One change yo the menu; Lipton Onion Soup Mix was put over top of the roast right out of the bag (dry) and it was perfection! Been quite a while since we've had a pork roast. For the past 5-6 years it's always been Wegman's pork tender loin in their Club Pack, the best value in meat section. We put the 'kraut (drained) in the pan first then put a a rack in to hold the meat up over the 'kraut. 2 hours at 350 for a 3lb boneless roast. Darn good!

Funny thing........a couple times we've been headed there but detoured to Swiston's as it's a known commodity and I hate experiments. On a somewhat related tangent.........just over the canal in North Tonawanda is a wonderful restaurant called Webster's. I've been there a couple times and it is fine dining at a fair price. No gambles here, trust me. http://webstersbistro.com/

Call To Action - Dove Related
Lawdwaz replied to mike rossi's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Done! I printed a region 9 and a region 8. I'll make copies of both and have friends (that aren't the most proactive) in the appropriate regions sign and send in. Mine will be in the mail tomorrow.................. -
I'll do that and yes, we need to hook up again!

Dang......I love ketchup on my B-O-W. There is a place in Tonawanda called "Swiston's" that only has chili and B-O-W, no burgers or fries. As a matter of fact, I think I have a quick pic here......
-
Seems I do remember that place. Don't know if I ever ate there???

Neat stuff Dan! Nothing as cool as that for me although I did send a letter to Jim Shockey back in the mid 90's looking for info. on his Vancouver Island bear hunts. He replied with a very nice hand written letter on his company stationary. I don't think I kept the letter which is odd because I usually keep all those types of things. The price of his hunts even then was staggering.....For many years I'd read his articles in Big Buck Magazine, long before he was a TV star.

Here's to 2016! Hopefully you really cork 'em in the New Year, Dom. Happy New Year to you & yours.

I don't shoot often enough and I'm sad to say that. The CF rifles get the most seat time and thats probably 12+ trips a year to the club I belong to, Niagara County Sportsmans. I also shoot those same rifles at my friends place in the Finger Lakes a bunch times each year. There I'm usually banging steel plates............... .22's rarely get any lovin' any more, sadly. Handguns see occasional range time when I can at local ranges. Archery gets a fair amount but also NOT enough. My life needs some changes...............................................

Not me.

Road Trip!! Dan. I'll pick you up in about 5 hours. Brew some coffee.

Hey man, have a great night! Any special plans for the evening?

Cool! Congrats on your banded goose. What info did they give you or will they have to mail you the information? It's been a long time since I shot a banded bird............... Now go get a truck and a dog.

Not sure who Ladwaz is but I sure like it! Wow, what a Dove shoot!!!!!! That is a great looking dog, quite a handful I'd bet. The energy level of a 3 year old male has got to be unreal and I'm sure his name is fitting. My neighbors would freak if I brought that stud home. They're used to sweet old Jenny, sniffing butts and cool as a cucumber. Man would Tank tear things up!! That is a fine looking tailgate full of fun. Can't wait to do that here in New York State!

Eerily quiet as I suspected. Lots of big talkers with great advice here..... You want to kill coyotes; get a bunch of dogs. Train them well, get GPS collars, secure permission to VAST tracs of land, wait for snow then gather a bunch of friends to seal off escape routes. You might get more than ONE a year then. Or trap; secure permission to VAST tracts of land, buy a pile of traps, gather the necessary bait, scout the farms for sign, set the traps, check the traps every 24 hours. You MIGHT get one a year until you figure out how it's done. There's a reason most guys have only killed a couple, cause they (like me) shoot them as a target of opportunity while deer hunting and even then it's darn tough. The only reason I've even killed the ones I've got is because there was snow on the ground, I doubt I'd have ever got them with bare ground. OK, I'm done. Happy New Year.

Damn Biz, I never thought of it like that! I'm going out on a limb and say this: Considering I've been with the same gal (and true to her) for 26 years, see my doctor twice a year for all the blood work & necessary shots and drink just enough bourbon to kill any badass germs I might contract in day to day contact I wouldn't worry a bit. You will also (at no extra charge) get my own personal guarantee. That guarantee is kind of long winded mumbo jumbo but in really boils down to three minutes/three miles coverage. (provided through AARP of course) Just send me the money ya cheap bastid............
