First of all, no one uses a 3 inch D loop so just remove that silly idea. The video explains it all very well. String to the tip of your nose, corner of the mouth, adjust the length ot the D loop or release to compensate where it touches your cheek. And no Doc I don't think T-bone would agree with you.

Trust me after all these years we have thought of everything. The power of moving water is really something. Whole lot of risk involved in creek crossing, especially when it is sub zero.

WOW you are over thinking it Doc. The string will still be the same length no matter how long the D loop is. You don't hold your bow with out pulling it all the way back all of a sudden. The string should be at the tip of your nose, a d loop will only affect where the release touches your cheek. Want it closer, use a shorter release and a shorter d loop.

Depends on current speed, we kicked that idea around too. A guide rope and a boat or kayak would be ok but then you have to secure it in the area ect. Our creek goes way to fast when its up for that, not sure about the OP.

The one idea we always thought would work is a zip line.

What ever you decide, get used to being cut off from that part of the property. It sucks but there isn't a lot you can do about it, speaking from 15 years of creek crossing. Some years with the weather we just can't hunt that spot. I am so sick of it I don't want to go to our spot again.

I would be worried about a bridge washing out. Can you cut tree's down and lay them acrossed it? Our creek is way to wide to do that unfortunately.

Carry your boots acrossed, we do this every season.

Also not fun when you get a bunch of rain and its to fast and deep to cross. Deer float though, thats the easiest part of the equation.

You are an idiot. No one ever books hunts in other states for Bear by your logic, because you have no interest no other hunters do either. Way to support other hunters. We aren't talking about deer on LI in suburbs, we are talking about Bears in a state wide management discussion. Just like I said before, its nice to see you siding with anti hunters, again showing your true colors.

We use Moose antlers because they are bigger and last years. Deer seem softer and my dogs destroy them quickly. We order from Acadiaantlers.com we met those guys back when they were just a roadside stand and way cheaper. Good people Their antlers are boiled in beef broth. I would stay away from the shovel part of moose antlers, they give the dog clear the house gas when they eat them.

Deer and Bear are very different animals, its not even remotely the same and the management goals are very different aswell. Perhaps you should read the Bear plan the DEC put out. Think what you want though. I answered your question twice, do I need to repeat it for you?

No I would have no problem hunting Bear in this fashion. Killing a deer and control their population is far easier, other wise wouldn't see an annual take number so high.
