i'd prefer side eject too but myself and many others used top eject lever guns like the Win Model 94 just fine. trying to clone a classic or maybe patents creating issues to go with side eject with their specific case. idk.

All I got so that's what I use. ruler being ridged makes sense and easier to work with I'd think. Hardest part I think is when you get abnormal points and how to score them. My buddies buck we were unsure which said of the split was the g2 length and which was abnormal. Measured one way it would've meant it was 17" and change. Seemed to follow the grain of the tine though. Dont know how it was officially measured. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

I got that lip end tape as a constellation prize. It works really well. Bends along with most tines well lip goes on the tip of the tine. Out of your list you posted after blue painters tape and a pencil works well to if you want to get serious about measuring points off the beams or tines. single tape is close enough to be practical though unless you're into being Mr official. Had competition tonight so skipped dinner more work less. Last night I had some more toro (blue fin tuna belly) from the freezer. Got it from a buddy that owns a charter. Doesn't have the reddish pink color anymore from being in the freezer since fall. Still has marbling like a ribeye and literally melts and dissolves in your mouth like butter. Room has kind of died off. For all you sour fans. Blueberry raspberry strawberry, and then tastes like a Hersey bar at the end. Good one from North Dakota. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

Do u guys use drag dents when walking to your stand
dbHunterNY replied to luberhill's topic in Deer Hunting
Nothing you do will cover up your scent. The deer will smell everything, the scent, and you still. Try to reduce your scent as much as feasible given your situation. A drag will have a deer coming in nose to ground likely down wind from your stand as that's how you should be approaching it. Not good. You get busted often by a younger curious buck or doe before that big buck gets there. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk -
Do u guys use drag dents when walking to your stand
dbHunterNY replied to luberhill's topic in Deer Hunting
No because almost all the time I'm coming into the standing where I don't want them to be and try not walking across trails they will take to get there. If I'm hunting say an ag field where I'm walking thru field or along edge if field to get to the stand then I will. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk -
How to break up your silhouette in the stand
dbHunterNY replied to Northcountryman's topic in Deer Hunting
If you can't do everything that's already been said then setup in a tree on the trail or preferably intersecting trails on the side of the tree the deer will be coming from and have the sun at your back. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk -

Bill Gates Becomes Biggest Private Owner of Farmland in America
dbHunterNY replied to Grouse's topic in General Chit Chat
there's a big hitch with that. even though our NY Governor and the incoming POTUS have pushed alternative energy like solar the regional utility infrastructure here in NY can't always handle it. Trust me. You can buy around XX acres of flat south facing land, commercially zoned, dirt cheap at a tax auction. Spend time and money to install tile drainage, clear a more of it, turn it into ag fields. Then have a solar corp go thru planning, design, and town board approval. Have power pre-purchase agreement with a state college and lets say GE. When you think you're home free National Grid elec utility says "yea we took another look and our lines in that location won't support that much power. ...but good news is if you foot a multi-million dollar bill for upgrades to our infrastructure then we're all set." So now your whole project to turn a profit that's about 128x your investment over the course of 30 years is dead in the water. i know of a few other people that have been sitting on these projects for several years too. good news is you can always turn around these properties to someone who's willing to wait for a premium. -

anyone with a brain knows why he is. you can develop more and different PC tech but can't make more land. if you can afford to keep land and are smart about enrolling it in different programs, then it only makes sense to continue buying it. we're pretty small at just shy 350 acres. our rural townships has zoning laws that prevent you buying up land and then splitting it into many lots to make a subdivision for development. even so we've added more because of opportunity and it was cheap. there's another down the road that owns 1,400+ acres worth of farms, that has it in a conservation trust that's largely tax free. here in NY you have to be smart about it though because taxes are high even with an active farm using it to allow for an ag exemption. -
