  1. $100?? I better go home and look in the basement for the two I have laying around.. ebay here I come! My uncle makes the hip quiver for us, one of a kind craftsmenship..haha
  2. WNY, You don't need to twist the truth, there are no crossbow orginizations out there if there were maybe they would gain more support. I could care less about crossbows, I have stated that before, I will still be able to hunt succesfully with my bow and will not hunt with a crossbow. I never was dogging crossbow supporters just pointing out the fact that there are no other groups that are out there and that you all seem to want the world with out trying to do something for every one. The point is NYB is the only archery org that is attempting to accomplish anything untill there is another option they will have my support. Again I do not support 100% of what they come out with but at least I acknowledge what they do accomplish. I have been called an anti before just because I don't agree with some of the stuff your side does, that is the cycle.. name calling and anger because the two sides can't agree on every thing. Some one needs to extend the olive branch and I think it should be the new kid on the block, crossbow supporters. Prove to me that you guys care about any thing but getting the crossbow in and I will sign up to help you out. Go ahead organize a group and make it happen, of course that would mean there would be less time to bash NYB on the internet though.
  3. I would suggest Muzzy 75 or 100 grain three blades, but every one has their own opinion and brands they like.
  4. Last year my wife got the Sidekick Xp, and after seeing that I got the Wildfire this year. I also changed out all the free stuff that comes with it but the thing shoots great. And I only paid $294..hehe
  5. No the crossbow guys just call everyone else elitist's if they don't agree with them and do nothing to improve the sport for for anyone but themselves....
  6. Thats the first thing I took off my new bow, I use a hip quiver to lessen the weight and noise on the bow.
  7. The point is crossbow people don't have a group, they do nothing but push for their weapon. The only group that does attempt anything is NYB, so if we see a Oct 1st opener you can thank NYB not a non-existent crossbow group. Re-read my post. I never said NYB would take credit for cross bows in archery season. You said NYB isn't doing anything for most archers, they are, like it or not...again what crossbow group is doing any thing for any one but themselves....the answer is none, they don't exsist in NY, and in fact the companies that are going to sell a product are responsible for you wanting them so badly in archery season. So if there is in fact a crossbow orginization that is willing to try and promote archery and not just the crossbow lets hear from them, I am open to any of their ideas.
  8. oh and for the record I don't agree with every thing they have on their agenda but, again who else is there?
  9. Really, they haven't asked for a earlier opener, a youth weekend for gun, or any thing in your opinion? So if a change happens that they had a hand in and crossbows go into archery season, wouldn't that mean crossbow hunters had some thing done for them? What are crossbow groups doing for archers of all kinds?
  10. Nope its 14, 12 you can hunt small game with bow.
  11. capt terry.. what other orginazation is doing any thing for archers. Who is pushing for an earlier opener and every thing else NYB does? I keep asking this and no one is answering my question. Also what crossbow group is doing any thing to help all archery hunters out? Just because we don't all agree on every thing doesn't mean there can't be some type of common ground, but then again I haven't seen any one working for archers as a group other than NYB.
  12. I have no problem with that Steve I just want these guys to work for us, who would say no to a longer archery season, lower license cost, or any other important issue thats out there getting worked on. Instead of driving that wedge between the two sides, maybe offer a olive branch and prove its about more than money and personal wants.
  13. So lets go back to the original post here touting the draw lock is NOW legal when in fact it already has been. What is your point? If it is just to come in and stir the pot there are plent of other threads to do that in there is no need to start a new one. Doc is right, next subject, what has any cross bow group done for the rest of us? Are they pushing for a early opener or any thing that benifits any thing other than their own interests? Maybe you guys could gain some more support if there was a group that tried to do some thing for all of us... You want to be in archery season, work for US not just you.
  14. No we are talking about the Albany Pine Bush not the down state one. Troy is only a few minutes from the Albany Pine bush which is a bow only area.
  15. I just wish he and his buddies knew what was already legal... :
  16. yup like I thought.. same s@!# different day (ssdd)
  17. yes it is.. He his a great guy, I liked talking to him and he is the one that invited me down hunting. Originally Gus was going to go to a guy from Jersey but Bruce didn't like what he was seeing and hearing so he backed out late in the process. Thats why we got him at 16 weeks.
  18. Will do, I am waiting for the books and dvd to come in the mail so I can learn how to train Gus better... I am clueless but thankfully the Navhda people are nice and helpfull.
  19. Well I haven't turned in the paper work yet, but it will be the Southern Adirondack chapter. I am waiting for the next meeting to drop off the paper work and money in person. What about you, which one are you in? Gus is very calm, I am real happy with him.
  20. Look them up on Archery Talk in their guide reveiw section, you won't want to go with them after that. ??? Lots of bad reveiws.
  21. Yes she hunts, got her first last year, on her first bow hunt ever, and I was there. That was cool.. any way, we found 12 reveiws of Hadley creek and 10 of them were unsucessfull. I had posted a simular topic but I guess no one has been to Ill. Its alot of money so I feel the pressure to pick the right guide. I heard that are something like 150 guides in Pike county.. yikes!
  22. um, thats been legal in Ny for a while whats your point? Who cares about a voided warranty.
  23. It depends on the spot, our main spot we sit till 11/12, the deer don't start to move there untill 830-930. Other areas we hunt all day due to the size of the property, stand till 9-10 and still hunt the rest of the day.
