  1. "The Empire State is being drained of an invaluable resource—people. From 2000 to 2008, in both absolute and relative terms, New York experienced the nation's largest loss of residents to other states—a net domestic migration outflow of over 1.5 million, or 8 percent of its population at the start of the decade." There you have it.. we may not be losing just hunters, we are losing people from our state. Hey at least NY is number one!
  2. I tend to agree with you on this Doc, even some of us that love hunting get real aggitated with NYS in general, enough so to consider bailing on NY. There is a long list of things about NY that piss alot of us off, and there may come a day when something pushes me off the edge to where I leave and never come back to NY. If I think that way there must be others that feel or do the same thing. Hence an ever dropping number of hunters. So my point is, who is to say hunters are just hanging up their guns and bows, maybe they are leaving to better ground??? I thnk the number of people leaving NYS is going to show us that...now I gotta go look that up.
  3. WNY, You should paint it camo, then the perspective buyer could use it as a blind too....wouldn't that be the best hunting blind ever. Just park it and wait for the deer, ha! I was thinking about out of state trips useing the camper, it would save some money thats for sure. What kind of camper do you have any way? We bought a Jay Feather 28R this spring and love it. It sure beats a tent or pop up, especially when you have kids that need to get to sleep when its loud out side.
  4. That depends.. do you shot fingers? If so, feathers are far more forgiving than vanes. If you want to stick with feathers just cover them up with something in bad weather.
  5. Why can't you shoot a deer and stuff in the trunk of what ever car you have? Or do you not have a vehicle..maybe I misunderstood.
  6. Yes they do, members only though. As a side note, that was the club that was on the news @4 years ago for getting the lot paved for free through the county because a few members were on the town council or something to that affect. As if that wasn't enough the town then decided to get rid of some "waste soil" on the clubs land and give them @$48K in the process.
  7. What happens in side project pod stays inside project pod....Can we shorten it to P.H.P?
  8. Thats a good size for a portable hunting camp, I have toyed with the idea of using the camper for a hunting trip. I would have issuses getting mine parked due to the length of it though, most site close down before season opens. But with that thing you would be able to go anywhere.
  9. What ever you do, don't come to the house dressed like Elmo....my boy is crazy like me..uh oh
  10. haha.. Don't forget the braod heads they use.. sccchhhwhackers Those guys are something, I seen one with them and a guy shot a doe and said someting about herd management or harvest or some term like that.. what ever happened to just hunting and killing? There does seem to be alot of BAD shots lately on most of those shows fasteddie, and the post celebration is what kills me... its like they just watched the birth of their child..haha
  11. haha Thats me if I were a deer....haha
  12. Good post Steve... thats the truth and I think most of us can agree on that.
  13. If I really want something for hunting I find an item number and provide with a list so there is no mix ups. Usually the inlaws are the guilty ones, if it ain't on the list I don't want it! haha
  14. wow! That is a bad deal fasteddie.. I have only used a processor once, it was 74, humid and 830pm on a Tuesday when I got back to the house with him.. I had no choice, and thankfully the guy is a good person.
  15. Hey thats funny burhmjohn I was looking for a camper this past spring and found one I wanted to look at on CL and the response I was sent was almost exactly the same as the one you got on the wheeler. The scammers must have a book to refer to..ha! I ended up buying new to avoid hassels and scams.
  16. No I am not attacking any groups..just you. I am waiting on pins and needles for your avatar pic of you in the sweet Monica Lewinski hat. I would say its because you are from the city but other guys on here seem fine and they are from the city, maybe its all the roids you take who knows..... :
  17. boy you have a way of not answering a question and not knowing your facts huh? For a guy that raves on and on about crossbows I would think that you would be some what educated as to what goes on, I guess not. And for the record I no longer care about crossbows, I could honestly give two poops what you or any other fellow hunter uses or attempts to use to kill game. Guys like you sure don't help the crossbow cause much.
  18. So Sits tell us all how crossbow companies are not meetting with any members of the NYS CC and pushing for the bill to get passed I would love to hear it. And then tell us how Horton crossbows didn't donate large sums of money and crossbows to 4-H (Cornell ext---NYS) and while your at it tells us Horton didn't receive an award at the 4-H Banquet because of that donation. And when you are done with that tell us that the 4-H and Cornell Cooperative extension has no influence in the state, heck then tell me how Cornell Coop ext can conduct an unbiased survey, that no one I know got in the mail. Come on wake up sits, and drop the down talk/ name calling if you can. Ofcourse crossbow companies have a biased intrest in the bill getting passed, they want your money pretty bad.
  19. I have a pair of Bushnell's 10x42, not sure of the exact model as they are a few years old now. The price back then was around $150-180 I think. I got mine as a gift. You may need to up your budget but I honestly can't say that I am up on bino prices.
  20. It can be September 27th at my house, if you have last years tag, other wise it is Oct 1st...NorthernZone
  21. hmmm.. yes weight will be an isuue, maybe some type of mounting system for washing up out side, like an external shower spot. A bench seat that folds open for storage, like something you would find on my pool deck made out of plastic to save weight. I would want plenty of hooks to hang stuff inside too. Then what about after you shoot the big one, where will you process it? You could put a detachable table on the side, with the RV-que style mounting bar.
  22. I would guess 4 or 5 also... what about score, what are your guess's.. I say 152.
  23. I can't stop looking at him he is beautiful!!! As per board rules you must disclose the GPS location of him to the first three guys to comment. I will be waiting.
