Nice armpit shot in the last picture, Wolc....Reminds me of some of the local farm girls I used to date...<, sigh>>.....

Those Sears pump guns were made by High Standard....Another solid , good quality gun at an affordable price... I believe Montgomery Ward sold Hi Standard guns under their label also.. Other manufacturers that made firearms sold by Sears, Wards, and other store brands were Savage/Stevens , Marlin, and I believe Winchester even made some..

I noticed that Mossberg 500 shows up very frequently, especially among the younger guys ( 50 and under) hehehe... A real workhorse...Not fancy or pretty, but affordable and reliable.. The M 500 had not been introduced yet when I started hunting...A beginning hunter was more likely to start with a break action single shot or bolt action ( often a family hand-me-down) and then move up to something like an Ithaca 37 or a Remington 870 after a few years..

Same here...When I was 10 my Dad allowed me to roam about our 187 acres with his Stevens single shot .22.. Of course, that was 60 + years ago... Kids could walk down Main Street with their guns and nobody would so much as bat an eye...

He caught it just downwind of the" ACME Tar and Asphalt " plant discharge.....

Seems like I remember reading somewhere that fear of snakes was the second most common phobia, next to fear of heights... Snakes don't bother me much, but I sure do know what it is like to be afraid of heights...
-
Looks like a milk snake to me...

You are probably correct, Mike... As I recall , about the time I dated her I was distracted by a passionate Italian girl.. Maria Teresa Spermattazoa...... She had enough hair on her arms to weave an army blanket... I'll never forget the time she asked me to shave a happy face around her navel....Such romantic memories.....<<sigh>>.....

HEXAVAGINA LIMPBATA... I dated her years ago..She WAS pretty dense.. That's where the LIMP part comes in...

I have two pairs, both from Walmart....My everyday pair are DR. Scholls about 3/4 worn out... My " Sunday go to Meetin" pair cost me about $16 two weeks ago.... I could use one of Moog's sneakers for a canoe....

They do if they find a receptive hen, Jerry.... I have seen poults the size of grouse in late October... Those gobblers remind me of MYSELF when I was younger.....Hehehehe...
-
Cool....Never seen a black one here in NY/PA, but I have seen a couple of blonde ones... A friend of mine shot a black one while hunting gobblers in Florida a few years ago...

A few years back, it wasn't unusual for a couple of fishermen to catch 15-20 pike in a morning on Seneca Lake.... Our lures of choice were 3/8 oz to 1/2 oz. black or dark brown bucktail jigs tied by yours truly and tipped with a 4" black ripple rind... I think the jigs resembled the sculpins that the northerns were usually full of those days...
-
Northerns are delicious....Much tastier than bass, and I LIKE bass...You just have to learn to cut the Y bones out of them..There are many videos online showing how it is done... Pickerel are just as tasty as pike, but being smaller it is more difficult to take out the y bones and still have a big enough filet to cook.. I have never caught a legal size musky, but a friend gave me one a few years ago...I removed the y bones and cooked it, and it was very good..Similar to pike...

Slow day on the lake...Never even found any concentration of bluegills, but we managed about two dozen HUMONGOUS sunnies, plus a smallmouth and couple of big rockies, and some dink perch...Lovely afternoon on the lake nevertheless...
-
Are you sure it wasn't Lawdwaz with his shirt off ??...
-
I'm headed to Keuka this afternoon with Handsome Howie and another fishing buddy...Hopefully the bluegills are still bedding... Most years I would have fished it several times by now, but The Mermaid has been whipping me me pretty hard !!......
-
My Dad has been gone for 28 years and I still miss him every day....<<sigh>>....
-
Nice morning's catch, Rob !! Did Charlie give you a Father's Day card this morning ??...
-
What a bunch of HOGS !! Kinda reminds me of my datebook from back in the late 1960s...Probably smells similar too...
-
Looks great, Redneck !! IMHO, pork shoulder has MUCH more flavor than the loin....
-
I otter know what it is,but I'd just be guessing...
-
Glad you showed at least one big sheepie, Jay....I thought you were slipping...And don't try to tell us that your buddy caught that big one just because he is holding it... WE know who the Sheepie King is !!!... Hehehehe...

The average hatching date for poults in NY is about NOW.....Surely we lost some early hatches, but the weather in the next 2-3 weeks is much more important than the weather a couple of weeks ago..
