You say if you hunted behind fence that would not be fair chase. Some say if you hunted with dogs you did not hunt fair chase. There you have it. Eveyone has their own thoughts on fair chase! Deer cant get away from hunter you say behind fence but cat has to get away from dogs( Slim Chance) Not get away from the hunter! Is that fair chase for the cat? Not if he is trying to get away from the hunter.

I guess everyone has thier own opinion of fair chase huh. You ran with dogs and Quads. Did you really do the chasin? Many would say any animal taken behind a dog or behind something with a motor would not be fair chase. Again what you did was your choice and was fine...But...Fair Chase could be in question for some!!!

Wow, Yur good! I thought about doing the same thing but like i posted above. If it is ok to do and has nothing to do with me..Well..Its their choice. You are right though..Kinda gets two-faced around here at times. Would not turn me on to kill a lion or deer being run by dogs. Now throw a yote in there and im in. Guess im two-faced at times also!!!

Agreed and those are the places that give all a black eye. Now i could take you to a place, Show you trail cam pics, Give you a 3 day hunt with a bow to take that deer and chances are good you wont take him. There are some real great places to go and the ones like you talk about will be or already are.. Out Of Business!!

This post is about the only post on this subject that even begins to explain this post. First off who are we to tell a person how to spend their time or their money? You might call it one thing and someone else calls it something else. I will tell you one thing that is 100% fact is that high fence whatever you want to call it is growing in leaps and bounds every year in most every state. This year alone there have been 63 high fence ranches put up in Ny alone. Right now there are not enough bucks to supply the demand in any states. Trust me when i say the times and ways are changing. People are changing. Kids are changing. Hell life itself is changing. I know those guys that own that place in Pa and i can promise you that they are booked for whatever you want to call it from the end of Aug till the end of Dec! They buy a half million dollars worth of bucks a year to supply the demand they have to do whatever you want to call it on their ranch. They have some of the top genitics in the country when it comes to whitetails! On another note, When it comes to people breeding these deer to make freaks, Well thats what hurts the high fence world more than anything. There are a few bad apples in every part of life and they are in high fence also. I will also tell you that when it comes to growing whitetails a 170in yearling is very easy to make. There are no roids or any other fake crap that a few spew off about. Its all genitics with very good,All you want to eat feed and no stress at all. For the few that say thats where cwd comes from. Well you might want to do your homework. There are 7 states and 1 other country that has cases of cwd and there has never been a deer farm or high fence ranch in any of them,EVER! Deer farms find cwd because they are the only ones made to look for it. The bottom line is that its none of our business how or what other people choose to do with their life as long as its legal and it does not have anything to do with any of us.

Gee joe, You are what..15 years old? How young are these guys you are having a problem with? Keep them up the road your way, Dont need them on this side!!! lol

With 700 acres i get alot of guys ask and living next to a military base brings on all kinds. I have had people with face paint on come and ask me. I have 8pt or better rule and very little pressure from the guys that hunt so we have bucks out at all times. Had a nice wide 8p (Short Tines) that liked to walk around all day long and was always near the road, Guy stops in a tie and asks if he can just step off the road out of his car and shoot it.

As a land owner, I can say a note left at my place would get you nothing! Knock on the door, ask to muzzleload the late season, explain what you would like to do and offer any kind of game they would and that you would be willing to help do anything around the place to help them out!!!

You were not near letchworth were you? I was on the farm and heard the same kind of fire come from the hogsback area on the park. Sounded like they were on top shooting down into the bowl...

My first ever shed antler
Four Season Whitetail's replied to BuckTracker's topic in Hunting Related Pictures
That buck was probably sick for some reason or maybe wounded. I have had them shed in early Dec before but there was always something wrong with the buck! -
All depends how much you value you life? Hope you are belted in. I know i would not be in one today with the wind we are getting up here. You might not see to many today sitting in a tree.

Or time to find a new girlfriend, Gunna be a long life if she cant handle your love of hunting! Good Luck With That!!! Congrats!

Anyone else feel this way??
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Renegade Hunter's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
You can see the same at letchworth every year but they have the same rights as any of us. I dont like being around the crowd so i jump over the side and let the group work for me. And work it does! Just have to use your head and deal with it for a few days, After the first week its a great place to hunt again! -
Why could i prove that he did not get his spikes shot off by another hunter or a number of other ways. Would be hard to prove what if anything was done. Listen to the stories, Shake the head and move on!!
-
I saw and heard of a first this weekend. There was talk of a guy that shot a spike and snapped the spikes off with a pipe and put a doe tag on it. I went over and looked at their deer hanging in the tree and sure enough, Snapped off all but an inch or so and a doe tag on it. Crazy!

Who misses bow season already?!!
Four Season Whitetail's replied to deerpassion's topic in Deer Hunting
I miss it for sure. Played cat and mouse with a 140ish for the last 3 days on letchworth but could not seal the deal. He was locked with does in a very hard to get to spot. Had him at 60yds once. We were able to get one 140ish 11pt with an awesome look with the bow out of there and many with the shotguns but its far from the same for me. I could handle bow only and antler restrictions but thats just me! Cant wait till next year but im also ready for the late season Bow/Muzzle down there! -
I would also go with a cut on contact head. To many bad words about the rage and that kind of head for anything but a perfect shot. Sorry about the lesson!
-
Great buck!! Love that laid out look. Saw something like him on the park last wkend but he was on one side of the river and i was on the other! Congrats to him!
