I bought a Rhino blind a few years ago for an older hunter where I hunt. I set it up and left it up for the entire season but he nor anybody else used it that year. It appeared to be very well made and easy to set up. It isn't a lightweight option though if that's important.

Almost a Christmas Miracle......

Almost as good as getting a trail cam video of a buck you killed........

I think “war” is too strong of a word.......this stuff isn’t that big a deal in my life and I’m not going to read things that just boggle my mind with stupidity. I’m not calling the two posters stupid, just 90% of their content is. Bill can bring things of interest to the site but the other guy has ZERO to offer to the group.

And the backstraps are unscathed? Not a chance.......

So as much as I like the Barnes TTSX mentioned above I only use it in my .243 Winchester. That little 80gr bullet is a bulldozer that kills way out of proportion to it's weight. Note the bullet in my avatar, it was recovered from the hind quarter of a Pennsylvania doe, shot head on at about 235 yards IIRC. I found the mushroomed bullet while preparing the "football" roast for dinner. Oh and it weights 80 grains still even though the little blue tip is gone. Yea, it didn't exit but most do.......

Yowza that's some fine shooting........

I agree, I like a shoulder shot once in a while too. Quartering to or away, I'll happily filet meat off the neck right up to the ears to make up for a blown shoulder.

And then there were two.......Merry Christmas fellas

Like a bug to a light or a fly to shit, here he is.

My buddy has old metal folding chairs hanging from tree branch stubs around his properties. Also a few 7 gallon steel buckets with lids (gray in color) hang in various spots too............ Most but not all of these locations are "has been" spots, meaning I wouldn't waste my time perched on one.

If you're shooting deer (or any game) for the table and it's NOT already wounded, I assume you wouldn't take that shot? The loss of edible meat with a Texas Heart shot negates any common sense reason for pulling one off on a un-wounded animal. Now if I had a wounded animal that I thought could get away and become unrecoverable, well then I'd surly plug one in.

LOL that was supposed to say "Ghillie" suit.

All the boxes are checked....this time. Hopefully this puts an end to my suffering.

For two holes almost every time there's one choice: Barnes TTSX (or some other variant of the X).

How easy is it to put on your harness and then slip the tether through the slot in the jacket? And then each time you pull your jacket off you have to start over? IE taking a dump? Peeling off a layer of clothing etc?

Deer like rain..... -
Rare is the person that practices with ANY firearm over 100 yards......... Good luck this morning.

It's more of a "swagger"........ LOL

I believe the limp is due to the incredibly large balls he had.............HAD.
-
A couple weeks before I shot him........looks like he's limping a bit? Maybe that's why he was only going 73mph when I shot him?!?!

I hunt 9H also and use my smokeless ML'r exclusively.........IIRC I haven't used a shotgun in almost 15 years. And DON'T miss it a bit. That said, I haven't come up with a reason to ever carry a shotgun loaded with 'punkin' balls in the deer woods since I started toting the rifle in rifle-legal counties opened in recent years. I enjoy rifles and their accuracy so much I'd happily take a spike buck at 40 yards with a rifle than a 10 point at the same distance with a slug gun....honest. I haven't sold my slug gun yet (Ithaca Model 87 DS II and Leupold VXII 2-7) in case I win the MEGA LOTTO and buy a large estate down the road from Treeguy's house and am inundated with big bucks like him. Maybe I should sell it??

Mud is what scares me.........

Good old electrical tape is what I use. Tape an extra piece or two to the side of the barrel for spares in the field. Centerfire Rifles get it too....
