Got bit by the residential bug 2nite. Hunting in my back yrd and someone decided 4wheeling around in trucks along the field edge at 6pm would be fun. The downfalls of tight res quarters.

Check the cam in my back yrd just now. Wish I was in my stand at 5:47 last night...either a 9 or 10pt visiting one of my small food plots a chip shot from my stand. Ill hope he repeats 2night!!

All this bed hunting makes me think of an article I read by Don Higgins. Basically he said a lot of beginners have early hunting success because they just don't know better. They will do a lot of things veteran hunters wouldn't think of doing. Sometimes I think we all are guilty of being to conservative. Anyway its one of the few articles that sticks with me.

Last yr I got glasses but didn't hunt with them. Now im so use to them they are a must. This yr I had to learn how to shoot with them. With a little adjustment im good to go. I think you will be fine. I have an eye doc appt sat and will be exploring contacts then. My biggest issue afield is seeing deer far off, I have to slide my glasses on top of my head to look thru my bino's then slide my glasses back on. Its to much movement.

Im with u shawn.....I shot a nice buck two yrs ago. Had to have clipped the top of one lung. Had spotty blood for 200yrds then nothing. Got him on t cam a week later. Deff tough animals. Joe good luck in the am. Keep an eye out for him back tracking too.

Im not big fan of waiting till the morning. What did the blood trail look like? Id go back out. Deff choose better shots!! Good luck!!

have you shot with the same arrow?? I was at 3. One doe, a 7pt and an 8pt. Then the next season I had a nice buck come in I drew to early in my desperation to hold it while the buck had turned and was heading right towards me I rested my lower cam on a limb. The buck turned I released and the arrow went flying ( I had forgot to get the cam off limb) never did find it. After last weekend im back to one!!

Definition of insanity...doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Please don't take as sarcasm. It sounds like ur setup is a dead giveaway. Find out their path to your location and setup there. Im 6'5 260lb I stick out like a sore thumb on the ground.

Im with Jeremy, ill hit the grunt call and keep moving. It makes me think about all the time I climb into the stand and within minutes there are deer coming thru.
