  1. I wouldn't say that blur, the same rifle and same rounds last year we tracked 2 deer.Granted they were short tracks but they didn't drop either.
  2. I passed this buck up at 10 yards friday night after he made a scrape and rub and hung around me for 30-40 minutes all in shooting distance.I don't know why because I he is a nice buck and normally I would have taken one this size but I let him walk. After a ton of ribbing from some friends(just friendly stuff mind you) this morning my friends daughter killed her first deer and it was the buck I passed.Heres the stroy This am they went to a soybean field that is bordered by a corn field and aother CRP field.Once light got to where they could see a good distance my friend rattled because the night before he told me he heard some fighting in the woods to the south.I though it was a little early but who knows.Well after a short rattling session this guy came out from the corn ,they could only see the tips of his antlers over the soybeans because he was in a dip in the field and started their way from about 200 yards. He stopped at 150 and the very top of his vitals where showing, not enough for a good shot.My firend let out a few bleats and the buck stated towards them and stopped at 130 quartering to them she go on her rifle(243 ruger american) with a set of shooting sticks. My friend told her to let him have it and he dropped in nis tracks. She couldnt see him drop from the recoil but my friend did, thats when he went crazy!!HAHA he started shouting "YOU GOT HIM YOU GOT HIM!!!! After that he tried to unzip the blind and the zipper was stuck so the blind went flying and so did they!! ANyways pics are worth 1000 words,Here is the happy hunter and the super proud dad
  3. Zip for the day today.my friend says he either heard 2 bucks fighting or one fighting for its life.Said smashing, crashing grunting and wheezing. Didn't here one yote sound though, scared the shiznit out of him he almost didn't come out of the stand!!
  4. Youth season is this weekend and the first-second week in November is chase phase/peak rut
  5. I had a awesome night.Right about 430 I had a deer downwind of me and started blowing at me.I figured there goes the night but I was in till dark.At 530 I heard a deer walking and after 15-20 seconds I saw a deer making its way towards me from behind a tree.I could tell it was a smaller buck,it keep coming and got withing 10 yards and it was a small basket 8 point. It made a left took 2 steps and made a scrape right next to my stand.Raked the leaves back and pizzed on its hocks and worked the licking branch. There was no scrape where this was and its the first time I have ever seen a deer make a scrape,I've seen a few tend one but never make one.So he started walking away and went over to a sapling and tore up a sapling about the size of shovel handle. After that he must have cuaght my scent or something because he started acting weird. He keep looking around and turning and finally made his way downwind of me where he got my scent and blew at me a few times but he stayed around and never left until right before dark.I waited a few extra mins when it got dark.Awesome night in the woods and hope I dont kick myself in the but for passing him up!!! Crappy cell pics, sorry Here he is making the rub Here he is leaving the scrape, the scrape is 10 foot behind him on the edge of the pic and here is the rub
  6. I had Gastric bypass a few years back so I always look for a 100lb doe or smaller. If it happens to be a fawn I do my best to make sure its not a buck fawn.Past that my wife and kid don't care for venison to much so any other deer I get usually goes to a non hunter friend who loves venison or to a few families at church. Its your tag do what you want,me its doe down or if its a fawn its time for some Fawn Mignon!!!LOL
  7. Anyone use ASAT for spring turkey?I was thinking about Predator spring green or Green deception but if the ASAT will work it would cover me for deer and turkey.
  8. Fawn calls or light bleats have always worked best.I have also heard that vanilla and Anise oil works to get em in but have no experiance with that
  9. I havent heard from chumlee so anyone who wants em speak up,first one with money gets em
  10. Lots of steel shot.Don't waterfowl hunt anymore.Stored inside, all boxes in pics are full.I also have a bag of 12 gauge 3 1/2 inch and a loose bag of 10 gauge rounds that go with it.I really don't want to sell separate right now.May trade for 30-06 or 308 ammo
  11. just the gun or what does it come with?PM me some pictures if you don't mind and I will upload mine tonight also.
  12. Bought for my daughter last year and she has told me she cant kill a turkey or a deer.No big deal, its in great shape.Wood stock wood barrel comes in original box. Will post pics tonight later when i get home.May trade towards a gun that I can use.Let me know what ya got.
  13. Runs great, pulls like a beast. This wheeler has the high, low, super low 3 speed transfer case selection on it.It also has 2wd,4wd and 4wd diff lock settings.Everything works as it should except for the brakes. The brakes need cables to work perfectly.Right now the rear brakes work and will top the wheeler fast but you have to lift up on the foot pedal to get them to release.I mainly used this for hunting.I can fill the tank in august, set stands pull deer and not have to fill the tank till next year.I always run fastrac's super unleaded in it so it doesn't have ethanol. last year I had the carb rebuilt because the float had a hole in it and I just replaced a CV boot last week. When I did that I made some CV boot protectors for it.The tires are low on tread but I have a set of really good tires that will go with it as long as someone doesn't beat me up on price to bad. This wheeler is small enough to get through the woods with ease and its light enough if you get it stuck you can lift the front or rear easy.I don't have the registration for it though so thats how it will be sold.I have owned it for over 5 years. There is a few small crack in the plastic but they aren't bad.May take a trade on guns as long as the trade is worth as much as the wheeler or make up difference in money
  14. My friends daughter is going.I think it's great, any person who complains it takes away from 3 days of a archery season is a total dink.Good luck to all the youths heading out this weekend,be safe and remember your safety training. Most of all have a great time and post up tons of pics!!!
