Ha! I remember that like it was yesterday!! I've been more choosy since then but I think it's due to the fact that the trail cam has showed me what is (or SHOULD be) hanging out. Funny though, most of the bigger deer I've shot (like the buck above!) I've never laid eyes on until I corked 'em. I'll always be a lover of the lowly spiker!!

Congrats to your buddy but we need some more background.......please. We have recently had a forum member post things that were a bit misleading so some facts would be great. Bow, gun or motor vehicle? Did your buddy have any field shots you can hang? Garage floor shots don't do the beast justice, IMO. Any weight numbers that you know of? Hopefully your buddy gets him aged along..........inquiring minds want to know.

Amen brother! I've seen a fair amount in Pennsylvania while deer hunting, dove hunting and spring gobbler hunting but never seen on here in NYS. I ran into tracks in the snow back in '02 or '03 and then I had one munch on a trail cam about 6 years ago giving me a picture of the top of its head. It wasn't much of a pic so I don't really count it!

Woot!!!! Now they are calling for a rain/snow mix. They can keep the wind! I remember one opening day probably 15 years ago that we had gale force winds, I mean hang the heck on and go for a ride winds. The old Screaming Eagle stand was a pretty small perch for me that day. Sometime after lunch I had to climb down and take OUT a contact lens that got some crud under it. I thought for sure it was FUBAR as I had no drops to get it re-hydrated. A little saliva got me back in business and I climbed back up for the rest of the "ride".

I try hard to capture the memories. I almost always have the camera and small UltraPod either in the truck or in my pack. Lots of times when I know I've made a killing shot I still go back to the truck to retrieve the gear, just to give the deer a few more minutes. Sometimes it takes many many 5 shot bursts with the self timer to get a good picture. Rarely do I have somebody take pics for me and when they DO take the pics, they generally suck. My timer shots are better by a mile..........in my slightly humble opinion. last spring I had a camera without an SD card. I had to use the Iphone camera self timer perched in the barrel of my binos for a cradle. Sweet move.............

I've been watching multiple internet weather outlets for opening day weather predictions and they have been all over the place! IIRC the high as predicted a few days agp was supposed to be 58........NOW the are calling for a high of 41. PERFECT!! Let's see where it goes in the next couple days..................................

I've been hoping for a bear on the trail cam and finally got one! It isn't much of a bear but it's a BEAR!! Honestly I was going to start a post on here a couple weeks ago saying how much I wished I'd get a bear on the camera but never got around to it. I about crapped my pants when I hit PLAY............. I probably should have edited it so you don't have to suffer through dead space............. BEAR!!!!!.AVI
