    Exactly. How many teachers have been labeled "heroes" after these mass shootings by shielding their students from the gunmen but end up dead in doing so? If they had access to a sidearm, they might be alive and the shooter dead or at least injured. And more lives might be saved.

    I turned it on earlier and could hear "skip" on channel 6, lots of southern accent coming from the guys I heard. The cell phone came around and cb just faded away I guess, but it is a hobby for some or maybe truck drivers still.

    I was at my sisters for coffee today, and she said she found box of some old things of mine I stored there years ago. I had forgotten about it long time ago...and inside was one of my old radios from the early 1980's. It was my 40 channel Realistic C.B. Radio with attached mic. The antenna is almost 4 ft long and takes 10 AA batteries. I put some batteries in it and still in good shape. We used to use these down at the old hunting camp, and just about everyone had a regular c.b. in their car then. Things sure have changed, and size and technology left this old radio in the storage box. The size of the FMRS radios today compared to the old cb sure is obvious. Does anybody remember using these way back then? And what was your "handle" that you used. I remember using "Green Giant" ......Break 19 for a radio check....LOL

    I get the Spectrum stream of channels thru my Roku player for 19.95 a month. I get both Rochester and Buffalo local stations ( and I'm right on the Niagara, Orleans County border) and bunch other USA , History, A&E, Discovery etc. For the price I am quite satisfied. Check into it, you might be satisfied Eddie.

    Thanks everyone for your thoughts. They say time heals and I believe that. The love our pets give is always unconditional and are part of the family.
