This guy should not be handling a pistol . . .
steve863 replied to Deerthug's topic in General Chit Chat
Guess what fellas?? A klutz who stubs his toe, or hits himself on the thumb trying to hammer in a nail is not walking around with a weapon that could potentially hurt or kill innocent people. That is why the other non-gun accidents don't make the news. This story is an example of how we allow people to buy firearms without any training and then an accident occurs as soon as he leaves the place he purchased it from. Why wouldn't the liberal media use a story like this? It is a fine example of what some gun purchasers are capable of, and honestly how many of us have not seen our share of irresponsible gun handling? In my opinion the media would have plenty of stories to choose from. This one just happens to be documented by the police, so it's an easy story for them to write up. -
Yup, Pygmy has got it right. You don't hit the front shoulder or spine, and the animal will not drop instantly in the majority of cases. There is NO magic bullet out there that will make it happen either.

Disdain?? So one can't call to question anything that the pro-gun crowd does just because we also own guns?? Sorry, Doc, but like I said, if you can't for a minute see the reasoning why the other side might think what they do about guns, then you are also part of the problem. -
I know one thing. After watching that video, I think it's downright un-disputable that Biz-R-O and the shooter on the video are father and son. LOL
-
LOL! If his mom says that his father is the father, would that be proof enough? Or are you calling his mom a floozy here?? LOL
-
Well, yes, some of us do. No disrespect there, Growalot, but maybe you ought to try it? Maybe it would help you see things from a different perspective as well. From what I can tell here, many of us own property, both in urban and rural areas, yet not too many of us are posting stories of constant crazy shananigans that keep occuring to us over and over. So for us one crazy story from a poster won't get much attention, but post them two, three, or more times, and then we just might pull the BS card on them. I really don't see this as being unfair in the least.

You have a point on the magazine limit and banning guns, but how can government do anything to protect guns from falling into the wrong hands when there is NO uniformity in gun laws in this nation? Just try to implement some sort of uniformity between the states and the NRA and the gunrights crowd will cry bloody murder and won't want any part of it. All those with extreme views on the gun issue, be they for them or against them are pretty screwed up in my opinion and add to the problem, nevermind do anything to help solve it. It's actually kind of the same for any other issue in this country also. Too many extremist at the decision making level to ever come to any sane solutions. Plus, if a sane solution was somehow found, the lobbyist and other blowhards of course would NO longer be profiting on this issue, so the American way has become to NEVER come up with solutions to anything. They just argue the same issues for decades and do JACKS#!+ to solve any of them. -

I hear you there, and that is the core of the problem that many gun rights guys can't seem to grasp. Every gun that is used in any crime was once a legal purchase somewhere. Not like the gun manufacturers are opening their backdoors and filling up the trunks of criminals. Legal purchasers are allowing guns to end up in the wrong hands in one way or another. The gun rights guys don't want to hear this, but that's what's happening. Tell them that background checks should be put in place for private sales also, and they will balk at that too. Well then, if we don't do a damned thing to help protect guns from falling into the wrong hands, then government surely WILL take them all away. I really don't care to discuss this all again here with people who obviously will never fully get it, though. There are two sides to every story, but unfortunately many people just want to look at their own side. -

The interesting part is that these type of weapons are the hottest sellers in the gun world these days. Go to any gun shop and they have more AR15's than they do traditional hunting type guns. Everything is tactical this and tactical that it seems. They are even selling life sized zombie dummies for the tactical shooter to shoot at which I find completely ridiculous. So right now the only way I see these types of weapons being restricted is if you have a number of incidents where some looneys wrecked havoc with legally purchased guns of this type. And with the numbers of these types of weapons increasing everyday, I guess that possibility of such incidents will also. So time will tell, I guess. -

Very well put, Elmo. There are many more important things in life. Those who think they couldn't survive in this world without a gun, are kidding themselves. Lots of people don't have guns in this country and in many other places around the world and live quite happily and are not slaves to tyrants or governments. Some people I guess think some sort of boogeyman is out to get them at all times, so I guess feel naked without a gun. They could believe whatever they want, but need to understand that their way of thinking is not shared by everyone and never will be. -
Oh OK! Haven't watched the Flintstone's in years. Yeah, if his name is Anthony, his is definitely a goombah that could play the part!! This guy could be used in the animated version of nyantlers life story. Maybe they could use the voice of the guy in that "honey badger" thread video for him. LOL
-
You've got me there, Doe, who is that guy? Tinkerbelle's brother? I don't think I know him. I do see a resemblance to nyantler, but is this little fella Italian at least??
-
Really?? I vote for Danny DeVito.
-
I tell you, T/C comes up with these interchangeable gimmicks, but by the time you buy the different bolts, barrels, magazines, to make the caliber switch you can get another gun for probably the same money. Plus T/C hasn't set the world on fire in regards to accuracy, even compared to moderate priced guns like a Savage, so why would I think this one will be any better? Not my cup of tea. If I want guns in different calibers, I will get another gun.
-
I have been wondering what Italian-American actor could play nyantler if a movie was made of his life? Would it be Stallone, Pacino, DeNiro, Liotta?? We should start a poll.

Looking for a Chevy.

Haven't you been reading his posts? From the looks of things in his town, a pickup will do just fine. I don't think they ever saw a BMW. That's something cityslickers drive. And don't forget, the bed of the pickup is the perfect place to do you know what if he gets lucky with one of those chicks. He just rolls open a tarp, kicks away the beer cans and they can go at it to their hearts delight. Hee Haw! LOL -

He should probably go to the next town over to steal one. Vehicles in his town all have bullet holes thru them. And by the way Biz-R-O, only Geno is allowed to use "bro" on this forum. LOL -
Makes sense. It was a full moon that night.
-
I tell you, kid, if everything you tell us is true, then you must live in the most Godforsaken corner of New York state. Honestly. I didn't think such a wild place with as many barefoot, toothless, shotgun toting, poaching hillbillies existed in a northern state like New York. Jesus bloody Christ, how could so many crazy events happen to someone so young? You might want to have them mushrooms analyzed, actually.

Nyantler and Geno enjoying an espresso after checking out each others veins.
-
Now that would be more appealing to me! At least you get some tasty pork chops out of it if successful.
-
Oh, OK. I always figured you and Robinson lived in Dodge City of the old west, from the sound of things.
-
Can someone please tell me where I could find the smiley face holding up the BS flag?
-
Try PM'ing Growalot. She has a recipe for anything, including chipmunks and old shoes.

Well, you might be right there. They hold our man cards, along with our paychecks, bank books, credit cards, etc. In return we get love and affection. Well at least once a week maybe. LOL
