I hear ya.. I know the routine is the same on the island. It can happen to anyone but unless you literally tell not a living soul, it's something that may happen soon or later. You basically said it, anyone can pull info. So there is no difference from posting a pic sometimes or telling a select few friends. Your buddies may keep secrets but their wives may not. I see you post a slammer here n there but what is the difference of posting say a 130-140 from your TC vs a 160? When I say I don't get the pic thing that's basically what I'm getting at. Why post one and not the other, you know? Don't think I'm ranking on ya or being a tool, I just literally want to know. Maybe it's somehing I'm not thinking about or over looking. I mean I can post big deer all day but the thought of someone doing something to degrade my spot or find it just doesn't cross my mind all that much but the the chance someone else has that deer on cam does. But even in that instance deer are roamers... If someone else has that deer on cam it could be 3 miles away, odds of them finding me or my truck on the exact day I'm in the woods is slim to none. Likely? Sure but the odds are not in their favor... Just askin is all. I mean that thread about that Ohio world record, heck yeah I can see not posting that SOB lol.

I bought a pair of the high rubber ones from field and stream (1000gr) for 100$. I like em alot actually... Keeps me warm in the high teens low 20 with one pair of socks on. Nice and water proof. I didn't think it was going to be as good as they turned out to be since a guy tried to talk me out of them when he saw me holding them. I couldn't afford more at the time and was in a pinch to get something ASAP. But I like them a lot.

Yes I've saw you write a few times that you picked up on a location from a pic. I get that it's not unlikely but giving out more info then you should is shame on the hunter. Who jots maps out and takes pics with say a land mark in the background. Like a specific barn or water tower in the background? I'm sure if one is doing something like that then it wouldn't be far fetched at all. But if I take a pic of a 200" deer while on my driveway or in my garage you telling me someone will find out where I hunt? Shoot if they could id like to meet em. Some guys post big deer some don't... But if a guy shoots a 200 class buck and doesn't say a word about it and doesn't think twice nor cares to show a pic or tell a story about it and he's fine with it then so be it, he really doesn't care he may have shot a record and he's fine with no one knowing. But if a guy shoots it and send pics to buddies and tells a close group of people and would still enter the buck if it's a possible record then it tells me he's not all that secretive about it. I can understand your spot tho on not wanting to post a pic of someone else's deer. But I don't think others are just like you that may have a pic like that. jMO

I think guys who hide the deer and put it on a pedestal are nuts... There are how many shows out there where guys kill huge deer every year and not only post it but have shows revealing more info you could imagine then just a pic. Look at Tiffany and lee or the drurys, they have shows revealing just about everything on their farms you think posting a pic is a sin? I get it's not your deer that fine but to think by people asking where a deer was shot they will find out all they need to know on where this guy shot it? Very rarely will you see a guy say where a deer was shot on Nyantlers site and even if they did who to say its not a false town or county. Like I said you would have to be hard up to dig and dig to find out where a deer was shot I don't know who's worse the one who digs or the guys who's so scared for his spots he won't post a deer. To each his own I guess... I know if I was in so much panic about people finding my spots based on pics I wouldn't be on a hunting forum lol

Who cares what county it was killed in, it's not like their giving up the location of the tree. People can ask all day where a deer is shot doesn't mean people will find the end location. That's crazy... Hunting is a touchy spot for some but you would have to have nothing but time and endless contacts to even dig far enough to find where one hunts. Not sure how it is upstate where someone can post a pic and guys know the exact spot by looking at a tree in the background but on the island it all looks the same lol. Same thick crap with a mix of oaks and pine. If people are so affraid of other findig their spots from a pic, don't send it to anyone! Or take a damn pic in the garage or the back of a pickup on the driveway. Give me a break

Genetics and diet is key to antler growth but diet plays a huge factor. Chances are a 6 point will most likely have more points but the rack will be bigger based on what the deer is eating. Having said that a deer won't always grow more points but it will grow wider, taller thicker and so on, it all depends on the deer. For instance, a small 10 point can become a big 9 point. Or a big 8 point can become an even bigger 8 point.

saw 4 different yearling this morning... 2 bedded near by and 2 others came by within minutes while the other 2 were bedded. WTF are the shooters?? i think that about wraps up my season... at least i shot that 8 point on Halloween when the yearling come in by themselves are the Mamas being tended to by a buck? i usually see the yearling get pushed off when the mature doe are being tended to or the bucks have em corralled up.

It's a more secure method of payment for the buyer and seller. Not many guys will send out money via mail or western union. If I was buying seething and didn't see the seller accepting PayPal, I'd keep looking. Just MO..

nice buck! id be happy with that every season lol who scored it? looks about 35" shy of 182"...could be me... im headed out tomorrow to see if i can knock one down. i havnt seen a shooter in i couldnt tell you how long its been this season.

nice... i heard today that a 21 point was shot on LI within the past few days. heard it from one person, not sure how true it is..
