  1. Like shooting a bow from a treestand or unlevel 3D course i feel like it all effects your shooting in different ways. No first hand experience but in a defensive situation logic would tell me that you could be in any number of stances or positions. Makes sense to me you should practice more than one position or stance. Still it's better to get a best one nailed down good for confidence before moving to others. U prefer some version of modified weaver for precision bullseye competition, then more exposed isosolece works good for steel competitons or informal bowling pins. Steel and bowling pins aren't fighting/shooting back though. lol Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  2. I've got a prior obligation so can't make it. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  3. Make sure you're grip of your firing hand isn't changing your trigger press. your support hand can't be pulling. Don't wrap your support hand so deep so its pulling/tight. Don't let your left elbow drop either. Anything weaver is weird because it's not naturally how you want to be especially when transitioning to targets right or left. Close your eyes and draw to a spot you're relaxed and comfortable. Open your eyes and the target should be there. Change something like footing then try again. Build that muscle memory into your head so you naturally engage the target that way. Change things one at a time until you figure out what it is. Not a coach so maybe buckmaster can chime in and critique would I've said. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  4. No shramp. Just 1/4+ lb venison bacon burgers with BBQ mayo, L, Cheese, and charmelized onions. Little cow massage for seasoning on them while they were in the cast iron skillet. Quick meal earlier with crazy schedule lately. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  5. Good God. Plinking stuff is like $1 per bang now and anything premium is more like $2. I purchased components prior to this for several hundred rounds and thankfully had a good amount of 223 for my bolt gun stocked up for woodchucks. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  6. I picked up an Indian creek last year that's pretty tight. Worried to use it even with a red dot. No reason I need to almost lop the head off a turkey. Something more open with 100 or so pellets in the head and neck is fine like my PureGold is fine. Im not using TSS like you either. That stuff is nasty on birds. lol it's almost crazy to think people sent #4 lead a factory from a flush full with a basic front bead to get it there. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  7. I was looking into different ones from them. Cheap but they seem to function just fine. Might have issues with fit and the gun functioning reliably if you starting swapping multiple uppers to the lower. Not sure on how they last round count wise. It'll be loads of fun. 8. I've got nothing for the chest freezer downstairs but we're in it often. The fridge and freezer upstairs that I'd keep stuff in has a display right on the face that tells temp. I've thought about getting something for downstairs. None of the receptacles are on a switch and I'm the only one that touches circuit breakers in our house. Still an alarm is probably a good idea in case the freezer craps out. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  9. Got ya. Seems much more than what's in the picture then. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  10. Sucks. Looks like there wasn't much left? Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  11. Maybe I'm hung up on one statement. Not saying I disagree with the content posted. I just still don't think a duplex is as versatile. Practicality wise it's all a moot point and sight picture or reticle your scope has is subjectively better or not compared to the next. Honestly my perfect scope would be a first focal plane with MOA hash marks for both elevation and windage. Not familiar with mils. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  12. I agree with what the guy is saying but how is this at all prove your point that a simple duplex is more versatile than a bdc?? A bdc is a effectly a duplex with additional reference points. Even if the one hash mark is 305 yards I can't hold over as precisely with a duplex vs calling 305 close enough and using it as if it were 300. It's an entirely different argument and topic of someone not using it correctly or verifying POI with their specific setup. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  13. That's one thing I don't have that's semi-auto ...a shotgun. I always thought the ultimate turkey gun would be a 20ga o/u with a more open choke for the first send and then a more long range choke for a follow up if needed. Plus it loads much quieter. I've always made my pump shotguns work turkey hunting and their definitely reliable but they can be noisy if you're not used to them. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  14. Already been said co-registering and how you can add pistols depends on the county and its pistol clerk. I know of a gentlemen that's into pistols they stopped giving him cards and basically he carries around a printed letter with the remainder on them. I don't know how many he had but it's dozens upon dozens. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  15. Sorry to hear it. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  16. Don't know if others have a similar mount. Only Burris product I own. Haven't had any issues to use customer service so can't speak to how good they are. Nikon customer service seemed great but they're gone. for optics I've only had issues with one scope. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  17. That was a major concern I had is it holding zero. Seems to be though even with the 3.5" hevishot shells I've used. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  18. I have it. If it dies I can still use the beads that are still there but when your in a weird position setup at the base of a tree it helps. Where the dot is will be where your shot goes. Just moving a little in a weird position blew my mind how much that dot went a stray. Completely understand now why people miss. It does even better low light with birds in flight like hunting grouse or waterfowl. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  19. Equilibrium enso was good. The Fidens collab was great. Oat base and after taste but orange juice and berries from the start. Ripe fruit finish. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  20. Happy st Patty's day. Wife made a great meal but missed out on the soda bread. Feel part of me is empty inside. Might have to go get some. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  21. I don't think deer age gives a confidence index with results vs matson lab but if a deer has been eating off a corn pile all year or there's really mild winters like down south CA analysis sometimes doesn't work well. Cementum deposit rings are harder to make out. Doesn't seem to be that abnormal. It's a good idea to pull both sides if you see it has an abcess or compaction to make it favor a single side giving it uneven wear. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  22. He took an awesome deer. I do see more wear on deer that old that we've sent in compared to his jawbone. Replacement and wear method was tapped out long before you'd get to 9.5 yrs old. Still if I had to put money down it'd still bet against it being that old. I'm curious because any time a deer is sent in its a way to back check what you're doing looking at the jawbone. 23. So its between 2.5 and 9.5? Seems hard to argue with that. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks. To get on our team scratch roster each match you have to shoot in the 270s or higher out of 300 points. Not on it yet but getting there. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  25. Great winter time hobby to keep your trigger control up to par. Many clubs with an indoor shooting range have something like it. 20 minutes for 10 shots on slow fire. Timed fire target is 10 shots with each shot fired within 4 seconds. Last is rapid fire (same size target as timed fire) with 10 shots fired in 20 seconds. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
