that makes sense to you? you would have to be a complete idiot or waste of life to shoot a deer, tag it and leave it there for bait... thats my 2 cents
-

i had 2 deer in the freezer, i gave some to family since they love it and kept a good amount. my dog ate about 30lbs of it this year because she loves it and its extremely good for her. im a good sharer... i had her on a venison and sweet potato diet. i dont think killing a deer for yote bait is cool at all nor legal. it was biz who said it but im sure it was a sly comment....

that rack looks in tacked to me... just the curvature throwing you off. from the photo it looks like his left side has more mass then his right?

i dont think its about the bragging rights at all... thats like saying if a guy is pushing to seek a BETTER job that pays more he just wants to brag. what about trying to seek a better life? what about simply challenging yourself and saying your going to shoot either older deer or bigger deer as you evolve as a hunter. sometimes your preferences change, sometimes they dont... i dont see it as bragging... i mean if a guy is clearly saying well show me your big deer, wheres your i posted mine! well then yes thats bragging but i dont see anyone saying that. they are posting deer in a section labeled trail cam pictures lol
-
i dont see it as bragging rights at all. more then half the bucks posted never get harvested by said hunter so whats to brag about? i personally like posting pics and reading peoples reactions to a deer, the same reaction i have when i see it on trail cam for the first time. lets face it, WE ALL LOVE to see people post trail cam pics of big bucks, it gets us pumped for the season and half the time its what drives us to the stand knowing whats running around those woods. if you have guys posting spikes and 4 points all day in the trail cam section that would be exciting? would they be on a level of bragging just for posting it? or because its a small deer we automatically assume there's no bragging behind it? a meat worthy or trophy buck worthy of our tag and freezer is determined by each hunter differently and when its hard hunting who knows when those gears will change and the bar is lowered or if it even will be. i took a 7 point last year that i passed the week before only because my buddy shot a 7 point i let go that day so when the 7 i passed the week before showed up 30 min after my buddy shot his i said, to shoot double 7s on the same day with one of my best friends and share this experience is a trophy hunt all in its self.

i hope you guys get one, especially Anthony. i hope he shoots something good and is enjoying the property. i have been meaning to shoot him a call and see how all is doing. things with selling the house and the move upstate have been kind of nutty lately. please tell him i said hello and good luck this season! i saw that camper he bought through a pic he sent, that thing is sweeet! -
heading out all day sit tomorrow, 30° in the morning! light W wind. this big ones slipping up tomorrow and ill be there to help! i cant wait to be on stand. even if i dont see a shooter i wont even matter, pretty soon we live for the next few weeks, its on... right around now is when these giants start showing up. with increased buck activity that went from zero to 60 in 2 days tells me somethings up.

steve thats a big 4 pnt lol -
dont push hard for tight groups, sling 3 arrows at a time. take a breather, make it fun and dont beat yourself up. concentrate on form and anchoring. sling arrows at a close distance 10-15 yards, build up your confidence pretty quick then step back slowly while taking your time. dont over exert yourself all in one day, shoot a few times a week if you can and make your sessions last no longer then 15 minutes or so. dont shoot for hours, you'll be miserable and frustrated. ive been there before with my confidence level and it doesnt take much to take the wind out your sails... best thing is practice the basics and dont over exert, have fun with it, enjoy it again.

went out around 1130 this morn just to grab my sd card and put a new one in and also just clear another 3 lanes/small pocket areas incase a big one slips in and around one of my other lanes. i also added a few branches to the stand for added concealment. i had too... i was mental over the other years seeing these big ones slip into areas where i had no shot, so i dont want it to happen again this year. this year i am sealing the deal on a shooter! going out thursday, sat/sun... increased buck activity popped up over the last 2 days, multiple bucks and daylight hours. also, mid day activity started at this spot as well. all good signs. rubs popping up and this scrape 100 yards away is getting hit hard, its wide open.

nice pics!

some times second guessing a plan you implemented within yourself and going back on it can play a mental game. especially when you prematurely released your arrow, knocked another and said screw it, im taking him. its mental... sometimes when you advise a plan, stick with it. that arrow release could have messed ya mentally. this sport is extremely mental... i would shoot with the b-head at home or on the range to make sure it really wasnt your gear to be on the safe side.

i dont know how you guys can concentrate on a deer at 30 with 7 pins lol thats way to many pins for my eyes to view...
