  1. So you go walking around the woods/brush with a bow and find it gets hung up? Amazing...... That my friend is elementary. Sorry
  2. Ahh OK. Not a great reason to take up ML'r hunting but whatever works for you.
  3. The tough part of archery hunting, most of us have sadly been there and done that. Like the tracker said, hopefully he's back to chasing tail as we speak
  4. Local Fire Chief (Ret) from the volunteer Getzville NY fireman passed away from 9/11 related illness. I had the pleasure of meeting him 6 months ago as he had a small firearms business and shipped a .38 special for me. One heck of a nice guy and saddened to hear of his passing............. https://buffalonews.com/2019/11/02/irving-a-isenberg-55-former-getzville-fire-chief-who-deployed-to-ground-zero/
  5. Attendance doesn’t always make the student. You still have lots of time......
  6. I never doubted it’d happen!! Nice going Dan. Send pics to my email if you want, I can get them up tonight.
  7. The OP didn’t ask about a long range gun.
  8. You say you're only kidding but I'd just like to point out that the buck I killed (2nd from left on bottom, yard hunting) was shot in the late afternoon and not recovered till 9:18pm, far from the spot of 'hero' shot. The picture below was taken as soon as I found him in case I had to abandon him during the drag out in the darkness down the steep hill. I had filled out my tag and was concerned I might have to leave him in case I had trouble with my knee or ankle on the pull out. The trip out was as bad as I expected and to be honest, I had no business hunting that side hill in my condition, especially in the afternoon. Leaving the buck till morning wasn't an option due to coyote infestation. All that said, I generally take great pride in my field pics, always trying to do the animal proud in an ungutted position. All via self timers on my camera and cell phone. Here's in the field..... And this is in the barn. Maybe you can see the fatigue in my eyes? All that said, a "yard hunting" buck does have some appeal.......
  9. As Biz would say.......soft tape. Beauty of a buck, congratulations to the lucky hunter.
  10. I don't know if the people on this forum grasp how sensible the above post is; here you have fellow explaining in easy to understand terms the simple truth. Pay attention to his writings.......
  11. Great buck, any other pics of him? (Congrats!!)
  12. My computer is giving me trouble or this would be a much longer story. Story is long and ugly as late night gutting and dragging is way over rated......... Shot him around 4pm and the hit looked good. Turned out it was liver hit and took longer to die. I recovered him around 9:20pm and got him in the barn at 10:15pm. (I took the pics this morning)
  13. Nice job Toe-mass, nice when all goes as planned.
  14. At least you tried them. There’s a number of different variations so keep trying, you may find one that you really like.
  15. Thankfully there's still some real men in this world............
  16. Jeez, you TOO? Come on man...............
  17. Does Howdy Doody have wooden balls? Hell yes........great addition to every stand I use. Heck, even my ladder stand has one.
  18. I just pounded out a tin of King Oscar Mediterranean Style sardines with some good crackers as a delivery system. Man do I love them on occasion. It's been a year or so and for some reason (the wife was at a wake and dinner had to wait, lol) I figured tonight was a good night. They were excellent......... Maybe I'm part racoon? (Don't get any ideas CulverCreek) You like sardines?? I also really like smoked mussels!
  19. Nahhh, just gas. Very common in my world.
