Welcome! Albany county resident and hunter as well. I do travel around to otsego county and up to a buddy's camp on lake Champlain for hunting though. Grab a seat, this is a great forum. Tons of info and great people.

I'm guessing you were about 8 years old or something 10 years ago and weren't allowed access to computers by mommy but 10 years ago, aka 2007, I can assure you the internet was very much alive and online shopping existed. It's when the first iPhones came out, but online shopping didn't exist right? Your comments are so incredibly stupid it's amazing. Just because you can physically go to a store doesn't negate the fact that millions like to shop online and it makes lives easier. I live 40 mins from any major box store that carries a decent supply of ammo. I don't want to travel over a hour just to pick up some ammo if I don't have to. Has absolutely nothing to do with money. And just in case you don't know anyone who actually has a lot of money, most well off people shop around to save money, which is how they remain very well off. Obviously something you know nothing about. Hell my grandmother was worth over 10 million dollars when she died and she was the cheapest person I've EVER met in my life. Being able to "afford" ammo has nothing to do with the fact that millions of people should have access to buying online to save a few bucks.

10 inches already here. Fluffy stuff. Watching a little tv for a bit before I venture out to clear the driveway. Figured I might as well let it pile up some more as it's still coming down hard here

No plans to leave the houses!? I'll be out there blowing donuts in the snow on the brute force [emoji51] Right after I clear the driveway and walkway for the wifey of course....

Cuddeback Ambush Country IR
Adkhunter1590 replied to fasteddie's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
I am surprised cuddy is even still in business. I don't think they've made a decent cam in many years now. Of all the cams out there, I see cuddy on deep discounted clearance sales the most. Reviews are never any good. Best bet is to get a cam around the $100-130 range and you should have decent results -
Recommendations for Ohio Whitetail Hunt Outfitter?
Adkhunter1590 replied to CharlieNY's topic in Guides and Outfitters
Ohio may not be in its "prime" like 6-8 years ago but there's still a lot of big bucks there. You should find plenty of outfitters at the show in Harrisburg. If your dead set on booking a hunt, your best deals will most likely be found at the show to be honest. The outfitters are there to sell hunts and will usually have some money knocked off the regular price if you book at the show. My dad booked a caribou hunt at the Harrisburg show like 12 years ago and saved a little over 2 grand by booking at the show. Meeting the people working for the outfits is another big advantage of going to the show. It's nice to talk face to face with the owner and guides so you can get a feel of what kind of operation they are running. Good luck in your search and good luck hunting this fall! -
We need a HuntingNY get together !
Adkhunter1590 replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
Seems like 3 "regions" would work. Western, central/northern and then southern. Here's an example. This is just a generic pic I found on google. And if events are held on different dates in the different regions. People can decide if they want to travel to the different region events at their leisure. -

My initial thought to a T haha I wish I had a better layout for a good range here or I'd offer up my place as well. Wish I had our old camp out in oneonta. 111 acres of pure sportsmans heaven that hosted multiple large "parties" over the years. -

Funny you mentioned that. I thought about that too like 15 mins after I posted. We rented a pavilion up there for my step sons bday a few years ago. We hike up there and take the kids to the playground there quite a bit during the summer -

I'm game. I know there's a decent amount of us around the capital district. What about a range day? Skeet/trap, rifle range type stuff. Just a thought! -
Does everyone else have "THE" gun?
Adkhunter1590 replied to Buckmaster7600's topic in General Hunting
My dad handed down a old bolt action mossberg .22 to me when I was a little guy. My grandfather gave it to my dad when he was a young boy so I plan to continue the tradition and give it to my sons for them to learn on. I must have thousands of rounds through that gun. Been shooting it for 23 years now. It's my all time favorite gun and I will never ever forget the memories it's given me. From learning to shoot beer cans off the porch at camp with my old man being proud as hell in front of my uncle for the little crack shot I was. To shooting my first squirrel, I remember it all. It's ironic I came across this thread and that someone else has a old mossberg bolt .22 because I was just out back this morning for a little stroll on the quad and brought my .22 with me. -

Straight from whitetail institute? Or is this being bought somewhere else -
You enjoy watching a bunch of crying idiots? You do know that all of your screaming and crying literally has ZERO effect! He's president. And will do whatever the hell he wants regardless of how much you all cry and complain. Frankly, your protesting will do nothing more than laminate you idiots in history as the biggest bunch of morons. There will be no "revolution" as your leader Madonna says. You aren't strong willed enough to do anything meaningful other than cry in the streets in crowds where you feel "safe". Honestly, if these liberal f-cktards want a revolution, I wish they'd man up and go about it the way they use to do it in the old days...by force. Then it would be on like donkey kong and we could literally rid those country of these morons forever

Boycott Kawasaki
Adkhunter1590 replied to Birddogg's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Kawi released a statement saying that it was a pretty much rouge employee who posted that about trump. And that they remain neutral as always and have no interest in getting into politics. Which is fine with me. I don't think any corporation, especially foreign ones, should have any public opinions on our politics. Must of been a sore loser Hillary supporter that wanted to try something to help their cause. -
I was thinking the same thing about the batteries. I have a awesome streamlight flashlight that uses the cr123 and man does it eat them up. At 20 bucks a piece for lithiums, it will get way to pricey to replace those more than once a year

I'll agree the riots need to stop. This shit is getting out of hand. I'm so sick of the articles and FB posts about how DT is so terrible and destroying our country while these same people riot all day and night. Peaceful protest is one thing. But when riots break out, the police or national guard need to be allowed to step in and stomp those rioting pieces of trash into the ground. Whether it be rubber bullets and tear gas or live rounds, at this point I really don't care. The people rioting are nothing but scum that aren't needed in our society. Lock em up or put em in the ground. Either way, stop their BS! -

I'd like to see the info on the PRO strike force and dark ops cameras please!

I have that Quake Claw rubber sling that grips your shoulder great compared to regular slings. Rubber is flexible and almost kinda sticky like and really grips good. They are cheap too. Give it a try!

I've done long drags in the past. I won't do it anymore. If I'm in deep somewhere, it's getting cut up and packed out. I'm pretty good with my knives and can make quick work of getting a deer ready to pack out. I use a nice Badlands pack that I can easily fit a deer sized animal onto and begin the trek back to the truck. Once you've done it this way a few times and get good at it, you'll wonder why you dragged for miles all those times.

This is a pretty big bummer for me. I've been team green for over a decade. Spent many years on the motocross tracks on my Kawis. Best motocross bikes out there. Never had a break down and my motor on my 450 was protested twice because it pulled hole shots like nobody's business. Also have a brute force 750 that I like. Just went riding today with some guys from work actually. It ran flawless like always. Sorry boys...I just can't join you boycott this time.... -
Just saw this pic on FB. It's from the shot show in vegas at the browning trail cam booth. Was snooping around the pic looking for any new model cams on display. The one looks similar to a current model. But there looks to be a camera on display that looks nothing like the current browning cams. Am I just seeing stuff or does that look a camera with a different and larger IR panel? Any insight phade?

Adkhunter1590 replied to growalot's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I agree WI stuff is pricy. But at the same time, its the only "buck on a bag" type seed I think is actually up to par with what they advertise. WI has been around a long time and I think they are somewhat of a leader among the food plot seed companies. They seem to have a lot of R&D behind their products so I seem to trust what they offer. Not sure if you have to buy something or not to get their monthly newsletters and deals. Maybe that's how I got on the email list was when I ordered a bag of Fusion and soil sample test kit last year. when I get another email I will post it on this thread so anyone can get the deal if they want. I'm planning on overseeding a bit due to the plot being a touch on the thin side. Last summers drought was hard on my plots and it was the first year for the Fusion so it kinda got a rough start. The plot was quite thick but after some heavy grazing and continued dry conditions it thinned out a little more than I'd like to see. I probably don't even have to overseed it and it will most likely thicken up on its own again this year but a few quick passes with the spreader won't do any harm.
