It belongs in gun season .

I start with my havalon and cut the chest down to the sternum ,then I get to the belly and already have a good idea where the skin is so I don't cut any intestines. I use the havalon bone saw to cut the pelvis bone ,I stand on the legs and pull up on the tail , this will keep the legs spread fully to the sides .

Walked almost 3.5 miles today ,saw no deer and no fresh tracks .

Most people wouldn't.

I'd put a decoy in a field and hide out til he stops to shoot it. You could either sneak up and steal his car or just confront him.

I thought the same thing about roads ,the roads suck a fat one in this state. I just discovered one of my summer rims is bent and needs to be replaced.

I really like my Bushnell with the 600 DOA reticle ,I've only shot it at 300 yards so far but it was accurate to 300.

My parents bought a place in Florida last year to stay during the winter ,they already regret moving there . I think most of the reason people leave is because of the grass is greener mentality ,they make up reasons for leaving the state to make up for their inability to ever be satisfied. My mom didn't like when I told her that.

That's a complete crock. Not all hunters are trying to make a perfect shot . They try pushing a bullet through stuff they have no business shooting through. A guy is better off practicing with his firearm and making closer shots then using a larger caliber to make up for his lack of marksmanship.

Why buy new components? Most people just swap them over .

If you flinch from shooting the gun you take in the woods hunting then you need to leave the woods until you can figure it out ,no excuse to blame flinching on a shot at an animal.

I remember you guys saying you hunt together , I just meant in general about people doing some awful things in the name of shooting a deer. My buddy shot a nice one this year and even the guy doing the mount is getting phone calls of people trying to get the deer because they claim he was trespassing or hunting at night ,they even contacted the DEC.

I see your point , unfortunately, deer bring out the worst in people sometimes.

Are the saltwater ones super nasty that everyone gets pissed when you catch one? If so then the same ones. The power plant closes at sunset or there abouts . I've spent many hours fishing from shore down there from the power plant up to the whirlpool rapids . I got down there once this year before archery season opened and the water level was so high that all my spots i used to fish didnt exist . Like i said before ,you can use a twister with an egg sinker above the swivel and about 18 inch leader ,the weight will vary depending on the current you are fishing . Keep in mind ,that water is going around 30 MPH ,the only method that works from shore is to cast upstream and let the current do the work . You can use fire tiger vibrax as well this time of year. Other things to try are chrome KO wobblers or chrome little cleos.

I'm on a mission to find a closer hunting spot before next year. The 2 hour drive there is getting old.

I agree ,A good shot is easy to tell ,either it drops instantly or does the drunk walk shortly after the shot . Anything else and you just don't really know how well the shot really was.

One more observation from my end . In years past ,by this time of the season,deer activity is down to zero . I have been still seeing the same groups of doe now that i did during archery . The only major change i have noticed was on the neighboring property ,a couple years ago he logged a section ,now that section is thick with thorns and the deer seem to really enjoy bedding in there .

The only time we see bigger bucks on the cams is during the summer months but it will only be a one time deal ,like they're just passing through. There is some pines next to my buddies house that will get shredded every year , i'm talking some really big trees. We put cameras down there and never catch the culprit , again ,it's like a one time deal.
