  1. OK I have never ever been able to get comfortable enough to sit still for long periods.Unless I was in my summit or my millennium stand I was always sitting in something that lacked in one way shape or form.Once gun opens I like to be on the ground unless the area doesn't permit me a good shot.Either the seat is comfortable and is big heavy and bulky,or its lightweight and feels like your sitting on a torture devise after a hour and then I am moving. This year I bought a hammock seat from fanatic outdoors. It meets all the criteria. LIGHTWEIGHT--under 2 pounds.COMFORTABLE-- I sat in it for 8 hours Saturday and never felt like it wasn't comfortable enough to sleep in it!!! This seat lets you adjust so the seat is perfect for whoever uses it for hight. You can put it on any tree from around 4-5 inches across to way bigger than what your arms will go around. You can pivot for a better shot also is one of my favorite things. The only downsides I see to the seat are 2.#1 is the fabric is a little loud until you sit in it,once you are sitting its silent.Even getting in and out once its set its pretty quite.#2 you have to have a tree.Thats it.I feel its one of the best things I have bought in a long time and its not terribly expensive, not cheap but I spend more on a tank of gas to hunt one spot sometimes.Give it a look and f your close by and want to check it out let me know.VERY PLEASED!!!! www.fanaticoutdoors.com
  2. Iron buck!!!There are idiots and douchebags in every sport and way of life.Hunting is no different.
  3. The gun did the same thing over the summer so I doubt its that but you never know
  4. Not yet,a guy that works for me is a part time gunsmith and he will be going through it.He used my 308 for the evening hunt
  5. Thanks guys,we are back out now,he is on doe patrol and I am loking for either a doe or huck as long as it's big enough.

  7. Well this was a awesome day!!! Picked Reed up at 5 am ,hit dunkin and headed to our spot.We set up on the side of the ridge and he watched left and I watched right.Around 715 I saw a doe come out of the gully and she was on her war straight towards us.I told him to get into position, she got to 40 or so yard(my view was blocked by a tree) and he said I am on her good so I said let her have it!!!All I heard was CLICK!!!! the gun was jammed up and wouldn't fire. Now she is staring a hole through him and he says it didn't fire,I told him as soon as she isnt watching to switch guns with me.After a minute or two she headed in the other direction and we switched guns really quick.....long story short he couldn't get a shot at her.As he sat back down I looked at his face ad say the disappointment, thats when I saw this spike.I said Reed there is one right there. So he stood when the deer wasn't looking and waited for a good shot and took it.The deer staggered and I told him to shoot again....and he did till the gun was empty and the deer dropped!!!HAHA Whoops and hollers all through the woods. The shot was 92 yards offhand and when we got close I could see he hit the deer right in the lungs from the first shot and the last one hit the buck in his shoulder and dropped him.I am super proud and he was super excited.Heading back out in 10 to see if I can get his doe tag filled!!
  8. A friend of mine puts axle grease on his signs so if some dork rips em down they have grease all over there clothes, hands and whatnot. He puts them up early in the season and doesn't have a problem with deer reacting to the scent.
  9. Anything that will keep me more comfortable in the stand and keep me there longer I will use.Unless you are going out in buckskins, traditional bow or flintlock and sitting/stalking on ground then you are using some sort of newer "technology" to help your hunt. Hunting needs to be fun to keep it alive, now get out there and make it as fun, enjoyable and successful as you can!! PS I will be getting one of these either in a vest or hoodie for next year.
  10. Remington 7600 in 3006 or a Remington 700 in 308
  11. Not if they are washed with my hunting clothes and kept in a storage container.I keep a set of "work" clothes to set stands in so I am not messing up my hunting clothes with scent, rips or just getting them dirty.
  12. Its probably a signpost rub,you know where all the bucks take a turn.Generally I dont think they are started by a small deer, but are always visited by all deer
  13. Had to plow this am,will be out tonight though
  14. yea when we were about 50 yards away my friend(in the pic) said is that I rub?? I said no look at the size somethings wrong with the tree.Yea yea there was a angry buck tried ripping it out of the ground!!!LOL
  15. Friend and I doing a little scouting found these!!
  16. Hell of a day today!!! Started out with a coyote coming in at 50 yards but got downwind of me so no go on a shot. Then I had a buck chasing a doe up and down a ridge for 10 minutes or so.I tried to sneak down the ridge to get close but I jumped anther bedded deer and that one took the whole clan across the road. Then I moved to a different spot.As soon as I set up I had a deer walking around a old overgrown grass field but couldn't make out what it was, then this little button buck showed up and hung out for a hour or so eating briar leaves.Great night and will be right back at it in the AM!!
