  1. I take my vest off before getting in the blind and wrap it around a small shrub next to the blind facing their line at head level. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  2. To the property line? We have a blind setup about 70-100 yards from the line. But facing into our property. Normally I wouldn't be this close for fear of the othersides shots... But out of the 60acres om the property. We only have a huntable 10% to work with. The other side has a stand about 50 yards off the line on another part also facing into their land. 3. Anyone local? Is worth checking out or is it swarmed with orange army. Looking for another place to harvest a doe within my wmu. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  4. So I am going to transition to hang on next year for more mobility over ladder stands... I've been watching videos for how to hang em. I have a rope style tree strap for my climber. Which looks alot like alot of the linesman belts I'm seeing. Can I just use this as my linesman belt? Also I can't find any videos on falls while in a linesman. Does anyone have any insight on this? Or should I also use a another rope tree strap as I put my sticks on. So I'm moving my tether strap and my belt strap up each step? I use lifelines for my stands... But if the linesman belt works good for fall arrest while setting. Then I'll hook my life line to my stand to haul it up while climbing with the linesman. Then I can immediately attach the lifeline thus making the hanging process one trip. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  5. Yeah hanging all season... But easier to relocate to follow the action than a ladder Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  6. Now that looks perfect!!!! Does the seat flip up? Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  7. No deer sightings today. But I did get a nice show and close encounter with another big Brown owl. I think he likes me. Went to the lane the buck walked into yesterday. Cleared some branches in the way to make it more of a shooting lane. Found a dinky old rub on a 2 inch tree. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  8. So I don't know how to identify a fresh track other than whether or not it was there earlier.... And if the track itself is soft or hard... But in wet ground the tracks stay soft for quite a while...... Any pointers? Also still hunting would be great in this snow. But the woods I am in are thick with only 10-15 yard visibility with all the brush..... Even less with all the snow on the branches....... Is still hunting more for open woods with longer sight lines? Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  9. Back in the blind.... Snow is crazy on the trees. Wind is gusting so no stand today... Visibility is reduced. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  10. Definitely following this.... Will u be selling them to members? Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  11. This one? http://m.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=67845716&camp=CSE:GooglePLA:67845716:21804098-DSG:TREESTANDS%2FBLINDS_TREESTANDS%2FBLINDS_TREESTANDS&gclid=CjwKEAiAsMXBBRD71KWOh6fcjRwSJAC5CNE1EuS6UXy0x6wxbn3GJqr-QBv64Apqv15tAgnhC78aMBoCcOfw_wcB Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  12. So for the afternoon hunt I switched with my buddy. He took the blind and I took the stand.... Big mistake.... Within 2 hours I was soaked to the bone from the wet snow soaking through and melting off the tree.... I radioed him to tell him to expect company..... Got settled into the blind with him. About an hour later her spots movement.... It's a buck at 60 yards through the scrub... It stops in space where we have a clear shot.... He spotted it so he's up. Click. Dud shell..... I get into the scope to shoot and it's fogged all to hell.... The deer takes a step. My buddy shoots. It's a miss.... Deer takes another step. And slowly walks off into the brush. Must not have been his time.... Froze my soaking wet self off until dark. No more sightings...... Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  13. And neighbor got another one. They average 3 shots for a deer Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  14. Winter Wonderland here in 6p... 1 inch. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  15. Definitely sitting the blind. But I'll be out dawn to dusk. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  16. Took a 2 hr lunch. Back in the blind. I sure hope the neighbors see my size xxl blaze orange vest spread across a shrub next to me facing their line... They got 5 guys out there Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  17. Sweating. Taking lunch before I head back in Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  18. Well neighbor just got a basket 6... About 70 yards from my blind. So moving to another end of the property Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  19. Probably touching 30 shots here in 6r... 31.... All over this small Valley though. Nothing truly close enough to push my way.... Started 30mins before legal. Buddy had 2 under him. No shot. Supposedly headed my way. That was 40 minutes ago...and I'm only 2-300 yards away Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  20. I always wear an orange vest. When it gets cold I swap out the camo beanie for an orange one. I'll be sitting in a blind all weekend. So I am going to wrap my vest around the tree next to the blind between myself and the neighbors land Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  21. Savage axis 2 camo. 3x9x40 weaver. . 308. Remington round nose soft points. The round nose shoot better than the pointed ones. And better than some Winchester something or others I bought..... If I have the cash flow next year. I'm going to have the barrell cut down to 18 or 16 inches from 22. I love me a lightweight rifle. And probably a better scope with a bigger diameter. Savage shoots a good 2-3inch group at 100 yards. She isn't a piece of art. But she is lightweight which is what I'm about. Carries over from backpacking. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  22. 6 total. As that's what my gunstock she'll holder carrys Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  23. I read... Just finished my bow season book. Now on to gun season. The man in high castle Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  24. On a plus. I got to see a large brown owl swoop through the trees. U can imagine my disappointment as I turned and saw it after catching brown movement in my peripheral. I saw it again apparently fighting? With another of equal size about 5 minutes later Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
  25. And yonder the sun doth set upon my 2nd bow season...... Tag soup again. But I did at least get to shoot... If only I hadn't dropped my arm. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk
