What Would You Buy If You Left NY?

i know more than most what it feels like to leave home. If it wasn't for the people I miss, there might never be a return ticket. Despite some beautiful land, there's no benefit to the actual state. -
Ha. Parts of Rochester and Buffalo are still way worse than NYC

What Would You Buy If You Left NY?

It's not even the price, as it is the selection. Typically down south the price of ammo is affordable. Sure there are some great deals if you're looking, but I couldn't find 168 GR hornady superformance rounds anywhere but online. That's what's nice about buying ammo online. -
What Would You Buy If You Left NY?

I believe it's $200... Still a joke. -
NY is one of, if not the most restrictive states when it comes to self defense and "weapons". Whether it's larger mags, a stun gun, automatic knife or some versions of pepper spray. What's on your list if you moved?
-
Damn Bill, give a brother some credit haha. You'll find there's no bs politics there either.
-
Totally... And most aren't doing it intentionally. Lol

You're delusional. Your turkey paradise sounds great. I'm not even calling you a liar, but that type of hunting doesn't exist for even 90% of NY turkey hunters. Shooting a bird off the roost from good scouting is much easier to me then calling in a hen'd up Tom.

there are a few things illegal that i wouldn't consider poaching. I disagree with the sunset rule, but if you shoot a buck 20 minutes after sunset than that's poaching. Harvesting a deer with a 3 blade rage however to me doesn't feel like poaching.

all i ever ask from you grow is that you explain what you mean (ie quote above) when I cannot understand what you're saying. If that's nasty, and asking for a ban on an entire religion is not... well then I'm not sure we're on the same level.

I've spent a lot of hours on oldgobbler.com and never once have I ever heard someone say calling is a last ditch effort. 3/4 of the fun with turkey is calling. I wish whitetails would answer to calls!

trapping is hunting. I'll say it for the final time because in the end it doesn't really matter anymore. I do not enjoy being a member of a site that condones hate speech. I'm catholic. I love my neighbor even if I don't agree with their views. I enjoy coming here to learn and talk about hunting. When I'm skimming the new content, I'm bothered that we as a minority group in NY will put up with topics such as: Nasa has Muslim outreach program... Justice Antonin Scalia DEAD - Liberals Celebrate, Claim He's Rotting in Hell Iran mocks captured US Navy sailors San Diego Plan To Ban The Term "Founding Fathers" Thwarted all on the first page. If a muslim in NY wants to get into hunting I welcome them to our heritage which is dwindling everyday. If a liberal wants to feel welcome at this site because they're a hunter with stories and knowledge to spread then I want them too to feel welcome here. If you're too blind to see the blatent hate and negativity some hunters are spreading here than my time typing this is lost. Everyday we lose young hunters to iphones, videogames and tv. Everyday we're losing hunting land to developments, everyday we're losing public land access and having the DEC regulate out forms of hunting we once knew and love. Everyday we lose more and more of our gun rights. So why again I ask you, do we want to further splinter a group needing to be tighter and more unified than ever? Or as one member suggested, start a new hunting ny forum. So you ask then, Belo. Why even come to this site? I've tried leaving because of this nonsense, but I have a strong passion for hunting and enjoy this place for 95% of what it offers. I hope it's clear my passion to remove or at least remove the political section from the main feed is based on my desire to keep this place growing and a source for uniting hunters. I have very strong political views. Many of which is shared by the 3 muskateers. But this isn't the place to copy and paste them. I come here to talk hunting. otherwise http://lmgtfy.com/?q=new+york+political+forum

Today's Hot wheel is a custom 72 chevy http://www.hotwheels.com/en-us/collection/DHX47_Custom%2072%20Chevy%C2%AE%20LUV%E2%84%A2 I love the details. sunroof, exposed headers. While I'm not one for red trucks this is still for sure is a car to add to the collection.

I love turkey hunting, but to me it's a sport that I do little prep for. For new properties I'll walk them once or twice in early to mid april and look for roosting trees and small openings and fields where I can setup. But what I really enjoy about turkey is getting in early, setting up in the dark and calling for a little during light. Then I can get up and move and try some locators or move to other spots. I'm not a spot and stalk deer guy so I really enjoy "scouting as I hunt" style to turkey.

Dude that was tough to read. Kindle? Lol.

used to subscribe as well. at a pre-teen these things were gold... then came the internet. I still subscribed as an adult because it was a good read and the occasional celeb. I honestly barely read any magazines unless I'm on a plane.

it doesn't fall on my list of "freak out about it" either. Especially if the town is hiring sharpshooters. But if asked if I consider it poaching, than my answer is yes.
-
Sure he is, If I'm his neighbor and I follow the rules then I'm missing an opportunity to fill my freezer and probably take some pretty nice unpressured deer. I hate this comes across like "if I can't have, nobody can". But really what makes him special and other land owners not?
-
kind of the boat I fall in. If it's against the law you're using an unfair advantage that other law abiders would not have. To me, while gray is a form of poaching.

answered more than once. a good many of us view the site through the new content feed. it shows EVERYTHING in chronological order. I'm not a trapper, so I generally skim past those topics but sometimes I check in because it's neat. I don't duck hunt, but enjoyed seeing that one of our members did the art work for the stamp. If I just went to deer, archery and turkey I'd miss a good bit of stuff that still interests me or maybe i don't realize yet "should" interest me. This site is very much responsible for me getting into making my own sausage. I might have never have gone into the processing section if I hadn't have seen some of the topics come across the feed. I have never been interested in doing my own euro... but seeing some members do their own has convinced me I'm still not I would bet money, more users use the feed than seeking out individual sections. With all do respect a serious question; does that help?

How cool is this? A real working metal detector! Getting our next generation of kids ready to try and find riches instead of working for them. What do you guys and gals think about the newest matchbox car? I disagree with the color scheme. http://www.matchbox.com/en_US/treasure-truck-.html

finally got a minute so the wife and i could watch sunday's episode last night. what an intense freaking episode. one of the most action packed in recent memory. the biker rpg? holy crap. The only gripe I kinda have is the scene with glenn. nobody sprays automatic rounds a rotting zombies and doesn't have a stray or passthrough. that was a little bit much. also, if fire has been a suicide system all along, they sure as heck could have just burned the gravel pit instead of their elaborate plan to lure them away. anyhow, pickiness aside. that was intense.
