ive seen those hunts go for in excess of 12K +!!! theres something wrong with that! i was agreeing with some of what you said, however using wounded veterens is no excuse to pedal an operation like that. ive seen plenty of "No Fence" hunts to the same hunts for Vets and its great. fence hunts = $$$$$$$$$$$$$ its disgusting and a effin rip off...

i am going to play devils advocate here... and im not supporting the theories of "baiting". but why is it legal in other states and not legal in NY??? ive thought about this and if given the chance to to QDM, do you think that baiting would not be an essential tool? ive seen way to many hunters shoot deer they think 100 are does and when they get up to it, it has nuts... killing bucks with no chance to grow in a mistake for a doe... Now, and of coarse im not siring the pot but if you had a small bait pile within reason or maybe even hunted near a feeder. you can do 1 of 2 things 1 draw deer in for a more ethical shot, closer range and hopefully lead to more harvests rather then wounded deer feeding the yotes 2 be more intune with the deer and see closeup that this is a button buck and eliviate the mistakes of shooting button bucks and tend to harvest some mature does. now im not trying to start anything but give some food for thought...

High fence hunts are not for me. But i would have to say hunting in a 150 acre parcel with high fence and then hunting a parecel with 1000 acres, one might not even know it was fenced in. plus chances of killing deer in a pen with that much land is no different then killing on on state land, only difference would be the size of the deer enclosed in perhaps... with that much acreage i can see hunters going day where they wouldn't even see a deer in that pen with 1000 acres. but for me i still like the true 100% fair chase where those deer can cross roads and hit up food sources on other properties, where in my mind i know it truly is 100% fair Chase. i never did a fence hunt and never will, but for those who thinks its cheating or something, the reality of it is even with a fenced in parcel of land in excess of 1000 acres is alot of land. i cant see it being to different then hunting 1000 acres un fenced unless the deer in with in the fences are un godly big and theres a sh*t load of deer in there with no where to go...

cool deal, thanks WNY -
hey mario, yeah im diehard so rain dont bother me... on the flip side yes it was crowded along with 4 guys on ATV's tearing up the trails less then 200 yards from me. Twise to be exact,i thought Bob held off of the ATV club second week in sept? in any event those guys should be prohibited to enter that land during hunting season and i was not the only one who felt like that. Other then that it was good, just graveyard dead with the deer movment but whats to be expected when the season opens up and the woods go from no people to 20 guys in there in a matter of days. hopefully it cools down over there but im looking forward to this season none the less...
