  1. Looks cool right now
  2. 2nd week of nov for me (nov 5th-13th). I have so many friend who pass up this time and save it for the first week of gun. I keep telling them their nuts but what do I know.
  3. Ok for me I have 3 heads on the wall, two in the morning and one in the evening. The two from the morning came from a spot I use to hunt. There was no easy access it was a large patch of woods with fields all around it. Only way in was walking in the fields most times moving deer.
  4. That sucks the big one. The company I worked for had a ban on vacation all November due to some changes. Luckily I recently took a promotion at another company and can take as much time off as I want!! Hello Nov!!
  5. Ha Grow, I remember my dad brought home a vhs tape of the tree lounge, they were promoting it and showing some hunts out of it. I should rummage thru the archives for it, neither parent thru much away.

    How do you Cape

Ill admit I did that yrs ago with my first bow mount. We had cut up a ton (never for mount) but so worried about screwing it up we played it super safe. My bow buck last yr we did and my taxi called and said its going to be really close. Thankfully it was enough. My taxi is so close that he said he would skin it fast going forward, works for me!!
  7. 25yards, out off all the deer I've shot with the bow all have been within 20yards
  8. Hang ur stand and get after it!
  9. Just need a solid west wind and for him to show up. Luckily they are just about all day pics.
  10. Gosh I remember as a kid our gsp would be loaded with fleas, heck I couldn't walk the hallway without popping one off my leg. Lucky I have never seen one on our labs.
  11. Ive been getting a decent 8pt on cam since early august (cams out all yr). This trail around a block of pines has been very active all last fall and winter. I hung a stand their a week and a half ago and have been anxious to check post leaving my sent all over. Well he's still coming thru on 2 different trails that lead to one (I'm setup in the crotch between both trails). Someone also made 4-5 rubs around the stand. I might have to hit this one.
  12. Usually ill get hemlock branches but their are no pines close by. Next summer with time ill transport some from other areas of the property. They hold for along time.
  13. This is typically what I do with ladder stands if its in a good pot. This spot has been great but it was wide open in front of the stand, Now when they come walking in for their acorn feast ill be little more concealed. And I cut down a large branch that limited my brother from drawing his bow on a nice buck last yr.
  14. Ok thanks, that's what I was assuming but what the hell do I know
  15. I haven't purchased my license yet but my brother did. He said its antlerless only the first 15 days of oct and last week or two at the end. I thought that was tossed in the trash this yr. I looked on the site and doesn't say anything about it in the map. Bro text me a pic of the map from the reg book and shows antlerless.
  16. Wow yeah worse than canadice for sure, they must be sucking more out of hemlock the canadice. I drove by the lake today and wondered how many feet it would need to reach normal levels. I just came up with A LOT!
  17. Their is a point when you loose respect for the animal your taking a shot at. That's for sure!
  18. Must have's... tp and late season sometimes I need a little chapstick. Then its small bottle of sent killer, grunt call, rattle bag, knife and butt out. In stand I take my quiver off and toss in my backpack.
  19. I remember as a kid my dad had wooden blocks with holes drilled thru them with rope to tie around the trunk, looking back that wasn't the safest. We then graduated to screw in steps. I would mark my foot for each step and they worked great and never had an issue with them but they are a workout getting them in and out of the tree. Once the steps were in, pull up the stand to set, that wasn't always an easy process. Then we moved to ladder stands because the price point is pretty good. A lot more simple and easy to set. I wonder what will be next a hover board to take u up?
  20. oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh baby!! Its almost game time my friends!!
  21. Something that's low impact and on the edge of the property, I won't u hunt the good stands till later on unless t cam says otherwise.
  22. I'll be honest I don't use any harness, heck I just hung a ladder stand by myself using just the metal brace. I know know
