I love venison. I don't think there is such a thing as "gamey" taste in any venison. It's just that venison tastes different than other meats, like beef is different to lamb, pork, etc. As far as venison ribs tasting great, this one I would have to taste to believe. I really have to use my imagination on how mostly not very tasty deer fat along with tiny strips of meat stuck to a deer bone can be made to taste good. Must be one hell of a marinade they were soaking in. LOL

Wow, got to say this is a really screwed up ad. Just imagine if someone involved in the meat industry did an ad where they claimed that by eating meat you could do the same thing to a woman? It would be a huge scandal where they would be accused of promoting violence against women, while peta can get away with it it seems.

You fellas love to bitch it seems. Not all products made in China are junk. For what you pay for them, many items actually are pretty good. Try making them in the US for the price? Plenty of electronic items made there that work quite well. Plus I have bought plenty of items made in the US over the years that were pretty close to being junk, too. I have had numerous washers, dryers made in the US that needed constant repair, so exactly where was the American quality and craftsmanship on those items? Nowhere!

Father takes care of daughter's laptop

They were white when he put them on. Poor kid couldn't hold it in any longer being out in the cold and snow for that long. -

Yeah Grow, I would imagine Pa Cartwright fired his gun once or twice to get his point across to the boys. And NO, I never implied WNY was a child. -

Don't worry WNY. There won't be any gunshots like in the video. She just intends to take you out behind the barn for a good talking to. I reckon you can always call social services if things get a little rough? -

No, it isn't May 1 yet. Don't go changing the subject, Deerthug. Some of us are more interested to see how Growalot will hand WNY his butt on this thread before we start thinking about any stupid turkeys. LOL -

Or when our boss sends us an email on what they want us to do next, we can just pull out our snubnose pistols and fire away at the computer on our desk? Actually, this might serve a double purpose. Wouldn't have to argue with the knuckleheads on this site anymore if I murdered the computer. LOL -

He didn't have to do it in front of her. Videotaping himself and then explaining why he was shooting up the laptop and then posting it on the internet is pretty much the same thing. -

He didn't need to do it in front of her. Videotaping and posting it on the internet for her and the rest of the world to see is probably even worse. May not be "rage", but it honestly don't have to be. My son sometimes doesn't want to pick up his toys, so then if I took them out somewhere and shot them full of holes, people shouldn't think I am a looney bird?? Come on now. -

All social services needs to see is the video of how he has no qualms about pulling out a gun and firing it to reprimand his daughter and they have all the reason they need to give him a visit. If he did what he did without videotaping it and posting it on the internet, then most likely no one could prove anything. But since the video is on the internet for the world to see, then it's a whole different matter. -

Interesting to see who is agreeing with what this fool did here. All I know is that I will never be pulling out a gun and firing it to reprimand my children in any shape or form. To think that it's is a good idea doesn't speak highly of fellow gun owners, that's for damned sure. Then some of you dudes wonder why many people don't trust people with guns and want more gun controls?? HELLO!! You boys make your beds, so I guess you need to sleep in them. -

So the solution is to pull out a gun and shoot the damned computer?? I tell you with attitudes like this gun owners will always be looked at as a bunch of redneck looney birds. I have no gripe against a parent reprimanding a kid for something as stupid as a facebook posting complaining about the parents, but videotaping yourself shooting a computer and then posting it on the internet is honestly as stupid as what the kid did. Maybe if the daughter does something similar again he will pull the gun on her? Stupid insane family if you ask me. -
That great, but eating as much as you do still might be having some negative effects on you, eventhough you have always been thin. I think it would be better if you didn't eat as much. 5 burgers or a pound of past is incredible! None of us will escape this life alive, but I think eating too much of the wrong things won't help us in the long run.

Yes, a .243 will kill a deer. So could a .22LR in the right hands and situation. In my opinion a .270, 7mm, or most .30 caliber cartridges will do a better job than a .243. More room for error with the less than perfect shot with the larger bores. Many push .243's on young shooters, although it's a cartridge more suited for the expert shooter, and not the inexperienced one. With the many fine recoil pads available out there I find it a lame excuse that someone can't handle more recoil than a .243. Just not a hell of a lot noticeable difference between a .308 and .243(both based on the same case), and the .308 is no doubt the better choice to get the job done in all the different situations one might come across.

My goodness! You put down more than a trash compactor! I don't care how good a persons metabolism is, if you are eating this much and not gaining any weight, there has to be something else up inside your system. I have also seen thin people drop of heart attacks. Just because your thin doesn't mean that all those eggs, bacon and burgers might not be clogging up your arteries.

Large Capacity Magazine
steve863 replied to Elmo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Well, I guess you would have a problem with a tubular type magazine that is permanently attached to the gun. They are sort of a pain to load and unload in my opinion anyway, so I guess this law wouldn't affect someone who doesn't own a gun of that type. Also, many ranges don't allow the shooter to load up more than 5 rounds at a time anyway, I know the one in Brookhaven LI doesn't, so a large capacity magazine wouldn't be of much help anyway. -
Large Capacity Magazine
steve863 replied to Elmo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
If you have a gun that has a detachable magazine, you can still own a magazine larger than 5 rounds capacity. Just don't have it attached to the gun while transporting it within the city. You can shoot on LI or upstate all you want with that larger capacity magazine. How many places are there to shoot within the city anyway?? How the hell will the city know that you own a larger capacity magazine if you have it stuffed in an old shoe somewhere in your house or under your spare tire in your trunk? The law is stupid, but it's quite easy to get around. Absolutely NO freaking way the city will ever know about it if you don't have it attached to the gun. I would really like to know how many people they busted on this charge?? I bet mighty few if any. -
My New Encore Whitetail Extreme
steve863 replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
OK then, I wasn't sure if you wanted to take the current base off, since it already came with the barrel. Like I said, I don't think the rings you could get for the base on the gun is a bad set up either. -
My New Encore Whitetail Extreme
steve863 replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Does that barrel already have a scope base on it? It looks like it does. I don't think Leupold dovetail rings would work with that type of base. I don't think Leupold even makes dovetail bases to fit right onto a barrel. Not 100% sure what Leupold has for this T/C rifle, but I am quite sure that dovetail rings would not fit on the type of base that appears to be on this barrel. T/C does sell it's own rings which are quite good. I wouldn't hesitate to get them. -
This guy should not be handling a pistol . . .
steve863 replied to Deerthug's topic in General Chit Chat
Guess what fellas?? A klutz who stubs his toe, or hits himself on the thumb trying to hammer in a nail is not walking around with a weapon that could potentially hurt or kill innocent people. That is why the other non-gun accidents don't make the news. This story is an example of how we allow people to buy firearms without any training and then an accident occurs as soon as he leaves the place he purchased it from. Why wouldn't the liberal media use a story like this? It is a fine example of what some gun purchasers are capable of, and honestly how many of us have not seen our share of irresponsible gun handling? In my opinion the media would have plenty of stories to choose from. This one just happens to be documented by the police, so it's an easy story for them to write up. -
Yup, Pygmy has got it right. You don't hit the front shoulder or spine, and the animal will not drop instantly in the majority of cases. There is NO magic bullet out there that will make it happen either.

How much will it take?
steve863 replied to Skillet's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Disdain?? So one can't call to question anything that the pro-gun crowd does just because we also own guns?? Sorry, Doc, but like I said, if you can't for a minute see the reasoning why the other side might think what they do about guns, then you are also part of the problem. -
I know one thing. After watching that video, I think it's downright un-disputable that Biz-R-O and the shooter on the video are father and son. LOL
