Anyone who trusts any politician is an idiot. I just want to make sure those here understand his record before slobbering all over him. Of course the lies and tales spun by Hillary are even worse. I don't think I've ever seen a politician so desperate for votes that she will say anything. The coal miner fiasco is just the cherry on top. -
Got in about an hour ago. Not a gobble all morning, just some hens. I think the season has winded down. Man NY starts too late.
-
A few hens this morning but not a single gobble yet in 8F

Has a chance grow? She will win unless trump can get the woman vote. And even then he needs Ohio Florida and maybe even PA. It's not good. She is the favorite like it or not. -
Funny how different deer are in the spring. I've probably had more than 20 deer in bow range just sitting next to a tree this spring. This morning was a doe who came behind me at about 5 yards to my left. I swear I could have spit on her. I raised my phone to take a pic and she freaked. May have been blowing for a good 10 minutes. Entertainment at least lol.

Not upset. Just hoping to have a fun thread without arguing for a change.
-
Got in a little later than I had hoped. Nobody is vocal and that's not exciting. Also may regret not bringing the thermacell

I prefer funny memes. Can we have a thread of funnies?

Do some research before you take this guys word about the gun laws. He stood by Obama after sandy hook and has advocated for longer wait times for purchasing firearms. He's still miles better than Hillary but he's not exactly the best guy we could ask for if we're just talking gun rights -
Found a pic of mine. May not be everyone's cup of tea either but I like it

I don't hate it. I don't love it. My one and only euro was done on a piece of old gray barn wood with a bent nail, can't find a picture at the moment and I love the look. It's either the color contrast or the circular pattern I think that throws me off. it was a jagged cut that might look better.

yes please

don't know the area or the neighborhood and I'm not bashing creativity and ingenuity. but judging by the pics the neighbors look close and I wouldn't be too thrilled if someone built a "shed" out of leftover lumber. just saying.
-
I feel like one of those plastic garden sheds might be cheaper in the long run? Lumber isn't cheap and you will need a roof on it. also depending on where you live be careful about building permits/ordinances.

my favorite is the guys like us who are "hunters" and they're shown with a rifle or compound bow practicing back home. Like dude, that's not going to do anything for you in the wilderness with a pointed stick as your only weapon. the premise of the show isn't so much on the survival skills of a lost hiker, but more about the ability to make it on your own. I think we all believe it'd be easy, but I tend to believe having nobody to talk to, not even strangers on the web would get to anyone.

Funny you mention that. I took a snooze down south last year in the warm sun and woke to 2 jakes at my dekes (illegal in ms). I thought that was funny.

Winter is for wife and kids! And by June it's all over anyhow.

Let me hunt with what I want. Why do you care? Right? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Les is the man no doubt. I'm not a bear grylls guy. Naked and afraid is entertainment for me, but give Alone a shot. It's as similar to survivorman as it gets. they're all self filmed.

you just blew my mind. turkey stink so you'd rather eat geese?
-
even at only 32 I couldn't imagine doing both in the same day. I'll try to get in bed by 9 before a turkey hunt, but if the wife's into the wine I'm staying up. The next morning after 4 hours or so in the woods I need a nap, and the weekend is my "sleep in and recover from 2 kids and hectic work week". That and although a very understanding wife, I can only push so far with 2 little kids.
-
sure if you have a choice, and always when heating indoors. but just for a summer evening it beats buying wood.
-
Only one of my uncles turkey hunts. My whole family fishes and deer hunts. I picked it up as an excuse to get into the woods. I'll admit my least favorite part is the bugs or the 4am wakeup calls. To all the members here who DON'T hunt wood chickens. Why not?
