  1. Other than Left Fields and Culver's Sunday, sounds like plenty had a fair day. I'll pose the same question next Sunday.....take notes.
  2. The barred owl is one of the absolute coolest critters out there, BAR none.........I love their call and like Dan said, how they will follow you around the spring woods.
  3. It was a pretty small owl, doubt it was a GH.
  4. This picture is from late in gun season IIRC........it was on the ground and I was in the truck, driving down a grass farm lane. I didn't Google it; what kind is it?
  5. Dandy! Nice to have a good one make it through the season.........hopefully he sees 10/1/2019
  6. Oh and no other poles in the line look like this......
  7. This telephone pole is off the beaten path and within 30 yards of where I have had a couple bears on trail cam (and one that chewed on the camera) but never walked by this pole. I'd bet dollars to donuts that these gouge marks are from a bear. The highest ones are right at 6' and they have torn big chunks out of the pole. Like a buck rub from a couple years ago, the gouges in one area are older that others. I know the pole isn't alive like a tree but I think it's just the weathering process on the pole. Very cool in my book...... Check out the gouges in the number "one"........
  8. This is a particularly cool picture. I came across this bed and it's got to be one smart deer; the brush on the backside is blocking southwest/west winds (and some snow of course) for a pleasant siesta.
  9. Come on man.......pull it together.
  10. Great weather today for a multitude of outdoor activities. Sure, way too much snow in some areas but others a guy/gal could get into the woods and knock the stink off.........I went down to my buddies place alone to pull trail cam cards, chain saw a couple dead trees along the driveway and just get out for a walk. I'm sure some downhill skied or rode snow machines. Others may have cross country skied, strapped on the snowshoes or ice skated. How about sledding with the kiddo's? Hopefully you all got out if you could. I'll post a cool picture or two in a bit from my day.
  11. Wow, 20 minutes and no response; they must be swappin' spit.
  12. I don’t think you’ll need your bag......
  13. I’m going to be hearing strange noises in my neighborhood I bet.
  14. Late to the party but Happy Birthday!!
  15. Sounds like this is shaping up to be a good time. Hope to see some pics............
  16. I said I was in.......(the DVR already has that programed in)
  17. Let me check my social calendar and I'll get back to you............ Freaking clear as a bell Tuesday at 5pm, I'm in.
  18. Like comparing a .308 Winchester to a .300 Win Mag. Or a 257 Roberts to a 257 Weatherby Or a 7mm-08 to a 7mm Mag Blah blah blah I'll take the sweet easy shooting rounds for any long range shooting I'll ever do in NYS OR out west. Most guys are real dreamers with their big magnum rounds.......I don't own a 6.5 Creedmoor but do own a 260 Remington and enjoy shooting it.
  19. I agree 100%......I froze my nuts off today and can't warm up now.

    EUCHRE

I was forced to learn back in the early 80's while traveling to Texas via motor home with great friends from Clarence. Maybe "forced" is too harsh a word but they needed another guy and I was IT! I played for a few years back in those days but haven't played in many years. I know a bunch of guys that love to play, including my FIL. He started a euchre club and they play once a week and oh yea, he's in an assisted living facility.
  21. Lock it up now, she’s dealt. Shaky but dealt....... (long story but it went to a very good home)
  22. I like where this is going.........you guys sleep on it and let me know in the morning. Don't lock it up yet, mods.
  23. Generous offer but late Saturday morning I have a funeral. Also I have a cap on my p/u that I'm not taking off...........
  24. I had some time today and figured I'd mess around with the electric start. I went to Saville's up on Harlem Rd and got a couple of the proper lower starter bolts and screwed them in. The threads weren't buggered up as I suspected. I used some Ford dealer issued blue loctite and snugged them up. She fired RTFU and I blew the driveway and sidewalk. So NOW........the price is back up to $150 here and I just listed it on Craigslist for $200 If somebody here can use it, great. (PS, I have this offered to a member here who talked with his neighbor but I haven't heard back yet. He may, may not snatch this up. First come, first served. I'm just trying to save somebody else a heart attack)
