  1. Did you have mushrooms for dinner the night before by chance? Just kidding. Strange things happen in the deer woods though. Sounds like you had preconceived notions that this place was a "Bermuda triangle" of some sort and that notion got into your head which could have caused the errant shooting.
  2. 189 miles one way for me, otherwise I'd be there. Take pictures of the event for me if it happens.
  3. Congratulations. The experiences have only just begun!!

    Beer

We have 5 breweries in my local area. My neighbor and I shared a few growlers this summer and I was impressed. I'm starting to appreciate it more but I am hesitant.I agree It is good to see some local guys doing well though and making a good product.

    Beer

You are one serious guy when it comes to beer. I wish I was as adventurous. I've never even tried a Guiness before as I do not like dark beer. Smithwick is the darkest I've ever tried and was not my favorite.

    Beer

I agree that it was very sweet and being diabetic I have to limit my intake. I stopped at one but enjoyed it. Ill have to try the Best Damn root beer a few posts above too. Nothing I hate more than room temp or warm beer. Always has to be cold for me.

    Beer

Tried some Not your father's root beer last night for the first time. Was interesting that a beer could taste like that by only adding spices and vanilla. I know it's been out for a while, just never tried it. Would make an excellent root beer float. Anyone else like it?
  8. Welcome and Happy New Year
  9. Onion soup mix is great for a ton of dishes. We mix it in our ground beef dry and then make burgers that are delicious. Also put it in the meatloaf. Great stock for venison roast in the crock pot, or venison stew. I make pulled venison and cook the meat in the crock pot in the soup mix for flavor and then drain, and add BBQ sauce. Have also sprinkled it on pork chops as a rub and then grilled and topped with bbq sauce. The possibilities are endless.
  10. Grilled chicken, sweet corn, sugar snap peas, and stuffing. Mmmm was it good and quick to make.
  11. Happy Birthday J. Enjoy the night.

    Beer

Have to watch my carbs and a can only has 3.2 total carbs. Not my first choice but it'll do for now.
  13. It's Wednesday, Chinese night. Beef and snow peas, yum.
  14. Here are some other suggestions in 9mms. I too have been looking at 9's and the possibilities seem endless. http://www.best9mm.com/compact9mm.html
  15. It's unbelievable isn't it. Like I said, I saw this video and thought of this post. Pretty cool how that buck just happened to pop out. They seem to see plenty of deer.
  16. Happy Birthday. Hope you enjoyed the day.
  17. Sorry to dredge this topic back up but I had to update it. I'm driving to work 4 days after the regular season ended. My phone rings and my wife says, you won't believe what I just found. I said, I know you found my keys but the key question is WHERE did you find them. They were in my son's sock drawer. I must've set them down on the dryer in the laundry room and they got scooped up in my son's clean clothes and were in the bottom of his sock drawer. If I ever misplace 4 of the keys, it will be opened with a crowbar before I pay $10 again.

    New skull

Hmmm only $400 to $500 and YOU have to clean the skull or pay to have it cleaned before sending it out. You can get a shoulder mount for that price. Guess if you love the carving look, you'll pay for it. They do look neat though, just not $500 neat.
  20. Ya know, he is ALOT like Cuomo, making up the laws and rules every time someone complains.
  21. Try this link Yeah, all of the Leatherwood Outdoors and Leatherwood Outdoors2 videos are cool. I like the flintlock ones in the snow.
  22. Spoke with two guys on Christmas Eve that hunt in this program. Had to be registered by Oct 1st. Then I believe they said you have to sign up for the area you plan to hunt and what days you will be there. If you do not show up on a day you signed up for, you lose your tags. Also said you can shoot up to 2 does per day. The season is 3 weeks long, with 2 hunters taking 2 doe per day. That's 84 doe if successful. Man, that's why no one saw deer this season, they are all in Ithaca. BTW, the 2 guys have hunted a few areas up there for most of the regular season and haven't even seen a deer.
  23. Happy Birthday!! Glad you enjoyed the day with your girls.
  24. Lol some people believe anything you write on the internet. It will be a good game next week. Jets fighting for postseason and Rex trying to ruin it for them.
