LOL..You got me! Cats out of the bag i guess. I have seen some strange things on that park and i will tell ya as god as my witness that those deer can walk up the side of those rocks where no person would ever believe. I would not have if i did not see it myself. They can come down sitting on their tails but they sure cant fly. But on a sad note, Just think how many fawns do that. Just running and playing,care free of any of lifes problems ad next thing they know its over!

I wouldnt go that far Doc! You are as old or older than i am and look at rhe changes in hunting since the 70's! I see big money taking over hunting sooner than later. Bigger farms eating land and more people in the world every day. Lets not even talk about how many less hunters there are every year and sportsmen fighting with each other over high fence and such, and all the while animal activist groups grows stronger every day.

I like how many say we need a longer season. If ya cant get it done in the seasons we have in this state, you aint gunna get it done! You will see more of this talk because the hunting world is changing and most want good big healthy deer with bone on their heads. Some on here say no but when you look at the price of the land people are eating up for hunting and what they pay to high fence, its a proven fact. A guy does not pay thousands to hunt any land and go in looking for a nice size doe!

I have been saying for years that the day will come where only high fence and private lease will have anything to do with hunting but many will never see or believe untill it hits them and they are taking their stands down. The day will come!!

Are those full grown sunflower plants behind that deer in pic #2. Kinda looks like flowered heads hanging. Great buck regardless.

Myself i went up from 280 to 300. The 280 still made me chase a few after good shots but for me it was a down sizing of the gun case. I went with something i could use anywhere on anything the rest of my hunting days. She has no kick with muzzle work but will wake up the kids when you touch her off!

Many years with my 300 Wby Mag with no problems. Dont like chasing them after the shot and sure is nice in those wide open alfalfa hay fields during the rut when the boys think they are safe running those does out to the middle. Yes if you hit shoulder you will put your fist through the hole but i have done that with an 870 also. Let them get broadside and take your deer home. Kinda like life easier as we grow older!

Take care of the problem and enjoy camp. By the time you get any help you will have 3 more colonies move in there! The 3 S's work here!

Cant turn this into a deer farming thread or the crap will hit the fan with a few. In todays market that buck right there is what its all about. Radical used to be in but now the demand is just like that guy. Easy high 6 digits with a few of those. He would fetch that because of the demand for his daughters. We can and do make much bigger and they fetch more but its amazing what looks can do for ya! The demand for good females across the states is to high to have to put any down as you are right that the doe makes up the big picture.

It all revolves around the need and demand. Thats the greatest thing about whitetails..Very few ever look the same!

You betcha. I dont care either way. All im saying that if that buck was on a farm in the big deer farming state of Ohio and no other farmer knew about it i would eat my hat. They just dont stay hid like that in our world. That buck is worth much more alive than dead. But yes i guess anything is possible!!

Do you also remember what his rack looked like. Broomed points! Flat points! Fat Round points! All signs of bucks sticking their heads in the feeder while in velvet!!! Does the rack in question here have any of these?

Thats nice but now add in the gun owners that see no use for (special) guns and they still vote for him. Like the video someone put up awhile back. People dont see it as taking their guns,like the shotgun or little pistol. But they see it as him doing a good thing getting useless weapons off the streets. Now the vote is swayed. His Way!

If you had a clue you would know different. That buck is worth more alive than dead and if that was on a farm there is no way it would have stayed under the radar. 1/2cc straw would bring in the 3 grand area, one draw gets ya 50 to 150 straws! Ya think about it!!

If that was a high fence buck i would have to say i would have seen it by now. That buck would sell very nice in the semen market. That is the kind of buck most high fence places are trying to make and thats because thats what high fence hunters want to shoot.

Welcome to the future. This will play hand in hand with high dollar leases and any kind of good deer hunting being a rich mans sport. After watching where hunting has came and went over the last 50 years its easy to see the writing on the wall. Even on this site you hear of leases being spoke of and protected to the max. Hunting is all about money and bone in most all states that have any kind of deer herds. Ny will not have to worry to much about this problem although the better parts of our states are seeing some influx of leasing. If you can ever afford a chunk to hold on to, I would do just that!

They said what guns they didnt like and not one was a hunting weapon that i heard anyways. Most are against the ones that go bang,bang,bang,bang over and over again like 10,12,15 times in a row but have no problems with the ones that go bang,bang a couple times. Even though either one will kill ya with just one bang!

Yes and it will happen again. As you saw the lawyer and last lady say... They is against some guns but not all guns. They will vote for Andy and gun control based on one or two guns. Not because of all guns. They are also willing to give up much of their rights to do so.

You are talking about one of the hottest CWD zones. If your hunting deer im not sure you can even bring the meat into Ny state untill the animal has been tested and said clean. Another one of Ny's finest laws!
