Wish you were a tad closer. I have an Alpha, Summit Open and the X Stand and like the Alpha best for long hike hunts and rougher country like the bottom of the park. They all weigh about the same but but they carry different.
-
We lost those 7 for sure.
-
I read there were like 49 Super Bowls and only 44 Us presidents to date....I wonder how they got by those 5 years without that leadership?
-
lol..You are right, We do feed them year round. Alfalfa bales are in place. 4 acre chunk of corn still standing and Tree tops left in the woods from our fall cutting. But it seems they prefer the leftover beans in the fields as of late. They know they can get to corn anytime and now with no snow is the time to gobble up on the Soybean. I believe anyways?
-
No Doubt. We have them in most every field now. I dont believe they even " Yarded " up this year as we have then in groups of 2-5 on all ends of the property. Most winters they are deep on Drum for 4 months.

So true and if they listened to hunters they would be much further ahead. Todays world is trophy deer like it or not. These leased lands and these tracts of private locked up lands are managed for big bucks. If Ny changed their stance on length of seasons, change of seasons and when hunting implements were allowed in those seasons they would be further ahead. Most bigger tracts of land and bigger leased lands are already being ran by the hunters/owners regardless of what the DEC say they THINK should be taken. Most places hunters can run and manage their land better than the DEC because we know what we have for deer populations.. Its not just a guess.
-
Just sucks that their track record shows that this is only a feel good thing the DEC does for sportsmen. Their ideas were put in motion long ago and nothing but a small miracle would change their plan.
-
Its about time mother nature caught up with the game. Now they will be made to be able to bite back when the vermin come a callin...
-
You are only going to find vermin to hunt anywhere in this area.
-
No late season hunting. Antler drop on some bucks. Does bred. If you cant get it done by Dec 1st in the North and end of Dec in the South you probably are not going to get it done.

Nah my Smokin 300Wby Mag is the best. Guts them and if you are facing the right direction can blow it 10-20 yards closer to your truck!

Crossbow exemptions for those over 60
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Dave's topic in CrossBow Hunting
Just a Doctors note and he is in. I have had 2 back operations and a broken collar bone. At 52yrs old i am sure i could get a Doctors excuse myself but that should not be needed. Its a string and an arrow and the arrow does the killing. Hence is an item that should be called archery and included in and archery season. -

Public Input on Hunting Regulations

They know and we know. All you have to o is read between the lines. You can write in or speak up and it will change nothing. They are going to continue on their path regardless of what hunters wishes are. -
Frost seeding
Four Season Whitetail's replied to kpkot's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I do it every year in the pens. Just wait and try to catch the last part of winter thaw when there is still a bit of snow and broadcast right into the snow. If you are on a hillside you will get some runoff. I always go on the heavy side with the seeds when winter frost seeding. -

Dove Locations & Numbers in NY
Four Season Whitetail's replied to mike rossi's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
My question is about huntable populations that are going to be there year after year. 200,000 pheasants and a pheasant season means nothing when they are human reared and have to be released to have a short huntable population. Another season for hunters would be a good thing if its a renewable resource but like i said, In my life, my land and travels on the 1000's of acres i roam a year, I just dont see that.- 32 replies

So the point is you jumped into a conversation and put your own little spin on it that makes no sense. I dont give a rats ass who listens to what but i can bet that if you got an honest survey on this site from the honest people you would come up with a very few people that even see Doves( You know- The bird the conversation is about- Not a bird that has to be stocked to be hunted- Stick with the program) let alone think there is a huntable population in many parts of the state. Anti hunter- Thats a good one. Realist Maybe. I the powers that be think there should be a season then there will be but i can show ya lots of areas that wont get the support because they dont see the birds. On a side note i didnt have enough money to get into the shop opening and we are to far North. Good news is they are only an hour away now if i can just get that card to go get me some Suckers and Cookies. I hear they are to drool for.- 32 replies
