  1. I found one the other day, but usually they will start around the middle of this month, my two always a scrape spots are untouched so far.
  2. You have to see the evidence to access what happened. Ill check the impact site after around thirty minutes to decide the course from there. Ive been bit by the coyote bug before and would hate to leave over night. If you haven't had a deer tore up by yotes your lucky but your odds are increasing.
  3. Ok, I have had the cam on this since late September. I have had 0 bucks walk over to it until yesterday. I set a stand just NE of this scrape the first deer season hunting it. Its a great spot and having this scrape here makes it a gem of a spot. So this is the buck my brother shot yesterday. Its literally moments before he shot it. He is the first one who came over to it. Ill give myself a little credit for helping him on that hunt.
  4. Cams by oaks have produced a ton of activity for me. Deer are always moving you just have to find them, my bro shot his buck after 9am yesterday.
  5. Well it doesn't sound like the shoulder shot I did a few years ago. My arrow was right there broken off just after the bh. There was blood for a few hundred yards then it eventually stopped. There has to be some sign at impact. Ive had ones where there was no blood for 10-15yrds.
  6. My brother tested me around 9:20 just shot big buck. He waited 30min grabbed the arrow and backed out. He said it looked a little low, it was a 28yrd shot. We met up at my dad's and waited 2hrs and headed in to start the track. We followed the trail and finally found blood, not much though, we maybe went 15yards and we jumped him so we backed right out. Lucky for us our neighbor is an expert tracker and volunteers for deer search. We gave him a call and he was headed back from two calls, both times he recovered. About 3:30 we hit the trail with his dog. My wife dropped off my 8yr old son to tag along. Dog follows trail right off the bat, found his initial bed not much blood. About 150yrds later we jumped him and he takes off fast. Now the bloods pumping and he's leaving a decent trail not that the dogs needed much. We decide to press a little further, another 100 yards or so later u can see where he would stop so we kept going. Shortly after the dog does an quick right towards a ravine. My son and I stay back. I'm thinking the buck might have dropped into the gully, then my son says dad the deers right here and points to my left and it 5yrds away just laying there with his head up unable to move so we put a quick finish on him. Looks like he clipped one lung and maybe the liver. I have no cam pics of him. He did walk my camera seconds before my bro shot him. It's the best one off our land and out of a stand location I picked! He maxed out the 200lb scale, dressed out 175.
  7. Well bumped him 15yrds into tracking. Damn luckily my neighbor is an expert tracker. Here is some blood.
  8. Brother shot nice buck, thinks he put a clean shot, waiting for him to sneak out and meet me on the other side of property. Let's hope it's an easy track
  9. It is freaking dark in these woods, I feel like I'm hunting the last half hour. Between breeze and dense canopy I won't hear or see a deer till it's on top of me
  10. Checked cam by stand and my #1 buck hasn't come by since 10/4 that means he is due to meet me tonight.
  11. Have a great wind to get after my #1 hit lister this afternoon, first evening hunt in this stand.
  12. Checked cam this am on a oak flat, loaded with day time pics, just about all doe.
  13. Just me and an owl thus far, he hasn't had any luck either.
  14. Black Friday is the best time to grab one!!
  15. WW, and when everything else is brown and dead this stuffs still green!
  16. Sorry to hear, if you liked your chevy than you'll love a ford!! My 99 f-150 had 180k when I traded her in 3yrs ago.
  17. I got out of work earlier than planned, so in headed home thinking lawns mowed, son doesn't have football and I'm now going hunting. 3 doe in driveway and 2 more by pond, should be a good night.
  18. I understand u weren't talking to me, u make some good points but am llc can protected from both sides. You can also get some tax breaks and write off expenses. If you have a plan u may not need ins.
  19. Did u read my post, just the one reason I mentioned should be enough. What happens if one of the two die then what? Have a plan it pays off.
