  1. Atta boy! I bet it was a rush for you...... What how are you using now? Seems like only yesterday you were getting a second hand how from Culvercreek I think, now look at you!! We will have to catch up over the phone again, maybe Sunday?? Congratulations again.
  2. Hey G..................Happy Birthday!
  3. You can write so you must be able to read, yes? Read the syllabus and get back to us with your findings..........
  4. Sure, I remember the Baker Stand but fortunately never rode the elevator. My first non-semi-permanent stand was a Loc On. I think I bought it in 1984 or so.........what a POS.
  5. After I took the picture I straightened out the crooked stick.............. The stick in the chest cavity help to let the hot air out a bit faster as...............warm air rises/cold air falls.
  6. This morning my one of the crew chiefs sent me a text. He was on his way to the job site and a car had just corked a nice buck.....the cops and the distraught young lady were standing there looking at the damage and my guy pulls up and inquires about the final resting place of said buck. The heat said hey buddy, it's yours if you want it! So guess who gets to do the gutting?? The police tagged it and it was quickly transported back to the shop where I dressed t off PDQ. Although I had a change of clothes with me I somehow did the most perfectly clean gutting job of my life! WTH MAN? When it's my deer I'm a bloody mess. 10 minutes later it was propped open and cooling. My hands and knife were rinsed off in the quite possibly polluted ditch water and we were back to work!! It was a darn shame because it was a VERY respectable East Amherst buck...................but at least it didn't go to waste.
  7. With my stand......no problem. It REALLY digs. Treewalker....................... Belo's last sentence is a "no brainer" but I'm sure many here DON'T use a lifeline with their climbers.
  8. I've heard it before but not as long a cadence as that. I bet a 10 day course of my Omeprazole would do him wonders, if not he better see a gastrointestinal Doctor. (As a matter of fact we do have one here that is a member)
  9. Ahhhh, I'm confused.............are you insinuating that Mr VJP DIDN'T kill that deer? Why would he hang a picture of a deer heart that was pulled from another persons post? That would be pretty lame and I seriously doubt he'd do that.
  10. Damn nice shot VJP! I didn't know you bow hunted? Lets see a picture of the deer; buck or doe? Almost looks as good as mine from Saturday.......................................
  11. Yaaa, so what did you come up with for ages??
  12. Just saw this...................Hope you had a good B-day!
  13. I wanna know what's under the blanket? PS cute kid too!
  14. 9H Western NY......East Aurora to be kind of exact.
  15. 205lbs dressed AND witnessed. I'd have honestly thought more but am thankful he wasn't TOO much heavier...................I'd have started eating him right there & then to lighten the load.
  16. Don't even go there.................
  17. The buck I shot yesterday decided to pull the plug at the very back of the neighbors land. To drag it out via their VERY nicely manicured trail and across the side of their lawn would have been a huge advantage and saved a ton of time and months of my life... The lady whose land I hunt offered to call the adjoining neighbor and secure permission. Unfortunately the man of the family said if it was up to him, no sweat but it was NOT up to him but his wife and she said NFW. He said we could go get the deer but not go across the lawn. I was grateful to NOT have any issues with going on to get the deer at that point, at least I didn't loose it.
  18. Curious if anybody here has used a service for cementum aging of a deer and the associated costs involved? Thanks........
  19. I took the "rough" cape to the taxi-dude (Bernie Seitz) this morning. I asked him to save the lower jaw for me as I'd like to have it aged. He called me a couple hours later and said he had caped it all out and I could swing by and p/u the lower jaw and horns. We were still in the area and buzzed over to grab the goods. His age estimate is 7.5 years old and the ROUGH green score on the antlers was 138" gross and 123 4/8" net. I'm pretty happy with the numbers......................... The BEST part of the entire deal is that I made a great shot. I've blown some gimme's before, I promise you. Some other pics........
  20. I don't know how you guys (Core) can even type after shooting one! I just about come unglued when I make a good shot. Congrats Core.
