  1. No such thing as a fair fight in my eyes. If your fighting, your fighting to win by all means necessary. I agree we need to promote gun ownership and conceal carry. I think it will make attackers think twice about how they go about things. Even if there were mandated training courses to get your concealed license I'd be for it. I mean we already have that in NY but I mean for every state. I'd even be for everyone having to take a tactical/self defense course that focused on reacting to a armed attacker in a public setting. As the world becomes a darker place, who knows what could happen in 10, 20, maybe even 30 years from now. Could we see a foreign army attempt to invade our homeland? It's doubtful, but I'd sure like to see every citizen armed and ready to push back. There's a lot of stories about regular day citizens putting down attackers, robbers and other thugs in either self defense or protecting others. Unfortunately our liberal media drowns these stories out and they are unheard by the majority.
  2. I'm defiantly hoping I'll have it in the ground in time. If not, always next year! Hoping to get started on mowing tomorrow. Field has dried up nicely over the last few days. Should be able to get back there now without making a total mess. Rode around most of it on the 4 wheeler this morning looking for rocks and other debris I don't wanna hit with the brush hog. Found nothing. The big rock piles in the woods off the edge of the field makes me believe a lot of rock picking was done on this field many years ago.
  3. And this must be the favorite show of those who don't.... https://m.youtube.com/user/mylittlepony
  4. Small tokens tossed at the Antis to shut them up. Hunting in general will never go anywhere. There's too much money in it. Most states generate over a billion dollars each in economic revenue. Antis might be loud, but they don't pump out that kind of money flow. You can act like it's gonna happen all ya want, but it never will
  5. Thanks! I'll have to check that out! If it matures that fast I might be able to get it planted this year.

  7. I was dead set on doing the heli hog hunts...then I saw the price! Haha! They are out of their minds. At least the one place I looked into, you kept the automatic shotgun they give you to use. But it was like 8 or 10 grand for a couple hours. I need a whole weeks worth for that kinda money!
  8. I am very lucky the old lady neighbor lets me use the property as my own. I do plan on buying it soon, hoping as early as next spring. Once that happens, I plan on putting in a lot of trees for food and as cover/screening. I'm excited to see what this plot will turn out as come season. I think the 4 seed types I'm going with will provide good hunting and nutrition. I'm up in the hills just off the catskill mountains and we get some early frosts, which I think will make my plot turn very tasty come mid-late October. The left over seed I have is from deer creek seed co. It's some stuff I won in a Facebook photo contest. It's in a vacuum sealed bag so I'm hoping that preserved it well enough. I'm just going to overseed this stuff over my main mix in front of one of my stands just for the heck of it. If it grows, great, if not o well haha. I ultimately want to plant a screen around the entire perimeter of the plot, with maybe even a strip down the middle. But I think I'm going to be a little late for that this year. That stuff should be getting planted right now, even a couple weeks ago. I'll have to wait for next year on doing that the right way. I thought about planting some corn to use as a weak screen around the edge just because I get it from work by the truck load. It will be late for corn and will probably never reach maturity, but it's free so maybe I'll try it just for fun on part of the edge. I will take lots of pics of the whole process. Gonna stop over to my other neighbor later today and see if we can get the brush hog mounted on his Ford 8n so I can get to work on mowing the field down.
  9. They are awesome to watch. It's incredible how dang fast they are! A lot of trucks get wrecked doing it though haha. They haul ass through those fields, the time I went I thought I was gonna die!
  10. And right after the antis shut down hunting, NATO is coming for your guns, and freedom of speech will be amended. [emoji849]. I think your getting a bit carried away with the fear factor. I'm positive there's a lot of anti hunters. But I highly doubt they outnumber the people who hunt, plus the people who are neutral and don't care. The proof is in the pudding, if it was the way you claim, hunting would be over with by now. I'm curious as to what "ammunition" peta could get here in this thread. Everything I've wrote and read has been about legal tactics in other states. No one ever said they would do it where it was deemed illegal. So I'm not really seeing anything that could be used against us. Your opinions clearly show today's worlds biggest issue...feelings. Everything has become about everyone's "feelings". When will we move back into the real world and base things on facts rather than how it may or may not make somebody "feel". Just because you or anyone else finds something "offensive" doesn't mean it is wrong or illegal. This is why the antis and peta get ignored by rational human beings. People like me will never fit into your bubble of worrying who's going to be offended by everything in the world. No one should bear that kind of burden. Just like I expect everyone else not to worry if I'm offended or not. Being the adult that I am, I can just go about my business, something that should be engrained into our youth.
  11. Speaking of Fido.... Ever seen this in person? It's pretty wild. This will really screw up some moral compasses on here. Watching a pack of Fidos run that yote down and rip it to pieces. So a rapid, yet asuumeingly painful dismembering by dogs is cool, but a quick death by explosion is a no no? I guess I will never understand these moral grey areas...anyone have a map?
  12. I have a roughly 5 acre field that I'm going to turn 2.5-3 of it into a new plot for this fall. Been wanting to tackle this field for awhile now and with the help of a friendly neighbor/farmer, it's gonna happen this year finally. I will probably change my mind a few times over between now and planting, but here's my list so far.. -Winter wheat...basically just because I have access to millions of pounds of it at work. But I know deer like it and it will provide something during the winter months. -Purple top turnips...grew a small plot of these last fall and they grew well in my soil, and my deer mowed them right to the ground within a couple days after the first good frost. I pulled a few bulbs from the ground and they figured out quickly how to get the rest out. Plan to go pretty heavy on these in this new plot. -white clover...will most likely only spread clover over 2 acres to save the other acre or so for future annual experiments. Would like to eventually make this plot a perennial based plot with strips or sections of other stuff. -chicory...grows great here and my deer love it. Goes well with the clover. Those 4 I think will be my main ones. I have some left over seed mixes from last year that have some other stuff I can't remember at the moment that I'll toss out in the areas in front of treestands that are placed along the edge of the field. Looking forward to seeing this stuff grow and hunting over it! Can't wait to take a week or two off work in November and get some all day sits in
  13. Seeing how "hunting" and attempted eradication of coyotes go hand in hand a lot of the time, I'm not sure why there needs to be a line in the sand. Your either out to kill as many as possible or your not. Unreal that you could compare this to ISIS's religion based brain washing and ways. Your flirting with being unpatriotic if you don't love to blow stuff up. As Americans, we are the world champs at it, twice over, soon to be 3 time champ[emoji6]
  14. Thanks for the clarification. Seems to be if anyone asks a question around here, it's assumed that the person asking is already doing something wrong. I never asked for anyone's moral feelings behind it. Just whether or not it was technically legal. I figured it wouldn't be in this liberal jack wagon state, but can't hurt to ask. It is funny to see the difference in west vs east when it comes to the methods of killing. Hell, Texas is now letting you poison the hogs. Could you imagine NY letting us poison something? The tears and forum keyboard shaming would be outstanding.
  15. Another browning fan here. The only better cameras are reconyx which we all know cost a fortune. I tried the spy point 10D last year and was not impressed with the night time pics, very blurry with any motion or distance. The browning cams have proven to be reliable for me. I have a 2015 model that's been out since new and is still taking great pics. No issues with my 2016 model browning either. I have a bushnell trophy cam that's a 2015 and has been out full time as well, but the video function hasn't worked since brand new and it takes white out pics at dawn and dusk 80% of the time, also done this since new. I probably should have sent this one back but never got around to it. I'm waiting on it to completely die but it's still ticking away out there. I've got it locked on a tree and I've lost the key to the lock haha. So it's probably going to stay there until it dies and will continue to stay there as trespasser deterrent. I'm waiting for cell cams to become cheaper, I really want to get a few of them
  16. Traps are supposed to be checked daily. But we all know there's some out there that don't. I've seen traps with legs in them and nothing more so I know it happens quick sometimes. As far as not knowing what's gonna happen when you blow them up, idk if there's to much margin for error. If your setup a big enough charge on a cow carcass and wait until they are all close, not much within a 15-20 ft radius is gonna live. And even if you wounded one that was standing off away from the group, is it really any different than guys slinging lead down range like they are kicking off ww3? I've been on enough coyote hunts to see the type of shooting that goes on. There's not many guy out there that can drop a coyote on the move at 100 yards reliably. I've seen as many yotes run off wounded as I have killed. Another thing to wonder is if an explosion like that would scare the crap out of them and make them want to steer clear of your area. They don't tend to forget such traumatic experiences.
  17. With enough bang, I don't see it as any less humane as a bullet or arrow. I consider it more humane of a death vs leg hold traps that force them to be pinned for hours or days and attempt chewing their own leg off. To me trapping seems more like torture in a way. A tannerite explosion looks to be a quick painless death from the videos I've watched.
  18. Because I'm too lazy at the moment to search the maze DEC calls its website, does anyone know if its legal to blow up yotes with tannerite? Haha. Seen some videos of it being done and it's looks like a load of fun.
  19. Nice boat! Wife and I have been talking about getting a boat. I of course want a bass boat, she wants a pontoon. Will most likely have to compromise with a fishing pontoon lol. But this will have to wait until after I buy the land behind me. Good luck fishin Grampy!
  20. Farmer that lets me hunt told me today while I unloaded a truck load of corn I brought him that he lost a calf last week when his hefer was giving birth. Ate the calf as it came out. He's pissed. Wants me to wage all out war on them. I said not a problem [emoji48]
  21. Well I will have a new 3-5 acre plot once the ground dries up some. Brought a truck load of corn over to the farmer around the corner that lets me hunt and asked if he could till a field up for me. He says not a problem. Figure I'll get it brushhogged early July, hammer it hard with round up 2 times through July then have him disc it up end up July with a planting of turnips, clover and winter wheat right after. I'm pretty pumped about it seeing as this will be the biggest plot I'll have and that it's going to get a real good tilling vs what I've been doing with my atv.
  22. We are doing everything within our power at this very moment. Have you seen what our national debt is right now? I'd say we are tapped right out. Until we have a surplus of trillions of dollars, we can't be shipping out billions. Your taking the terms too literally without injecting some reality. Reality is that this country is broke and we are never going to get out of the hole until we can balance our books better. We are currently at so many economic disadvantages due to poor agreements and deals from previous administrations that we cannot be subjecting ourselves to such massive financial burdens without risking our very existence. Like philoshop said, most all the new clean technology is being created and developed here, but if we string ourselves out so thin, how do you expect this Country to survive into the next several hundred years. If we look back at history, every empire has collapsed at some point in history and most of the time it's due to its economy collapsing. We can not let ourselves fall victim to such an easy concept to avoid. over the course of our existence, we are going to need to choose ourselves over everyone else once and awhile to preserve what we are.
  23. I do care about the environment and hope we do everything we can to see it preserved for thousands more years. BUT, one country can not be the only ones making the financial burden to see it happen. Every country needs to do their part and pay their own way. For the country's who are too small and poor, well I kinda doubt they pollute enough to really make a difference anyways. The amount of money the Paris agreement wanted us to fork over is so large, it could be put to use here in the US to increase research and development of clean technology. If we can figure out how to make ourselves clean and cut out foreign oils completely, we will have the upper hand. But all of this is really kind of a mute point. The new administration isn't discouraging reducing emissions and cutting down on foreign oil. They want us to do everything that was said in the Paris agreement, without having to send everyone else in the world billions of dollars. The media is spinning this as trump is against clean energy and saving the environment. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The left and the media cry when the national debt gets talked about, but don't wanna stop sending everyone else all our damn money. If any democrat had won the election with the intent to truly lower our debt and pulled us out of the deal, the media and liberals would be singing nothing but praise. Like I said before, this reaction is exactly what the people who made up this deal wanted. The true intentions are lost in translation to the average idiot.
  24. 2016 Brute Force 750. All stock except bigger/more aggressive tires and a gun rack on the front. I think I've got 400 something miles on it now. It's a true beast. The sheer power is awesome and has come in handy many times. Mostly used around the house for work and riding the kids around but I take it out on rides with buddies now and then. No problems other than it needs a belt adjustment. Probably wouldn't need one so soon but I do hammer on it when we ride for fun. After I pay it off I'd like to get a side by side next.
