Email that came last night from our friend and staunch promoter of dove hunting in New York State, Mike Rossi: "On January 3rd Senator O'Mara introduced a Senate version of the dove bill, S07202. It was also co-sponsored by Senator Seward and Senator Ranzenhofer. In the next week or two be sure to call Governor Cuomo's office and ask him to take executive action on this bill during this year's budget. If the governor does not take executive action then it's going to be very important for the next 6 months, up until early June, if necessary, that everybody calls every member of the legislature multiple times. We basically have until June to get this done. I asked that Fred Neff verifies this, but I'm pretty sure that this is the first time in New York's history that there was a dove Bill sponsored in both Chambers? " How about this, all you bird dog owners here in NY just might get a dove hunting season yet. I'll have to rethink my position on getting another lab if this happens!! (it'll be a yellow though as I think they can take the heat better than a black!)

We had an incredibly close call three years ago at Rt 31 & Rt 98 in Lockport............sitting at the light and a very bad accident happened right in front of us. I had stopped short of the crosswalk stripe by a car (Tacoma) length and one of the cars shot right by us in the spot where we should have been. I don't know what made me stop short at the light?? Good thing......

Terribly bored in these conditions..........customers don't want things done now. We have a pretty good backlog of work to do, 50% deposits in hand. I have some work lined up for next Friday as the weather looks like it could be OK, for now. May take wife for breakfast tomorrow, tired of going out for lunch.

Soooooo, today I'm with my boss, heading for Kalamata's in Lockport to meet a fellow for some lunch. We are just south of Fred Zdyb's cheap cash only fuel joint on the left side of the road and BAM..two cars slam into each other in the fuel stations driveway and end up in a snow bank. We kept going as there were plenty of people to help out and it appeared to be somewhat minor. Our direction of travel and sloppy roads weren't going to help us either. Tough week on Rt 78...................
