  1. I bought a long trac so it was on me, I knew what I was in for. lol
  2. I cut way, way, back on my hunting in 4S because of lack of DMP's. 4T right next door has a lot of permits and it is not uncommon for me to see double digit doe numbers in 4S. Now I hunt it in bow a time or two and that's it.
  3. I think so too, looks like I got two for my home turf in 5R then.
  4. Same here, I have the A-bolt and although it is as heavy as a boat anchor it is a hell of a shooter.
  5. Question, how do you know if you got the doe permit you wanted when purchasing online? Mine says unit XX Selected and it shows two under "active holdings".
  6. I kept repeating the process, I clicked on the purchase a hunting license icon, added what ever into the cart and went back and did it again until I had it all in there. Then entered payment info at the end. I'm betting you missed something.
  7. I just hold onto my bow, hardly ever use a hook unless I'm getting in or out of the stand. On the ground I just set it down if I need to or hang it on a branch. The very few times I have used a ground blind I set it on my lap. Less chance of getting busted if you aren't having to reach for the bow in any situation.
  8. You can if you own a Hoyt. I once won a beauty pageant I didn't even enter while hunting.
  9. You might not find too many listed on this half of the state but that's not to say you can't do as Moog stated. Personally I have found enough land owners willing to let me hunt that I have no use for a lease.
  10. Because it has its own special season, anytime in that season you can shoot two bucks. I dare you to kill two in one shot, I hear Matthews are magic and kill deer three at a time.
  11. I cant help with the release but I can come over and slap you in the back of the head every time you flinch. It might take your mind off of your hurting shoulder so you go back to the long bow.
  12. What is a Golden Labrador? Lol Yellow Lab Golden Retriever
  13. I think I own 5 stands total, I cant recall how many acres I have access too but its a good amount. I rarely have more than two stands hung at a time and prefer to be mobile or hunt from the ground. Something about being within feet of a deer is fun to me.
  14. If you strip away most of the BS from guys on this thread, no matter what side they claim to be on, they are just hunters. Some may have more experience and some may have better land to hunt or are just plain full of it, that doesn't make them better or worse than the next guy. And who cares about your opinion of your own hunting prowess or how you rate other hunters. None of that really matters.
  15. Online only I think cause when I just went in there and flashed them I didn't get any discounts.
  16. I didn't know they still made music videos, that is what is upsetting!!!!
  17. What happens if a deer gets high blood pressure? Do they get healthcare?
  18. Well if it makes the deer try to eat the soil it's in or on that would be baiting actually. It doesn't matter if you hunt it or not. I don't agree with the law anymore honestly nor do I care if some one does it. I won't do it but I might try it if it were legal. My thought was if it is added yearly perhaps it would grow into the vegetation grown in it and pass on to the deer eating it.
  19. Hey you never know lol. I could definitely see some using it mixed in with fertilizer as a soil additive.
  20. So is this another way you break the law?
  21. How do you use the stuff? Seems like it would fall under the baiting law in NY unless you can till into the ground and then plant a food plot which seems like a good idea from a novice.
  22. Funny stuff in here hehe... Born and raised in it, now I am enjoying passing it on to my kids and I am fortunate enough to give them more opportunities than I had growing up. We are heading home from 8 days in the North woods of Maine tomorrow, it has been a week for them to fish and go through the old logging roads seeing Moose and every other critter up here. Awesome trip.
