  1. Can't do half the backyard due to water, but got mow #3 in last night with the bad weather coming.
  2. why not? because of ignorance and death, that's why. Your justification for legalizing them is like saying we shouldn't have any laws at all. Who is the government to tell me I can't drink and drive. Drugs like cocaine and H kill. They kill their useres and more importantly they kill others who are innocent bystanders. Nobody ever got hurt smoking a joint. On the other hand I lost my best friend to opioids.
  3. Not a good analogy. Smoking weed is not dangerous to the public unless someone is driving under the influence, which is still illegal, just like driving drunk is illegal. In fact, drunks start fights. pot heads just buy taco bell.
  4. For those that didn't bother to read the article. Not only was this not in NY, it wasn't in America either. It was in France, which obviously has a different legal system. On a side note, why are y'all so afraid of weed?
  5. idk man, when we moved into our house 5 years ago and needed some new stuff it was insane then too. Especially if you're looking for a couch with cushions.
  6. wow those are tall. Lowes/Home depot will usually sell the garden soil or bed soil on sale in the spring. Takes A LOT of bags. I topped mine off in year 2 and then have been using home grown compost since.
  7. One added bonus of turkey hunting and run n gun is deer scouting and even possible morel finding. Otherwise, I'd say it'd be a hard sell to drive that far for birds. But heck my neighbor just went to the dakotas and I know guys that drive and fly for birds so who the heck am I to give advice haha.
  8. that's cool you found an old camo backpack too. Those things are hard to spot!
  9. my eggplant and sweet peppers finally popped after a week or so. They always make me worried I screwed something up. I extended the garden a little further with some additional fencing and spread compost. I'm ready to go, but of course it's 30's and maybe snow this week. I learned my lesson and I'll wait to put anything in the ground.
  10. Well your lawn is holding up from the fall application. I get the kids and chemicals thing for sure. But I'd also caution you that once you start losing control of the weed war that it gets exponentially harder to get control back.
  11. it was wet and I was flying to chicago the next day, so I had to get it in. You should see the tires...
  12. the scotts guy went chemical free???
  13. Good lord the fertilizer mixed with sun and rain has my lawn going nuts. I even saw some dandelions already. Cut #2 and it was past due Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. this is why we need new hunting gear every year. Without it, for sure we couldn't kill these animals haha
  15. it's only 6 isolated cases. But this market is funny. IDK man...
  16. It's an odd thing for me. I seem to see the same number on my cams and in the fall that I have for the 8 years or so I've been turkey hunting, but in the spring I've had a steady decline in sightings and gobbling over the last 3 to 5 years even though I've had success in this time. I still believe our season is at least 2 weeks late and given how fickle our weather can be I believe this can make a huge impact if it doesn't hit right. Sure, a good and dedicated hunter will get their birds. But odds and difficulty can swing drastically. Final point. About 15-20 years ago the turkey numbers were insane. We then had an old overgrown vineyard on the east side plowed for corn. Absolutely destroyed prime nesting habitat and the numbers never came back. Look around your neighborhood and if you've had a lot of housing developments or old fallow fields tilled, you're losing habitat and it could explain some drops in numbers.
  17. never saw it go live. what happened?
  18. I bought some whr at 180 a while back hoping for a stimy bounce. That thing is rocking at almost 240 now. Wish I bought more (how often do we say that?) haha.
  19. yeah i know. Shit man, i have a hard enough time getting them to come within 30 haha
  20. I've always wanted to try it. I think we're all in agreement that there's no harm in challenge oneself, I was just trying to answer grouses question on why one wouldn't use a rifle if they could.
  21. 1. No we don't 2. Any deer is a trophy is also not true. Every hunter sets their own trophy standards. So no, for many a doe or basket 6 is not a trophy. For some, you're right it is. But this is not a rule. 3. Same for you. Happy hunting brother.
  22. I think like a few others mentioned, a shotgun would probably still be more effective. Like brining your bow into regular season for deer. Or even better, bow hunting turkey's today.
