  1. that the problem,The kodabow and VIC aren't around here.At least the kodabow is close but I really dont want to drive 5 hours just to shoot one
  2. I have been looking and doing as much research as I can. With the 200lb limit,17"tip to tip and whatnot what are your guys and gals votes for the best NY crossbow.I like a few Excalibers,Kodabow and the vertical inline crossbow also.
  3. great piece of equipment right there!!
  4. I have the 7600 and the 3-9 crossfire with the electra dot.I really like the setup.Great eye relief and for the money there isnt any better with that warranty. He will love that whole setup!!! He will be good out past 200 with that setup as long as he finds ammo that the gun shoots. My 06 shoots anything I have put through it but likes the winchester silvertips best so far
  5. Overkill is underrated!!!LOL Seroiusly who gives a rats azz??!! I sure as hell dont, when my area used to be shotgun only we would nail em with 1 oz slugs!! How is that not overkill??? Dead is dead is dead
  6. Another vote for the climber, the only way I will sit on the ground is if the cover in the trees wont allow me up to high. Then I sit on the ground in a blowdown or something
  7. The last time I checked, dead was dead!!! Who the hell cares what rifle caliber I use,you use,he uses or the man in the moon uses?Just like Greenehunter said shoot whatever tickles your giblets and STFU if you don't like the next guys choice as long as it will do the job!!!
  8. Lets stat taking guesses here.I am guessing some old docs, papers and whatnot. No cash
  9. What caliber?I was thinking about getting one in 223
  10. Some safes have the rear plate is light gauge metal and is easy to "can open" with a axe.I have seen many at the scrap yard like this.Another thing that could be done is buy a small wire camera from harbor freight and drill a hole, see whats there and the formulate a game plan of how to extract it.
  11. Just remember the overbored guns like the 835 if you plan on shooting slugs you need a slug barrel and shouldn't shoot slugs from the bird barrel
  12. Yea the firing mechanism on any smokepole is just as bad in need of cleaning as any other part
  13. I would maybe go 350 for it.The way I make a barter is I make sure I can sell whatever it is for more for your time and efforts if its something you don't want.300-350 is tops
  14. I would pull the breach plug and give everything a healthy shot of something to kill all the residual black powder.I bet that there is some buried in the threads as that's happened to me many times and maybe some in the firing mechanism. If you feel comfortable taking that apart I would do that also.
  15. What is your sons estimate on the job?if its around 350 or less then yea its a ok deal. The 7600's I have had have been great.I have had 2 both in 30-06.One was a carbine(hated it because it was so loud) and my current which is great.Shoots around 1.25 at 100 with regular old 180 grain Win silver-tips.I bought mine for 450 with a Leupold scope and ring and 4 boxes of ammo.It was perfect except for the forearm had a few dings from the PO used a aftermarket magazine and it hit as you pumped the rifle.I think that rifle in a 308 would be a perfect NY deer killer, light recoil and enough range for whatever I would need to do.
  16. I have the same scope,love it
  17. Yup I am good.I have my old upright that will be going back in use till I get a new one
