I'm a skinner also. These days all I'll do with my birds is grind them up and make the FAMOUS T.MEYERS TURKEY TETRAZZINI recipe. If you've never made it, condolences. I will NEVER do anything different with a wild turkey. As always, YMMV.

It's a pipe dream for folks calling for this ban. They should look for another way to hurt Colorado DOW other than this. Guys/gals are NOT going to stay home from a hunt in any state to make a point. Me, I'll boycott Colorado by NOT applying again. (Same as I've done for the last 7 or 8 years) Like the people here in NYS saying to NOT buy a hunting license this year to send a message to Cuomo, good luck with that. If hunting is as important to you as it is to me, you'll find another way to "send the message".

Loctite for scope mounts ??

I know many do use it but it isn't necessary. I've been mounting scopes for myself, family & friends for 30 years and never used anything other than elbow grease. As John Barsness says; tight, not farmer tight! -
That bird was probably EIGHT years old? Good heavens.......... He had to at least be looking at his third birthday when he was banded with spurs like that, no? Very eye opening! Congrats again.

I've seen in the past that they have the same guts inside on different web sites. I didn't know if you knew for sure. I have one of each and both are very nice. Both of mine take 8 batteries, 12 is really something!

A friend killed a buck on opening day in PA. (Tioga County) years ago and when he walked up to it both horns were off it and laying right there! About ten years ago I killed a nice little 8pt on the second last day of gun season in Canadice (Ontario County) and it was 6* above zero. When he hit the ground he thrashed around for a few seconds before expiring and knocked off one side. I grabbed the horn and started dragging. Half way to the truck the other side popped off. Damn the luck.............

I have a couple places that I hunt 'chucks down in Wyoming County and there sure aren't the numbers there were 20 years ago, sadly. Fill in holes? Hell, I dig the at night when the farmer is sleeping to invite more in..................<grin>
