It does. But not nearly at the rate of speed it will eat away steel. Not to mention wheels aren't coated with the protective primers and paint like body panels. Commercial trucks and trailers have been using aluminum body panels for years, if they didn't hold up better than steel they'd never use it

Your buddy's 2010 didn't have a 5.0. The 5.0 didn't go into production until 2011. That's when the F150s got 3 new engines, the 5.0, ecoboost and 6.2L. The transmissions are 6R80s that got started in 2009 in the F150s and have proven to be solid trannys. The new 10 speed trannys should be cool, can't wait To see how they hold up, I'm guessing they will since Ford and chevy teamed up on building it and put a lot of R&D into it

Not sure how anyone could think Fords gone done hill when their sales continue to soar.... The aluminum body they use now I think will be a god send for us living in the rust belt. From everything I can find online, they won't be rusting apart like everything else in 5-8 years.

I vote Ford. The 5.0 is a good engine. My old man has one and has been very happy. I have a ecoboost that will have 130k on it before the end of the month. No major issues. Wife's lease can be turned in early next month and we are going to get another F150 so we will have two of them. Probably going to get her a 5.0. I like the ecoboost and wouldn't mind another but I kinda want both engines just to say I've got both [emoji12]

Same thing happened to me last year. I know I told the clerk at Walmart I wanted everything and he even asked specifically about turkey. But when I looked at my tags I noticed it missing last spring and had to run out and buy it the day before opening day haha. This year I'm all set and have them ready to go. Good thing you looked now Grampy!

My wife said the same thing about the two strutters side by side pic. I think I'll have her get it printed out, good idea! Good luck to you as well this weekend!
-
O and the best news is that I got permission on 70 additional acres bordering the 40 I have now!! I sure do love it when old fashion door knocking works!

I can't get turkeys to shock gobble at owl hooters like I could 10 years ago. But I think it's due to owl population rising and they just hear it more. I know I hear multiple owls every time I sit in the woods. If the gobbled at that it would be non stop around here. I setup a blind yesterday too for this weekend Camera 10 ft in front of blind(don't mind the time or date, both are messed up)

Still need dig my mower out and change the oil, grease and put some new blades on. Looking like I'll need to mow by the weekend, early next week at the latest I'd say. But with rain in the forecast I might have to hold off till later next week

Rob if you look on google maps of some of the state lands west of you, a lot of the roads into the state lands are just called "CCC Road". I can't confirm who planted the pines, but just about every state land around us is covered in pine plantations. Some of it is actually getting logged recently. But I'm guessing the CCC was involved in the planting way back when.

I usually just breast the bird out. Wife makes great cutlet meals with it. I have deep fried one many years ago. I was young and don't remember exactly what was injected into it but I know my dad and uncle were pumping that thing full of stuff. It came out fantastic and was the best deep fried bird I've ever had to this day. I need to get a deep fryer and try it again.

Plumbing quote for new main from house to sewer.

Keep getting estimates. Guy I work with had the same problem. He was quoted 5-7 by a few and then found a guy who did it for 2k. He said something about instead of digging up the yard to replace the pipe they cut it at the street end and then pulled it back into the basement and cut it into sections to get it out of there. And then pushed a new pipe through the old hole. I've never heard of something like that being done before but apparently it can be. Not sure if that would work in your situation but it goes to show what getting a bunch of estimates will do, you may find someone with a better and cheaper idea. -
I'm with ya there. I run 3rd shift but my eating habits are terrible because of it. Most days I only eat once a day and it's usually a big serving of whatever. I'll gorge myself to make it through the next 24 hours. I get fast food way too often on my way into work because I ran out of time to make something at home before leaving. The whole no sleep thing gets to you as well...2.5 hours yesterday and 4 today. Most likely 4 or so tomorrow as well. Good thing for the weekend off, I need a day to sleep in

I second that...the grocery bill is more than my mortgage.

Nice! I've been listening hard and even scouting all over, I hit 7 different state lands Monday morning and was parked at the first one 20 mins before sun up to listen to gobbles and heard nothing all morning. I did see birds in fields strutting, but they were silent. Local buddies weren't hearing anything either. The weather has been pretty rough in this area lately though. We still had snow on the ground going into this past weekend. I think that kept them quiet a little later than usual. This morning it was pouring rain when I got home from work so I didn't hear anything but hoping tomorrow morning there will be gobbles ringing through the valley

Another reason why I love my Fords!
-
Good call, that might make my decision easier to make! Haha. Do I really wanna deal with the state...hmmm...most likely not haha
-
I will for sure. I'm hoping to get it done before next winter. I've seen a couple entire trucks done and I really like it. It just looks tough as nails which is exactly what I need. What I can't decide on is if I want to get it matched to my trucks original color, silver, or just do it in the regular black.

Ya I'm sure wood would be much cheaper but I understand why you'd want trex. I'm debating myself on replacing our deck boards with trex but I don't think I'm gonna do it. I have 2 young boys, they will be old enough the next time it needs to be stained to do it for me. I did it for my father multiple times over the years so I expect my boys to get it done for me some day haha. My boys are lucky our house has vinyl siding instead of board and batten like all my parents houses had. Staining wood siding every few years REALLY sucks on a 5000 sq ft house

Glad ya found it pretty easily. Now comes the fun part of digging up the line to find the problem! I had this problem last year. Blockage between house and tank. Dug it up and found that there was an old cast iron trap about 3 ft off the house where the line came out. Neighbor said they used to put traps outside like that back in the 30s and 40s but definitely not these days. Had to cut that sucker out of there and replace with pvc. It's always something ain't it?

I too heard the years first gobbles around my house yesterday morning! I had just got home from work and helped the wife load the boys into the truck to head off to work and day care. I said goodbye to them and watched them take off. I took 3 steps towards the garage and heard a gobble ring out just down the valley a little ways! It got me super pumped! I've been waiting for them to start, was just telling my buddy the night before it's gotta be any second now haha. I think that snow storm pushed back the breeding time line by a week around my area. Which is good, should make for a good hunting season!

126k on my 2011 F150 ecoboost. Runs like beast. I'll be driving it till the wheels fall off most likely. I could get a new truck but I am quite fond of this one. I've owned all the brands except Toyota. Ford has always been the most reliable for me. The only problem I have is rust now. I'm going to get a estimate later this week to replace the rockers and cab corners now before it gets worse. Thinking of having the entire truck painted with line X also. Rust only happens when the paint chips and moisture gets in. If I can stop the paint chipping by using line x, it should stop future rust.

Any septic company worth their salt can find your tank. They have multiple ways to do it. I had some septic issues recently but more so with my leech field. The guy I called to pump my tank said he has this probe thing they send out on a snake and a machine above the ground tracks the probe. They use that to find tanks and distribution boxes and such. I'm sure any company you call has something similar. O and your tank should be concrete. If it's steel, it's very old and should be replaced. I couldn't even get a loan for my house until the old metal septic tank was replaced with a new 1000 gallon concrete tank.

Wow!! I'm getting quotes for a new 2 story 2 car garage and I'm getting prices from 18-25k so far. That's nuts that I can get a garage built for as much as a trex deck.
